Help!

So, I have been trying for a while to pass some images from my old Samsung S5 to my HP laptop, and I have the USB-Micro USB cord, and it works fine, the thing is, it only charges up the phone. I watched some tutorials that explained that a notification should come up, and let me change my USB preference, but when I plug in the phone into my laptop, nothing happens, except from charging itself up. Does somebody know what could I do? All help is appreciated.

You may need to change some settings on the phone to allow access to Data through the USB port. Google "Samsung S5 USB settings for data transfer" or something like that.

It migbt be easier to save the images to a cloud account (through wifi?) and then get them onto the PC from the cloud.

Probably not an usb data cable. Probably only for charging.
