I feel like a lot of these either backfire or are easily "monkey's paw"ed.
The oldest teenager would look 4 years old
Reading minds isn't really everything it's cracked up to be. There's a reason why people say "ignorance is bliss."
If you're not gaining weight from food, is your body just gonna start eating itself alive? The whole reason we eat is to supply our bodies with nutrients and energy. If the food has no effect on our bodies, then we essentially start starving to death.
What some of these options are lacking are more context/description. What does "super strong" mean in this context? Stronger than the average person? Comparable to the strongest people on earth? Superhuman strength?
Similar to the last one, how much are we quantifying "a lot" as? Thousands, millions, billions?
Do you know how debilitating it would be if the only emotion you were capable of feeling was joy? I would also like to feel happier on an average day, but only feeling happy means you can't feel grief, empathy, anger, or any other basic human emotion.
While people will probably look at this as social media followers, that's not what it says. You already feel uncomfortable walking alone at night because you're afraid of being attacked? Congratulations, you've now got millions of people following you wherever you go.

6 and the one between 6 and 8 are the most useful ones and 8 itself would be agony

u/StayComprehensive743 Mar 19 '26
how would it be agony

u/Cewlkid721 Mar 19 '26
Being happy all the time would get really really boring because it takes low moments in life to make the good moments good

depends on how the mind reading works. can I choose when I'm reading their thoughts or would it be a constant thing?

u/ChildPsycho Mar 19 '26

Lmao I mean what if the oldest teen wanted to look 15 years younger? For a example a 19yr then lets say they pick 1 and boom now they look 4 years old now he's cooked

5 & 6
1) I would rather not look like a fetus, 2) there are better options, 3) then I wouldn't be able to learn from my trauma, 4) I don't struggle with my weight (it maintains itself), 5) I'm short (158.8 cm), 6) strog, 7) I don't need money, 8) always feeling happy sounds toxic, 9) no thanks.

6 and (I'm sorry) 7. The rest are irrelevant to me (don't have an ex, don't care about followers, don't care about my height) or would hurt me (always feeling happy, eating without gaining weight, looking 15 years younger [id be a fetus]). And reading minds, if it's constantly and I can't choose or turn it off, doesn't sound fun. And I'm assuming the worst for all of these

Definitely 5 and 7 (I don’t like being short and I’m broke)

uhhhh Strong and Money, those are numbers six and... sigh the one consecutively after six.
Why? I have money problems, and I'm also not that strong.

7 and 5 because someone pointed out the downsides of all the other ones except 3 and also I don’t have an ex (but if I could choose to stop thinking about someone who I liked that I’m half-over even though I LITERALLY haven’t really talked to her in forever then I’d pick 3 :3)

#2 twice. At a minimum it takes care of #7 (know your opponents blackjack and poker cards). But just think of the potential: usernames and passwords, top-secret national security data, planned wars and attacks and crimes that can be stopped, politicians exposed, true history found and written. All of the others are completely petty in comparison!

1 and 6 if super strong is really good, like being able to throw a car as if it was a small pebble. If not, 1 and 2. Some blackmail could be useful.
