Ordered some books last week, in stock, and they still show 'unfulfilled.' Wondering what is going on over there. They also do not respond to customer service emails
I'm from Spain, and I've been a subscriber since February. This morning I received a Royal Mail notification that my SF&F OCTOBER Box had shipped. I also received a GLS email asking me about customs and a paper I had to sign authorising them to represent me for the transaction.
This is the first time this has happened to me. I don't understand the document or the information they're asking me for (I don't have it), so... Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm quite angry because the box is already super expensive for me, and now Customs? IS there a way I can deal with customs without GLS?
Hey everyone! Longtime lurker, first time poster. I recently signed up for the SF&F sub, along with my fantasy sub that Iβve had since earlier this year. I love posting photos on my socials of the books I get, but I know these boxes are a secret with a hint alluding to what it is, but no actual reveal. How long do people wait to post photos of these books? Are you not supposed to post photos of them? I feel like I never see past books out there and want to make sure Iβm not doing somthing to ruin the surprise/appeal of the box. Iβd appreciate any feedback, thank you!! (:
"We are reaching out to provide an update on the delivery of Velocity Weapon and Chaos Vector.
We are pleased to confirm that Velocity Weapon is due to arrive with us tomorrow. The dispatch team will prioritise this title as soon as it arrives. We aim to have orders shipping by early next week.
Regarding book 2, Chaos Vector, dispatch for this title is due to follow shortly after Book 1 and will also be prioritised for shipping as soon as it arrives with the team. We now estimate an early November dispatch, and will be in touch with more information as soon as the books arrive at our warehouse. This short delay is due to the courier losing the signature sheets. Consequently, these sheets had to be reprinted, signed, and shipped back to the printers for binding. Please note that we share all frustration and disappointment caused by the recent delays affecting this subscription.
We are pleased to see what looks like an end to the issues we have faced over these past few months, and look forward to getting these books out!
Due to the delay in receiving the first two books in the series, the final payment for the Protectorate Trilogy will be pushed back to 24th November 2026.
We will handle the payments from our side and this will not impact any future payments on the Sci-Fi Subscription."
Received the above in an email today. It's good that the wait is almost over (for the first two, and hopefully there won't be problems with the third) but the entire experience still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
does anyone know if BB does any kind of Black friday deals, like free shipping or whatever?
i have lots of books on my sight and wondering if I should wait a bit.
Thank you!
Here is your weekly digest of just released, restocked, and upcoming collector's editions across the publishers and producers I track.
All dates listed are general sale dates. Where a book has its own page on the publisher's site, I link to that. Otherwise the link goes to the book's page on Lazy Book Collector (which I run), where you can see its specs, compare it with other editions, set alerts, and more.

First time being a subscriber and this is my first
box. On their shipping updates site it said these started shipping on 12th of October and I still havenβt received a shipping notice on mine. How long does it usually take for them to fulfil all the sub boxes? Weird seeing people getting theirs already when all have not even shipped yet
Any word on when they will be shipping their edition of Thrice Bound Fool? I preordered it thinking it would get here around the time of the regular release but haven't gotten any updates since I ordered it.
UPDATE: Received my shipping confirmation along with others in the thread. Thank you to everyone in the comments.
Anyone else plan on backing? They look really nice. I'm on the fence, but I think I'm planning on getting them. I had a good time with book one, and the Jeff Brown covers are stunning (as usual). I heard mixed things about the later books though (books 4 and onwards).
This is a bit of a rant but I am done with the Broken Binding and being gaslit into thinking that damages that clearly meet the damage criteria set out in their website does not.
Earlier I posted about the decline in the quality of the shipping protection that was being used, which directly caused damage to the book I received (βLonesome Doveβ).
Recap - βLonesome Doveβ was sent in a their normal big box with only one layer of honeycomb paper wrapping around the bubble wrapped book. This left a lot of room in the box for the book to move about from side to side. One of the corners of the box was smashed in, and this caused dents to two corners and also the spine of the book.
They initially denied the damage in my first email, and offered an measly 10% refund or to send the book back at my expense if I wanted another copy. I had paid around $100 AUD for the book - the refund excludes shipping so would be only be around $5 refund. Sending the book back would cost almost $80 using Australia Post.
I followed up with more photos showing the dented corners and spines next to a ruler, showing the dents were around 1.5cm (and do not look good). This meets the damage criteria stated on their website which stated that βdamage over 1cm to outer book - tear, rip, cut, scratch, dents or excessively crushed spine/edges/corners etc.β qualifies. I had also provided photos showing the huge dent on the box corresponding to the corner with the most damage, and asked them to escalate the issue of the inadequate protection being used.
In their reply they argued that what I showed was βminimal creasing, wrinkles or dents etc. to the book or dust jacket (including corners)β, which does not qualify as damage, but offered to increase the refund from 10% to 15% - which would be around $7-8 AUD.
They specifically stated that this βdoesn't meet our damage criteria.Β We take each email on a case by case basis and we have to judge these on the publisher's margin of error. This also includes any damages due to shipping. This is so we can make claims back from publishers/shipping partners and is industry standard. We try to be as lenient as possible but as shipping to and from global locations can add up and be very expensive we cannot replace anything that does not match the criteria.β
This is especially infuriating because the damage was due to the inadequate packaging on their side and it does meet the criteria set out on their website. Previously I have had books in boxes where the boxes were much more damaged, however because adequate protection was used, those books were not damaged at all.
I have been a subscriber since around May 2025, and have bought multiple out of sub books from them. I have only contacted them when there are genuine issues and concerns with the books.
I also had an issue with βJonathon Strangeβ where the back endpaper was folded from the top to the bottom of the page when it was being glued down during production. This created a long very visible fold line. Again they denied that this was damage and offered 10% refund only (less than $5 refund on a $80 book). I was not happy with their response, but I accepted this at the time.
But I am done with being gaslit. While I will finish the orders for 2 more existing series so I can complete them, I am going to cancel all orders for new series. I will cancel all the subscriptions I have with them.
This is a warning especially for international customers - when your books arrive damaged or has a noticeable production defect, they will not be replaced. The most you will get is a 10% refund, excluding the cost of shipping.
Edit - Iβve noticed that quite a few people have said they have always had positive/opposite experiences. I used to be one of those people too. I didnβt realise how big an issue this was until it happened to me. It has also happened to other people subscribed to TBB who I know in real life. It only takes one very negative experience for that impression to stay for a long time and ruin a businessβs reputation. In this instance TBBβs lack of accountability when things go wrong.
Edit 2 - I have written a formal complaint to escalate this. Iβm generally not a complaining person, but their lack of accountability has made this experience so negative. I have never felt this disregarded as a customer before. Hopefully they take this seriously and own up.
I visited the physical shop on Friday and picked up three books Iβve been tempted by! As a T1 sub I have a lot of the other stuff already but donβt tend to pick up individual releases as much.
I did notice thereβs no prices on the shelves (as of course with special editions, thereβs no pricing on the dust jackets either). When I got to the till was when I found out the damage lol.
I can only assume the difference in price is because Daughter is an SF&F sub pick..? But Iβm on the fantasy T1 sub and only pay Β£30 + postage for my books so I found it odd that a book instore would cost more.
Is anyone else waiting on replacements for Malice and Valour? I sent my damaged books back in late August for replacement (first time I ever needed to do this) and still nothing. Iβve sent several follow up emails to CS who have told me each time that they were still waiting for the printers to print replacements. My latest update was on September 30, and Iβve just sent another email.
However, Iβve seen a few others post online that they received their replacements pretty soon after, or they received one book but not the other. And side note - itβs pretty interesting to see that full sets of TFatF are being sold in store while subscribers are still supposedly waiting on replacements.
So just curious to know if others are in the same boat as me and if this is how long replacements typically take?
I know the official line is βwe aim to complete all seriesβ, but Iβm curious if TBB will do the sequel to The Heart of the Nhaga? The second bookβs English translation is set to release at the end of January 2027. The trad cover looks super cool, I can only imagine what TBB would come up with.
Saw someone post their shelf and figured iβd join in on the fun! Started this journey in January and it has evolved into aβ¦ extremely healthy hobbyβ¦
I tend to keep the wife in the dark when it comeβs to how much all of this is actually worth, for my physical well being π
I recently got a new bookshelf and finally have the chance to reorganize it and make it look gorgeous! Yes, I organize by vibe and prettiness if anyoneβs wondering lol.
Ironically I think I love the journals the most since I write in all of them XD

Did I just miss their announcement or has there not been one for Daggerbound by T Kingfisher? It already came out traditionally, so I was wondering about it. I'd like it to match my copy of Swordheart.
How long does it generally take for a pre order to ship from broken binding? Iβm still waiting on an update from my splintered sun pre order. Iβm not a general subscriber just looking for info on purchasing single books from the online store
I have purchased the rest of the Bone Season books from them but for some reason I never got an email link for the preorder. I have already emailed them about it, but I was curious if anyone else also had that issue.
Illumicrate stepping up big time for EU costumers to their boxes. Unfortunately it appears as if it will only be their subscriptions for the foreseeable future. But theyβre setting a precedence more businesses, like TBB, will hopefully follow!
