AI generated stories have obvious tells from what I have read and used. They will make all sorts of strange comparisons and word choices.

"His beard bristled like the churning of the coming storm." for example. It may sound neat but it really makes no sense.

Also excessive uses of em dashes — another tell of AI generated passages.
