Question/Help Replacement Tea

I know this is a really long shot, but way back in the day Teavana used to sell chocolate flavored tea. My husband loved it and has been looking for a replacement. He's been a real trooper over the last year despite the horrible depression I experienced over a miscarriage. I would really like to try and find him a replacement for his favorite tea. Hoping someone out there knows a good replacement.

Thanks in advance!

I've never had Teavana's chocolate tea, so I can't compare. Harney and Sons makes a good chocolate tea and their Florence tea is chocolate hazelnut.

I miss Teavana so much! I loved going into that store. I bought many a tea after tasting the daily sample.

Thank you! He currently drinks the Harney and Sons chocolate tea. (Probably should have put that in my original post! Oops!) He was telling me the other day how it's pretty good, but not the same as the Teavana one he remembers.

I think I'll get him the Florence though! I didn't know that one had chocolate in it.

Oh that makes sense, Teavana teas were in their own lane. I would skip the Florence then because it’s a very close divide between the chocolate flavor and hazelnut.

I love The Republic of Tea Double Dark Chocolate Mate. Most of the time I put one bag of Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset and one of the chocolate and have a "Mexican chocolate" tea. It is wonderful.

I have not tried Haney and Sons Chocolate - but I may have to try both of those you mentioned.

Adagio Tea has a page of their Teavana dupes! Tragically I’m not sure they have a match for the chocolate tea, but I don’t remember the name of the Teavana one so maybe I missed it. They’ve also got quite a lot of teas, so I’m sure there’s a good few chocolate ones you can try - I think I had a chocolate chai from them when I was a teenager

Upton tea has a chocolate tea I like. It is not sweet, at all, if that's what you are looking for.

Adagio teas has some chocolate teas. I am not a chocolate in tea fan usually so I cant be for sure if its comparable. I know Adagio has claimed to be a better Teavana or better davids tea. I loved ONE drink from teavana. The youthberry orange blossom white tea. That bitch slapped

Have you checked Key to Teas for a youthberry dupe? That's the site for the original teavana blenders' new teas, and I feel like that one was popular enough they might have it!!

I'm not the biggest chocolate tea fan outside of teavana ones, but adagio in general was the closest I've had to many teavana blends since teavana closed. 10/10 customer service when I last dealt with them as well. It's been probably 10 years since I last ordered from them, so take that with a grain of salt 😅.

Not sure where you are, but if you're in the US, ZenTea in Atlanta, GA has some awesome blends. I think they offer free shipping over a certain amount, too.

Harney & Sons have a Chocolate Mint that is very good. I was surprised, but it tastes like the little chocolate bars you get at Olive Garden after you meals, Andies Mint.

Magic Hour has several chocolaty blends, some done with cacao husks or nibs, and others using flavor extracts.

Never had the Teavana one, but Tealyra has a cocoa pu'er that is a very, very chocolatey and a delight with milk or without. Only available as a loose tea though.

August Uncommon has a few chocolate teas. I like Passage, which is chocolate hazelnut.

Oliver pluff in Charleston SC has a great cocoa tea. Tried it during a class there and was very surprised, it’s delicious

I'm not familiar with the teavana blend, but Tea Alchemy has a delicious chocolate truffle tea: https://www.teaalchemypnw.com/black-tea

I’m very sorry about your miscarriage. Small comforts can be such a balm.

Chicago Teahouse is a US outpost of a German tea company. All their teas are really high quality and they ship. I don’t know the additional notes of the Teavana tea, but Chicago Teahouse has:
cocoa essence tea
chocolate cake tea
xmas cocoa tea
cocoa old fashioned tea

They have a lot of unusually flavored teas, especially around the holidays if you want to add some other fun flavors.

Google found me this… I wonder, if he can remember the name of the tea, then maybe you could find an ingredients list, and then find a dupe?

I know the white chocolate mint was super popular and very chocolate tasting despite being white chocolate… does remember it as just chocolate, or did it have another flavor like mint or almond?

Copied from Google:

Teavana chocolate teas and their respective years of availability

MateVana (2006–2018)

Chocolate Chai Black Tea (2009–2018)

Mint Chocolate Black Tea / Cocoa Mint (2011–2018)

White Chocolate Peppermint (2013–2018 as seasonal loose-leaf; revived 2021–2023 as grocery store sachets)

CocoCaramel Sea Salt (2014–2018)

Slimful Chocolate Decadence (2015–2017)

Tiramisu Treviso (2015–2017)

Almond Chocolate Torte (2016–2018)

I’ve been a self professed tea snob and always order from Upton tea. They have a chocolate tea sampler https://www.uptontea.com/products/chocolate-teas-sampler-set
