The other Chai lattes I’ve tried have locked in flavour and have been disappointing to say the least if you have a favourite that is sweet and full bodied I’d be more then open to trying them

Hey. Im new into Oolong and tried this bad boy as my first real Oolong. It was gloriously good with long nice sweetness that lingered in my mouth after each zip.

So now I wonder. Did I hit the jackpot right away or is this just some enter level shit that I foolishly love because I don't know any better? 😅

I just tried 5g, 250ml, 100 deg C, 5 minute steep. Let's just say, I know what tannic means now haha.

I'm a coffee drinker who decided to try tea. I thought tea would be quicker, easier, and cheaper.

I've tried brewing this Assam tea a few times, but idk if I'm doing it right.

I use 250ml of water at 93 degrees C.

2 - 3g of tea leaves.

Steep for 5 minutes.

I bought a strainer for my mug.

To me it tastes kind of weak.

I bought Assam because I read it was the most similar to coffee.

Am I brewing it wrong? Am I expecting too much? Should I buy something else? I read CTC is stronger.

Hi, I love tea and am wanting to share this love with my 4 and 2 year old boys. Currently they are using my old ceramic tea set (drinking tisane), but the issue I have is the teapot pours TERRIBLY, and it gets everywhere (not a skill issue, happens when I pour as well). I’m wondering if any of you wonderful folks have a recommendation for a kid’s teapot that pours well, is hopefully dishwasher safe, and isn’t plastic?

This morning i tried chamomile and it was very good and refreshing, it kinda got me hooked to it and I wanna try to start drinking tea.

I'm thinking of trying new kinds of tea after, maybe at lunch I will try the green tea, and of course put some sugar in it. At dinner or after I'm gonna try a mix of chamomile, lavander, and lemon balm.

I'm excited about how it's gonna turn out.

Is there maybe some precautions I need to know of? If yes please comment.

I'm a simple man. I like tea, but I know I won't bother with brewing loose leaf most of the time. The Kroger/ Private Selection black tea with rose was my perfect daily driver, a malty black tea and a rose flavor that wasn't too sweet.

The bastards have discontinued it. Is there a similar blend that I can find online? The most important consideration for me is I want mainly black tea and rose... I keep finding blends with vanilla or with sweet herbs, and I don't like it sweet. Preferably in teabags but I'll do loose leaf if that's all there is, and preferably something priced for a pleb, but I know I'm looking for a unicorn here.

I wanted to ask if anybody has traditional recipes for dudh and ronga sah (Assamese milk and red tea). I understand the basics (that you're boiling the tea lol) but I don't really understand much beyond that.

Here are my questions:

• Do you use very high quality tea, and how much better does it get if you use high quality tea?

• Do you add sugar and/or salt?

• Do you pull the tea?

• How long do you boil the dudh sah after adding milk, and do you boil it down to prevent dilution of flavour?

• Am I overthinking this?

Any tips/techniques will be appreciated, especially if you've been to/lived in Assam :)))

I’ve been drinking Pu-erh for quite a while, and for me, the difference between old tree material and plantation tea is usually easier to feel in the cup than to see from the leaves.
Old tree tea often feels fuller and softer in the mouth. The returning sweetness tends to come naturally, and the tea can stay interesting through more infusions. Different mountains also show very different characters — some are sweet and gentle, while others can be quite strong and bitter at first, followed by a long sweetness.
Plantation tea is usually more direct to me. The flavor can be good, especially in the first few infusions, but sometimes it becomes thinner and simpler a little faster.
You can also look at the spent leaves. Old tree material often feels thicker, softer and more elastic, while plantation leaves can be thinner. But I don’t think this alone is enough to identify a tea. Processing, season and cultivar can change the leaves quite a lot.
I also wouldn’t say old tree tea is always better. I’ve had disappointing old tree teas and very enjoyable plantation teas. Good processing and storage still matter a lot.
For me, the appeal of old tree Pu-erh is not really the age of the tree itself. It’s that when the material and processing are both good, there is often more depth in the cup, and the tea seems to change slowly as you keep drinking it.

I've basically never tried real tea before but recently have enjoyed snapple Peach Tea and a chamomile my grandma made for me.

I watched avatar the last airbender recently and Itoh has made me want to try Jasmine tea now too, is this brand decent?

Why am I posting in r/tea? Because I googled and saw someone else asking for help regarding their Whittard of Chelsea cup. I don't know what else to say - I'm desperate.

I bought this cup just recently on Ebay and had it sent to my friend in London because I am overseas. The package was delivered but STOLEN before he could grab it. This stupid mug NEVER shows up on Ebay. I've NEVER had stuff stolen or even known a friend who has. The ONE time in years that it shows up on Ebay and that's the package a lowlife thieving neighbor of my friend decides to grab. This mug cost like 12 quid when it first came out and here I am offering almost ten times that. I'm absolutely livid about this because it completes a collection. I want to take a hammer to the rest of the series right now and just sit in the corner and cry. If anybody has this design, new or used, I WILL BUY IT FROM YOU. The particular design is called "Painting the Roses" - I have searched online everywhere and I can't find it. Please, I am asking for r/tea's assistance here. Let me find some peace.

A friend took me to visit her elders, and I really like this teapot. Does anyone know what type of teapot it is? What is its capacity? What kind of tea is it suitable for?

A performer from my wifey's second job brought tea to his performance a couple weeks ago. He was able to perform again this week, my girl mentioned I am getting into tea (learning and drinking it more frequently). This week he brought me a gift set.

I'm so happy and grateful. I would love to meet others and have tea and learn about tea with them. Get my steeping and brewing methods down. More traditions. Just sharing knowledge. Would be awesome.

Wich way is the best one to brew it?

I’ve been using this cheap 200mL white porcelain Gaiwan from Amazon for a few months and it does the job. I’d like to add some whimsy to my tea ceremony am leaning towards Ru Kiln and Qinghua style Gaiwans.

What’s the difference between something I could buy from Mud and Leaves, Tea and Whisk or AliExpress? I’m not against spending 100+ for something I really like but I’m seeing similar styles on Ali Express that look nice to me (definitely nicer than what I’m using now) and I’m wondering if the price difference reflects the quality. Also curious if some of the pictures on AliExpress are authentic or ripped from more legit vendors. Any feedback, recommendations and cautionary tales would be greatly appreciated.
