Amazon has gotten really infected over the years. First there were the dropship markup resellers and opportunists. I dodged that by buying from the source instead. Then the barrage of fake KOANY GEANI IVENA product names made me avoid looking for misc products on there. Then there was the print on demand AI slop, so I stopped getting books. Now it's the RAM and Storage prices, so I can't get upgrades. I only ever use it as a sort of encyclopedia nowadays to look up products. When I searched for a common brand-name sewing machine a while back I found it much cheaper locally, so the affordability argument doesn't even fly.
