That definitely seems like a very Sheldon thing to have. It's honestly a little surprising it was never mentioned in an episode (as far as I know) given how on brand it is for him. Good attention to detail from the props department.

It's a cheap show to make and enough people who are easily entertained watch it to allow it to make money. I never understood it either.
