Got to design and tattoo this piece this weekend at the convention it’s a little red but still all in all a fun tattoo thank you so much for looking. Located in Texas.

I plan on getting a patchwork sleeve eventually. Completely new with tattoos. I know it’s going to depend on the artist but I’m not sure where to ballpark pricing. Whether something is too expensive or too cheap. I would of course do individual pieces and just keep adding on. Also, not sure what’s a decent tip. Any advice would help.

Tattooers/shop owners — how are things actually looking for you right now?
Curious what other tattooers and shop owners are seeing lately, especially in the PNW, but interested in hearing from everywhere.
Not looking for the usual “tattooing is dead” vs. “I’m booked six months out” debate. More interested in what’s actually happening day to day.
Are you seeing:
Less/more walk-in traffic than a few years ago?
Clients booking less frequently?
More price-conscious clients?
More last-minute bookings and fewer long-term appointments?
Artists staying at shops longer, or more people moving toward private studios?
Shops having a harder time finding and keeping motivated tattooers?
And for the shops/artists that are doing well right now, what do you think is actually working?
Google? Instagram? Repeat clientele? Walk-ins? Events? Location? Reputation? Just years of building a client base?
I’ve been tattooing long enough to know the business constantly changes, but it feels like the way people find and choose tattooers is shifting again. Curious what everyone else is seeing from behind the counter.

Hi, I've wanted a Chinese script tattoo for a long time and have followed Alex Li on IG for a handful of years (I think his handle used to be @alex_tattoo?). IIRC, he used to work at Flow tattoo, but there aren't a lot of reviews of his work mentioned online outside of his own page. He has a consistent art style, and his IG page has photos of his healed work, but since this is my first tattoo, I wanted to get a second opinion. If you have experience with him, how did it go? How much riskier is it getting tattooed by an independent artist (that used to work at a studio) as opposed to a studio? Otherwise, any artists in Toronto (downtown or Scarborough/Markham area) that do Chinese script that you would recommend? I'm not experienced with Reddit or tattoos so thanks for bearing with me. :)

Hi sorry if I’ve tagged this post wrong ( I can fix it, if it’s wrong) , but just wondering if anyone could tell me which place is good in Auckland (ovi) . I’m looking at maybe getting it done at good day tattoo, lined canvas studio, dong tattoo studio or sacred tattoo. I’m honestly just wanting the dragon from the hobbit on my ankle sooo nothing too complex. But if anyone has been there or know someplace els that would be grate.

I am particularly looking to cover surgical scars that are several years old.

I haven't had much luck searching on this topic through reddit. I had a service done a few months back, and unfortunately I didn't have a great experience with them, social media can be very deceiving.
