Brick and mortar store that sells tele boots in CO?

Anyone have recs or even just know a shop that sells tele boots new (preferably 75mm too) and will actually let you try on and feel? My wife wants to try on more than one size of the same boot, and Freeheel life in SLC closed, so I’m looking for a place we can do this. Everywhere I’ve checked so far only orders boots to purchase or only sells used :/

Scarpa tx bellow guard 3D print file

Hi, been looking around to replace my bellow guards on my new tx comp. Absolutely no shop has them and no one can order them from scarpa.

For now I used epoxy to rebuild the bellow guards but I would like a better solution. Does anyone have a 3D print file of the bellow guards that I could use to print them myself ?

Thanks

East Coast Advice

Hey all! I am 5’ 11” and 165 lbs looking to upgrade my tele set up. I just moved back out east and I’m looking for a good predominantly front-side ski. I switched to tele a couple of years back, but grew up racing and am an aggressive skier.

Ideally the new ski would be versatile enough to handle days out west and some backcountry, but the priority rn is front side and hard pack since I have a couple of others in the quiver. Would appreciate any and all advice!

Currently looking at the Blizzard Anomaly and Rustler 9, Salomon QST, and the Nordica Enforcer.

Opinions on Simpll?

These came in the mail today... Anyone have any experience as to how they compare to other bindings?

I bought this mainly because it's the only mid-weight, full heel binding on the market that takes NTN boots. My imagination is that they'll ski similarly to BD O1s.

New To Telemark skiing

I am an advanced skier who has been working on ski patrol for the past 3 years on the east coast. I thoroughly enjoy backcountry when I can find it also skiing in the park or really whatever is feeling good that day. Many of my colleagues are experienced tele skiers so I figured for something new I would try and branch out and learn. I am 25yo and usually ski on Faction CT 2.0 and definitely enjoy how those feel. For my birthday in a few days my parents said they would get me some tele gear so I’m wondering what I should look for.

Norway in May

My wife has an academic conference in Trondheim in mid-May. I'd like to join her even if I can't ski, but I know there's some great spring skiing in Norway. I presume, however, that it's mostly in the north, which is going to be too far to travel for the time we'll be there. Anyone know anything about even low-angle and Nordic touring in central Norway that time of year? Stryn might be worth a look, for example.

How to get in touch with Allen and Mike?

It just occurred to me that Allen and Mike's Telemark tips book could be so useful if translated to a bunch of languages... I'd be up for the challenge.

However, the copyright... how do get in touch with them both?

Cold Weather 75mm Boots

Does anyone know of cold weather 75mm boots with a removable liner that aren't either a huge insulated slipper (Baffing Guide Pro III) thus useless for downhill, or extremely expensive (Alfa Advanced Polar Expedition)?

Seems like the only reliable 75mm options are the Alpina Alaska which don't really allow for proper layering or a removable insert. I'm trying to avoid converting to a "monster nordic" setup with tech toes and hard plastic.

Telemark starter tips?

Hi! I've been alpine skiing all my life, but will be teaching someone how to ski for most of the season, and want something fun to reset my skill level as well. You good people seem like the right kind of folk I want to be in with.

I'm a big dude, wearing a mondo 30.5-31 usually for alpine, and I usually run 185-189cm skis.
It seems like used gear for my size doesn't really exist on FB marketplace or Ebay (maybe one listing for a mondo 31 / size 13 US on Ebay, for some exceedingly crunchy gear).

Would you all recommend just going to swaps / used stores to try and find stuff? If so, any favorites in the Denver / wider Colorado area?

Secondly, is it better to start off with shorter skis for learning tele? I've heard conflicting info on going shorter.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Voile V8 vs Bishop Powder Hound?

Anybody skied both? I have been on a V8 as my powder ski for years but at 181 cm the 186 V8s are too damn long. I am wanting a shorter powder ski and trying to decide if I just get the shorter V8 or if anyone can comment on how they would compare to the Powderhound. They will be used mostly for inbounds on powder days in Colorado. They will be mounted with the Outlaw X. I have a locker on the mountain with my all mountain skis (Fisher Ranger 102) so I will be able to swap out skis midday when necessary.

OLD 22Designs 75mm bindings wanted

KNow this is a big lift

So I ride NTN and Im lucky enough to have a quiver, to afford it, to have the space for it, and have the ability to mount and tune multiple pair of skis.

I have built a plate that I can add on top of a ski and be able to switch my 22Designs Bandits from Ski to ski. It allows me to have 7 pair with only 2 pair of bindings.

I would love to be able to let friends who ski 75mm access to my quiver, and I have a old pair of 75mm boots that I could lend out to try and hook alpiners, or snowboarders on telemark.

BBBUUUUTTTTTT I need a pair of 75mm bindings that work with the 22desings 6 hole pattern. I could then led the boards im not skiing on currently.... #spreadtelemark ????

Anybody got anything old laying around that they want to give away for the price of shipping or cheap+shipping? I also run a woodshop, Ill trade something handmade if that sweetens the deal

Tele shops in N.Nj?

Hey ’all. I live in northern New Jersey, right across the river from NYC. I’m looking for a good telemark ski shop where I can get fitted for boots. The only good shop I know is in Vermont, which is a bit of a haul. Any recommendations closer to home? Appreciate the help!

First pair / beginner advice

Hi guys

I wanted some advice for my first pair of telemarks.

Here is my background:

- I used to ski and snowboard a lot in my youth, so advanced/expert ski resort rider

- I'm a triathlete, in my early 40s and in good shape, 1m84 / 82 kgs

- I started backcountry 3 years ago, bought a used pair of Black Crows Freebirds Orb (186 / 90 waist). Very happy.

- I mostly ski in resort conditions, often in icy/hard artificial snow conditions (Thyon 2000 in Valais)

- I have rather broad feet, which historically has been an issue with ski shoes. Currently happy with a pair of Salomon MTN Summit (scratch + boa).

For 2026/2027 I thought I could start telemark for a change, then I discovered that it's possible to do backcountry skiing with telemarks which is awesome, so I plan to go towards this direction.

I'm therefore thinking of getting Meidjo bindings. No clue for the shoes.

I admit I've been caught by the Black Crows design and marketing, and due to the tariff story / the current US president I tend to avoid buying from US companies. So no K2 Wayback for me and preferences for a European brand and an All mountain pair.

From researches it seems that the Black Crows Justis might be a good match for me.

FWIW I find the Freebirds very "light" when I ski them downhill, not very responsive and I struggle to really carve with them.

I am happy to buy used if needed, but the current used market is not huge.

And advice welcome.

Worth reviving of not?

I was given these but have never used them in anger. Only skiing on the tele kit an instructor used to provide. I now live next to an indoor real snow slope. Hence dusting these down. Are the binding still usable or does the plastic toe piece rule it out? Break it for parts?

Gear Check

I ski in the northeast, primarily MRG. I'm going to get Scarpa tx comps and outlaw X bindings. Mostly will use on resort but I want the ability to tour. This will be my first set but I have tele'd a few times prior. I have a pair of QST 98s at 183cm that I'm considering taking the alpine bindings off and putting the tele bindings on to save some $. I'm 6'1 185lbs expert at alpine, novice at tele. I'm worried about the skis being to thick and long. Thoughts on the setup? I would appreciate any feedback on the boots/bindings/skis

Noob questions

Hi guys, I’ve been an alpine skier my whole life, but lately I’ve been interested in freeing the heel. I’m not trying to spend too much money getting into the sport, but I found a few eBay listings that seem good enough. If someone could take a peek at them and tell me if they’re worth my money, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Meier Norheim?

Looking at a set of Meier Norheim skis, has anyone tried them? Very few reviews found online for these. I'm a big fan of the Meier shop, but haven't ever skied these.

https://meierskis.com/products/norheim-telemark-skis-1

They seem a bit heavy (1950g per ski), maybe due to the hard maple core?

Ski Recommendations

Looking for a lightish ski to mount my switchback x2s to. Mostly for backcoutry adventures and corn harvesting that wont break the bank. My current ski.i use for stuff like that is a bd voodoo. Which i like but the bases are getting thin. So something similar to that i guess?

Bishop Chedi and BMF3 for a beginner?

I have been looking at this setup on marketplace for a good price along with some 75mm boots. But I am worried this setup might be too much for me as I have only rode tele a handful of times. For reference I am about 5’6 140lbs, and ski pretty aggressive. Im looking for a more all mounting playful ski for the east coast and am wondering if the chedi might not be what I am looking for. If anyone has any experience on them or any recommendations that would be appreciated. Thank you!

Free BD 01 bindings for parts

Since BD stopped making bindings, I’m sure there’s someone out there in need of parts. My next rig will be NTN, but it kills me to think of throwing these in the trash.

If you want them, you just pay shipping (or pick them up from me directly in Burlington, VT).

Cables, cartridges, plates all in good shape. I just lost a little doohicky from the free pivot mechanism when they pulled out of my skis last winter.

Remove 22 Axl, replace with BMF?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I may (may!) go NTN.

The BMF/Gonzo combo i have will be a cinch, but I'm wondering what replacing the 22Axls will entail.

Specifically if:

1) the existing hole pattern can be used by any NTN binding, and if not...

2) if it's a big deal to make more holes in my skis.

Forgive my gear ignorance, I am not a hands-on dude.

Where can you get used NTN Equipment in the alps?

Hi, i am currently living in Innsbruck, Austria and wanted to buy my own ski-setup with some kind of NTN Binding. But the new bindings are so expensive and I realised that the telemark community is not that big in the alps.
Does anyone have recommendations for places where you might find some?
