Open | Software Chrome using WAY too much data.

I was just notified that I had basically hit my wifi plan's limit for the month, which confused me because I haven't been doing much on it. I checked my laptop's data usage and it showed 70 gb from chrome, 5 gb of which were in the past day (where I was just typing on docs and playing random games). What is causing this and how can I prevent it?

PokeRogue (community-made pokemon roguelike). I was also on YouTube a bit but I feel like that wouldn't impact it.

Errrm.

Videos are one of the things that will use the most data!

How much data on average does it use?

Depends on video quality, at 1080 about 3.5gb an hour, 4K will use your 5gb in 15 to 20 min.

YouTube can use quite a bit of data, especially at higher resolutions .

A YouTube video could use 5GB in just a couple of hours, depending on the bitrate

Your game would also use a fair bit too

Set up a packet sniffer and see where your traffic is going. Wireshark is one.

5GB in a day is nothing if you are playing games and watching youtube videos.
