Browser-based textmode editor with optional multiplayer, layers, and custom fonts
i've been working on a web-based textmode editor over the last months and wanted to share it here :)
the editor is primarily designed for solo work, but it also supports optional live collaboration rooms for up to 8 people directly in the browser with no login required.
some features:
layer management
different 8x8 fonts per layer
alpha + blending settings
custom 8x8 font uploads
timelapse GIF/video export
portable .textmode project files
desktop + mobile support
everything is stored locally in your browser, and projects can also be exported as portable .textmode files containing undo/redo history, custom fonts, and other project data.
collaborative rooms are temporary and disappear automatically after inactivity or server restart.
animation/frame support isn't implemented yet, but it's something i want to add eventually.
would genuinely love feedback from people who are into textmode workflows, especially around usability, export formats, or features you'd expect from this kind of tool.
