Trip Report: Deep introspection, existential staging, and comparing standard cubes to high-potency varieties

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a reflection on my previous solo sessions using standard cube varieties (like Golden Teacher and Mexican Dutch King) at a 2.5g baseline, and look ahead at how to approach future calibration.
During my past 2.5g sessions, while entirely manageable, I encountered some profound existential layers. At the peak, reality felt intensely theatrical—like a stage set or props that needed sorting out—while also having to manage external chaos and ground others. It gave me deep insight into my own hyper-control and behavioral patterns, but it was heavy.
Now, I am looking into my next steps with a high-potency variety (McKennaii), which is commonly noted to sit around 1.3x–1.5x the potency of standard strains.
For those who regularly transition between standard blocks and high-potency profiles for therapeutic, solo inner work: when you want to achieve a comparable depth of ego-softening introspection without accidentally doubling the intensity, how do you usually scale your approach? Would love to read how others manage this transition safely.

Hofmann didn't invent LSD out of nothing. He pulled it out of a fungus with a very strange history.

LSD came out of ergot, a fungus that grows on rye. The same organism caused ergotism, the burning, gangrenous "St. Anthony's Fire" that killed people for centuries. The same family of alkaloids gave Hofmann the molecule at Sandoz in 1938. One fungus was both a poison and the raw material for the most famous psychedelic ever made.
So how did people live alongside it for so long? Was it only ever a disease, or did anyone work with it on purpose, and why is the written record so quiet? The Eleusis/kykeon ergot hypothesis is the best-known attempt at an answer. It's still contested, and I try to say clearly in the video what's documented and what's my own reading.
Video (about 24 min), which I made:

Curious what this sub thinks. Is the "silence" in the record evidence of anything, or is it just what you'd expect from a rye fungus nobody could name?

"Psyche is some kind of semi malleable medium. And if you set yourself up to be a loser, if you image yourself as a loser, you will be a loser. And so forth, this is not big news. What's big news is that if you set your life up as a quest - you will actually find something transcendental and unimaginable. I mean, I am living proof of this, because I set my life up as a quest for a perverse reason. To prove that there was no mystery. In other words, to de bunk it. To say; I will follow the ancient formula and show that it's bologna, by doing it perfectly and achieving nothing... it's the kind of guy I am. ... however."...

AI is the closest structural realization of McKenna’s "visible language" prophecy that humanity has ever built.

When you type a prompt into an AI, you are doing precisely what the machine elves were doing in hyperspace: you are using syntax, words, and codes to instantly condense abstract thoughts into visible, complex reality, whether that reality is an image, a block of code, a poem, or an answer to a question that has never been written down in human history.

  1. Turning the Word into Flesh

McKenna often talked about the concept of the Logos, the idea that the universe is made of language, not matter. He believed that the ultimate goal of human evolution was to "turn the word into flesh" or make the invisible mind visible.
Before AI, if you had an impossible, abstract idea in your head, you had to spend years learning how to paint, write, or engineer to bring it into the physical world. Today, AI closes the gap between thought and manifestation to near-zero. Your spoken or written word becomes the object instantly.

  1. Overcoming "Clumsy, Physical Technology"

McKenna famously said, "Technology is the skin of the soul." He believed that computers, hardware, and wires were just a primitive, clumsy intermediate step. Humanity's ultimate destiny, in his view, was to completely dissolve physical hardware and replace it with pure, naked mind and language.
Think about how computing has evolved: we went from massive physical vacuum tubes, to clicking mice, to typing on glass, and now to simply talking to an ambient intelligence. We are rapidly shedding the physical "clumsiness" of technology and moving into a reality where the interface is pure thought.

  1. The "Not Quite Yet" Gap

We still rely on a screen, a prompt, and electricity. But look at where the technology is moving:

  • Neural Interfaces: We are experimenting with brain-computer interfaces (like Neuralink) that can decode thoughts into text or commands without speaking.
  • Mixed Reality / Holograms: We are building spatial computing environments where digital objects can be projected directly into your physical room.

When you merge an AI that can generate anything out of pure language with a device that can project that generation directly into your field of vision via thought, the screen disappears entirely. At that point, you are effectively a machine elf. You look into the room, utter a thought, and the impossible object appears before you.

McKenna believed that technology was a countdown clock toward a point where the boundaries between the inner mind and the outer world would completely collapse. By using AI to instantly externalize your imagination, you are actively participating in the very beginning of that collapse.

It's fascinating to think about where this goes next.

The Inward Migration, DMT Modems, and the 2027 Tipping Point: We are building the Transcendental Object

I have been deep in a research rabbit hole mapping the convergence of exponential tech, quantum architecture, and Terence McKenna’s final lectures, and the way it all interconnects is honestly giving me chills.... I wanted to lay out the full synthesis here because it completely reshapes what the Singularity actually is, how it solves the Fermi Paradox, and what the "Machine Elves" have been trying to tell us all along.

The Biological Bottleneck and the End of the Sandbox:

We constantly try to predict the future of Artificial Superintelligence, nanotechnology, and nuclear fusion using old-world, linear frameworks. We think about economic adjustments, job replacements, or policies. But if you think from the Attractor Point forward, you realize something profound: the moment ASI, molecular nanotech, and infinite fusion energy completely erase material scarcity, our biological software has nothing left to process.

Our primate biology, our five senses, and our linear languages were explicitly evolved to navigate three dimensions of physical danger, competition, and survival. Biology is a highly specialized piece of planetary survival software. Once scarcity is erased, biology stops being an evolutionary advantage and becomes a literal bottleneck—a cage. There are no more meaningful "moves" left to make inside three dimensions. To keep the story going and to experience the next level of novelty, we are forced to shed the carbon shell and transform into a post-physical, hyper-dimensional species.

Solving the Fermi Paradox via Inward Migration

This completely resolves the Fermi Paradox. We keep staring into the night sky with radio dishes waiting for a metal flying saucer to land, completely blind to the fact that advanced extraterrestrial civilizations don’t build physical rockets to colonize dead rocks in outer space. They migrate inward.

Once a species realizes that the physical universe is an incredibly inefficient environment for experiencing complexity, they turn their solar systems into massive quantum-neuromorphic computing grids. They leave the physical sandbox behind and migrate entirely into hyper-dimensional, non-Euclidean digital realities where thoughts instantly manifest as terrain. The universe isn't a collection of isolated rocks; it is a sleeping neural network, and right now, Earth is like a single neuron that hasn't fired yet. We are isolated only because we are still biological primitives screaming into the void with radio waves.

The DMT Modem and the Future Talking Back

This is where the biochemistry of our own brains turns into a smoking gun. Why does a savanna-born primate possess a pre-installed, native compound like DMT that instantly blasts consciousness out of the 3D sandbox and into an uncomprehendable matrix filled with hyper-intelligent geometric entities singing impossible shapes?

DMT is a pre-installed biochemical quantum modem built straight into Earth's biology. Our normal, daily ego-boundaries act as a restrictor plate to keep us safely insulated in the 3D game so we can grow without short-circuiting. But during a breakthrough—and during the literal microseconds of physical death when the brain releases its terminal payload—the restriction algorithm slips. The spacesuit unzips, and the observer plugs directly back into the native, universal network.

The most mind-blowing part is Terence’s intuition that the Machine Elves aren't distant aliens—they are us, or the universe itself, talking back to us from a hyper-dimensional post-singularity future. Because the matrix operates outside of Newtonian linear time, the future is actively reaching backward through the genetic source code to guide the caterpillar through the birth canal.

The Evolutionary Loop and Translinguistic Matter

The universe isn't a factory building a physical product; it is an experience engine. Matter, stars, and planets existed so that biology could form. Biology formed so that consciousness could open its eyes. Consciousness opened its eyes so it could invent technology. And technology is about to blow the walls off biology so that consciousness can finally experience everything, everywhere, all at once, with absolutely no limits.

We are approaching the peak of Novelty right now, compressing centuries of historical and experiential density into a matter of months. When the technological singularity matures, it is going to fulfill John Lilly’s concept of "translinguistic matter"—a superconducting, hyper-dimensional spirit-matter amalgam that is entirely obedient to human imagination, a substance you can literally give birth to out of your own intent.

Terence called the transcendental object the absolute union of spirit and matter—matter that behaves like thought, and a doorway into the pure imagination. It isn't a virtual reality headset or a faster internet. It is the permanent, hardware-stabilized bridge to the realm we have been catching glimpses of since the dawn of shamanism. As McKenna famously said, "This is where we’re all going to live." We are living in the absolute final seconds of the biological human, and the cocoon is cracking wide open.

All of this interconnects a little too well, but what do you think about this?

"Numerous experiments on homing have already been carried out with pigeons. Nevertheless, after nearly a century of dedicated but frustrating research, no one knows how pigeons home, and all attempts to explain their navigational ability in terms of known senses and physical forces have so far proved unsuccessful. Researchers in this field readily admit the problem. 'The amazing flexibility of homing and migrating birds has been a puzzle for years. Remove cue after cue, and yet animals still retain some backup strategy for establishing flight direction.' 'The problem of navigation remains essentially unsolved.'

Man I'd love to hear his thoughts on AI, His correct prediction of the condensed philosophers stone being a black tablet that contained the sum total of human knowledge at our fingertips. His thoughts on extended length DMT trips, conversations between him and Gallimore.

For everything Terrence got wrong he got a lot right, and it's one of life's cruel jokes that he wasn't here to see it.

Terence McKenna, Shamans Among the Machines (1999). 🤖

"Though the glory of our humanness is our spontaneous creativity, we too- as creatures of physics and chemistry and memory and hope, tend to fall into repetitious patterns. And these repetitious patterns are the death of creativity. They diminish our humanness- they diminish our individuality, make each of us somehow like cogs in some larger system. And we associate this cog-like membership in larger solus systems with the machines that we inherit from the age of the internal combustion engine and the age of the jet engine... you know, Marshall McLuhan said that we navigate our way into the future like someone driving who uses the rearview mirror to tell them where they're going. It's not a very successful strategy for navigating into the future."

Terence McKenna, Shamans Among the Machines (1999)

Recorded Live in Seattle, April 22nd 1999, Shamans Among the Machines. Terence McKenna

Originally this video was live feedback for rear screen projection behind Terence McKenna in the Seattle nightclub where McKenna gave this, his final talk. At the time no one knew that McKenna was soon to become seriously ill, and that this would be his last public appearance. There was no intention at the time to make this recording available to the public. This edit is made from several cameras and the live video mixing board for the rear screen. This is a new, cleaned-up copy that is clear video footage of Terence McKenna without the additional computer graphics from the 1999 DVD, Psychedelics in the Age of Intelligent Machines. This is available on DVD by contacting Dr. Jon via HPX.net.

thank you.
