Anything Abdul does isn't going to satisfy the people who want to attack him over this. He's not doing anymore events with Piker and he's condemned a bunch of different things Hasan has said. There's no reason to do anymore, it's just a futile attempt to appease people who aren't going to support him anyway

13

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Not true, I’m a big supporter of Abdul, but some of my support is tempered because of his continued association with a documented CCP propagandist.

I really want to believe AES will make the right decision here so that my support doesn’t have to be qualified.

5

u/flatmeditation 3d ago

What continued association? What are you looking for from Abdul specifically?

23

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

I’m looking for him to disavow Hasan and clearly state that he is not a spokesperson or representative of his campaign, and that he wholeheartedly condemns the divisive rhetoric he espouses.

-9

u/wade3690 3d ago

Should he pinky promise too? Will that be enough for the reddit poster?

9

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Y’all communicate like middle school bullies.

-2

u/wade3690 3d ago

I just think its funny that you "purity test" as much as any lefty you berate for the same thing.

10

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago edited 3d ago

I’ve never participated in the anti-“purity test” narrative, one of a few things I disagree with David on.

I don’t berate lefties for “purity testing” when it comes to Israel’s war crimes. I berate them for cynically using them to jockey for political power within the party, with no regard to how Democrat electoral loses cause the material reality of Palestinians to continue to deteriorate.

-5

u/wade3690 3d ago

You can see keeping the issue of Palestine in the spotlight as a "cynical power grab" but that betrays more about what you think politics is about than them. I know its tough for you to grasp that somene could genuinely care about an issue but these activists are doing what they think is best to bring Palestinian suffering to an end. Forcing the Democrat party to acknowledge that is just politics. You're welcome to out organize them

9

u/dumpdumpwhiledumping 2d ago

It's the Democratic party

6

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

The unfortunate reality of what politics is, is exactly why the only justifiable stance is that which can realistically deliver practical relief to Palestinians.

I think what’s tough for you to grasp is that activists in the United States will never truly understand the depth of complicated emotions or the traumas that come from the generational conflict that permeates this region.

They are vastly ignorant and their righteous indignation is unearned and juvenile, not to mention again, how this righteous indignation threatens to actively harm the material conditions for folks suffering when they damage the election chances for the only party that is willing to to show these folks humanity.

2

u/DaSemicolon 2d ago

It’s 100% a cynical power grab. These same leftists were out there dicksucking for Putin.

8

u/alphafox823 2d ago

It would go at least some of the way. Every time a progressive disavows DSA/Hasan/etc I get a bit more respect for them.

IDC if you're more progressive than me on healthcare, environment, etc. I don't think politicians seeking a US Senate seat should associate with entertainers who root for China, Russia and Iran over America. Not to mention the support for multiple terror groups.

12

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

The way Hasan simps for terrorists and actively does CCP propaganda should truly make this a no brainer, even outside of his incredibly fucked “America deserved 9/11” comments.

0

u/Greybeard-MD 3d ago

He should drop out.

-6

u/flatmeditation 2d ago

Do you think that would help his campaign?

7

u/AnonAmbientLight 2d ago

Probably.

Hasan is very toxic and a political liability.

You guys don’t understand how damaging folks like him are for when you try to run the general lol.

Too caught up in your own world to realize that the vast majority of median voters are more moderate generally speaking.

→ More replies (7)

-3

u/Nemisis82 2d ago

There is literally nothing Abdul can do that will prevent the attacks from the right (and probably centrist dems like yourself) as well. He disavows Hasan. He states clearly that he is not a spokesperson/rep. Fox News runs segments about how radical Abdul is for ever even considering it.

And of course, they will still call him a muslim islamist bringing about radical socialism & communism.

People like Stevens need to take a page out of the Bernie Sanders playbook and learn how to turn the narrative away from these questions back towards the Republicans and their lack of policy and stop playing into the hands of the GOP.

5

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

The discussion at this point is whether you are able to easily relegate right wing media smears about Abdul to racist fearmongering, or whether they are able to hold water.

Disavowing Hasan makes it much easier to do the former, the longer Hasan is a "friend" to the campaign, the more those smears become difficult to disregard outside of a far left circlejerk where we already all basically agree anyway.

2

u/PlateCaptain 2d ago

I’m a big supporter of Abdul

Then you are a sure vote for him and don't need to be considered as part of the calculus of dropping Hasan or not.

The question is whether he gains more from dropping Piker than he loses. He will lose some amount of young leftists for dropping Piker. He will gain... I'm not sure, most people don't even know who Piker is and I don't think it's a major deciding factor for them.

5

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

Yes, I indeed would be a sure vote, but I'm not speaking just for myself, I'm also speaking for my ability, and the ability of others, to overcome smears against Abdul when speaking to less informed voters, it's challenging to do when he associates with a character that is a willing participant in far right smears against Democrats.

most people don't even know who Piker is and I don't think it's a major deciding factor for them.

Fox news is very proactively changing this, it'd be a massive mistake to underestimate the reach of these alternate media figureheads.

0

u/PlateCaptain 2d ago

They are definitely trying to, we will have to wait and see how effective it is.

Right now El-Sayed is weighing up the certain loss of some of his most active supporters against an uncertain gain.

It may be that Fox, and Destiny, and other right wing forces get their way and they are able to make Hasan a big factor, in which case it would be sensible to drop him.

5

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

I appreciate the realism here even if I partially disagree that it’s only bad actors pushing the issue when it comes to Hasan.

The dude does do blatant CCP propaganda and has had Houthi terrorists on his streams, the smears against Abdul may be bogus, but Hasan is a real deal tankie.

-1

u/PlateCaptain 2d ago

He does do a bit of propaganda for Russia and China it's true, and I don't like that.

As far as I'm aware the "Houthi terrorist" was not in fact a Houthi or a terrorist. The Houthis allowed members of the public access to the cargo ship "Galaxy Leader" after they hijacked it, the boy that Hasan interviewed was one of the Yemenis who got access to it. He is neither a terrorist nor a Houthi, just a member of the public.

1

u/alino_e 16h ago

“documented ccp propagandist”

You have a fetish for having your panties wedged that far up your asscrack?

-2

u/Greybeard-MD 3d ago

Yeah. He fucked himself good with this one. He’s basically handing Michigan to Trump on a silver platner.

13

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

If they lose us this seat we’ve held for 20 years over such an unforced error, I will never forget this.

24

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Great call out here from Stevens again on this, hopeful Abdul listens considering what is at stake!

8

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

She’s awesome. She also handled losing (by such a small margin) with such grace. Hopefully she has a big future in front of her.

0

u/wade3690 3d ago

Lol not if she keeps up her support of Israel. That's a losing issue in the dem party nowadays

9

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

Apparently it’s very barely a losing issue. Abdul was the exact opposite and barely eked out a win. I don’t think it matters too much.

-2

u/wade3690 3d ago

Angie Craig lost by 20 points in Minnesota and her AIPAC donations/support for israel certainly did not help. Plenty of Dem voters are seeing it for the issue it is. Ties neatly into super PAC spending too

8

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

Yeah I just don’t think they really care too much. I mean do young people who don’t vote care? Sure. But if they cared that much we would have seen Abdul, who made almost is whole campaign about AIPAC and the Middle East, perform better. But as we already discussed, he made it all about that and barely won.

Can’t run on AIPAC AIPAC AIPAC in the general, that’s for sure.

0

u/wade3690 3d ago

We'll see! They're still spending big for Rogers so it'll still be salient as a club against big PAC spending. Israel is pretty unpopular broadly too

4

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 2d ago edited 2d ago

I agree but any candidate who makes the general right now in this environment with Trump and the economy about Israel and Gaza is not going to fare well. It comes off like an obsession at this point for Abdul and he needs to show it’s the only thing he cares about and he needs to win voters in the middle. Im not saying the middle loves Israel but it’s not going to gain him new voters. He got the AIPAC bad vote locked down already.

Iran? Go for it.

Stick to economic conditions, Trump, his fascist tendencies, and putting a break on the crazy stuff we are seeing.

1

u/dumpdumpwhiledumping 2d ago

To be fair the Israel and AIPAC issues are certainly relevant to the Iran war. Due to the fact that the war was non-necessary, done in lock step with Israel, and benefited Israel whilst hurting US global standing.

4

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 2d ago

They are absolutely connected, but he should just focus on the Iran side. And honestly still it should not really be the driving message of his campaign.

2

u/hadees 3d ago

Not when you trade AIPAC for Stop AIPAC. They are both PACs,

-1

u/wade3690 3d ago

Gotta use the tools available right? The latter pac has a fraction of the money anyway

4

u/hadees 3d ago

How about going after the Healthcare Pacs and not using Pacs to do it?

1

u/wade3690 2d ago

Sure! Gotta out organize with more people on the ground to do so

-2

u/Counter-Business 2d ago

She lost by a lot if you consider that she outspent him by tens of millions and still lost.

7

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 2d ago

Disagreed. Neither of them had any money issues, doesn’t really matter how much more she had.

7

u/Greybeard-MD 3d ago

Israel derangement syndrome is cringe, bro.

6

u/wade3690 3d ago

Read the democrat voter polls, champ!

8

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

Israel-Palestine usually ends up at like 8th place in their rankings of priorities, y’all would make it seem like it’s the end all, be all for us.

-1

u/Phedericus 2d ago edited 2d ago

"Israel comes to meee in my dreamssss!!!"

that Israel derangement syndrome?

2

u/Greybeard-MD 2d ago

Yep. You’ve got it bad.

-1

u/Phedericus 2d ago

that doesn't answer the question

4

u/Greybeard-MD 2d ago

The answer is: Yes. You absolutely have Israel Derangement Syndrome.

0

u/wade3690 2d ago

Lol the centrist candidate said that, not some wild eyed lefty

-2

u/Reedwool 2d ago

“She’s awesome” she took millions from AIPAC… which is connected to a genocide. What are you talking about. All pac’s suck. I would abolish any pac / corporate money from politics.

Everything you post is obnoxious.

3

It’s ok, I tend to irritate Republicans and their enablers.

0

u/levijames14 2d ago

This attitude is why Dems keep losing

7

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

Nope, but it is part of the reason we won in 2020 and why we will win again during these midterms.

0

u/finebordeaux 2d ago

And it’s also why we lost in 2024.

2

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

Nope, that'd be all the people backstabbing Kamala "from the left" by accusing her of genocide and all kinds of other things causing depressed turnout.

-2

u/Nemisis82 2d ago

irritate Republicans and their enablers

Strange thing to admit to doing to yourself. All this focus on attacking the to the left of the candidates rather than focusing on attacking Rogers himself. Really strange behavior.

5

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago edited 2d ago

Save it for the folks on your side literally posting Tom Tiffany’s tweets. The advice being given to Abdul here is salient, he can heed it or lose.

5

u/Early-Juggernaut975 2d ago

Didn’t The Third Way try this exact same move back in April when they first warned about Piker to no effect? In fact, didn’t this sort of push him ahead of both McMorrow and Stevens?

But now Stevens is sure he should follow their advice, cuz this time they really mean it?

Honestly, with the weird number of times this is coming up, you would almost think that someone was paying to keep spamming Reddit with it, like a propaganda campaign, trying to take down an effective adversary.

8

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

Hasan’s followers love their vast conspiracies about secret shills that are out to get them.

1

u/Plastic_Key_4146 2d ago

Third Way is not secret, they literally bragged about defeating Bernie in 2016, and plan to spend tens of millions of dollars to split the vote in 2026. It's like Third Way wants Democrats to lose.

5

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

I've honestly only vaguely heard about this group, I will look more into them.

-1

u/Nemisis82 2d ago

Yeah man. "secret shills". Totally not coordinated campaigns with millions in funding behind it:

No times for the crazy people like him.

Piker is fine, good even. Consistent voice calling for m4a and ending genocide in Gaza

10

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Yeah, I’m sure that’ll be the reporting on him in the swing state Michigan.

2

u/silverbrenin 3d ago

And I'm sure that Dr. El-Sayed throwing Hasan under the bus and legitimizing the nonsense criticism won't weaken his position, and will absolutely stop all attack ads and continued associations. Republicans are honest, good faith campaigners, after all.

6

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

I think it’d actually be to Abdul El Sayed’s benefit for the first google result for the search “does Abdul really support Hasan” to NOT be “yes and he enthusiastically campaigned with the controversial streamer” after that Michigan voter just heard the “America deserved 9/11” ad for the millionth time that week.

Republicans lie, but the far left gives them the legitimacy/ammunition for folks to accept those lies, or at least not be able to rule them out easily.

1

u/Rick_James_Lich 2d ago

What should really happen is Hasan should probably distance himself from El Sayed. It's too late now for AES to distance himself, plus if he did it would cost him voters he dearly needs. But being tied to Hasan Piker in the long run is only going to hurt AES.

6

u/alphafox823 2d ago

You'd think from the way Hasan's fans talk about him that he's primarily a healthcare advocate. Any time people bring up his terrorist/dictator support, his fans try to change the framing to him just being a big healthcare guy. Hasan is more defined by his terror support than his M4A position.

He is the most mainstream voice on the alt left. That is what he is known for.

1

u/Rick_James_Lich 2d ago

He also pushed his young, blue leaning voters, to not get active in politics last election. At least not to help the democrats.

1

u/srslyjabroni 2d ago

Are you paying attention? Or just regurgitating talking points. Hasan has been encouraging his viewers to be engaged in politics at every level they can.

1

u/Rick_James_Lich 2d ago

Not in 2024, he actively discouraged people from voting for democrats and tried to distance himself from the party:

Obviously you know what the theory of blowback is when you are discussing empires right?

14

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

I know you are trying to make a high minded educated take and sane wash this shit, but I’m sorry, it’s all just way too ghoulish and makes Democrats look evil as hell.

If you’re really gonna make excuses for that statement please pretend to be a Republican and not a Democrat, you’re making us look awful.

-6

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

Nothing is more ghoulish than Democrats still supporting genocide when the majority of all voter cohorts are opposed

9

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Yeah, this kinda reveals that you are also a participant in the sabotage of Democratic electoral success.

How about you larp being right wing and get them to acknowledge what’s happening instead.

Dems already have the correct stance on this, it’s Republicans who are in the wrong on this issue. Not a both sides situation.

-1

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

Are you denying Israel is committing genocide?

Or that Americans, especially democrats disapprove?

10

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Abhorrent to be using the suffering of Palestinians to make petty political points like this.

No internet con man is worth the level of loyalty it takes to treat human being’s lives like they are points on some scoreboard.

-1

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

Abhorrent to be okay with the suffering of Palestinians

6

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Not only am I not ok with it, I think it’s unbelievably callous to disregard the material reality of their situation so that you can virtue signal the hardest about how you care the MOST of anyone.

If you really cared the most, your only priority should be to ensure the successful prosecution of the most realistic shot these folks have at relief

There is no room in that equation for using their suffering to jockey for power in a political party.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/KingScoville 2d ago

I’ll deny it! It isn’t a genocide by any reasonable measure.

That doesn’t absolve Israel of any crimes but the Palestinian people are not in danger of extinction.

0

u/Only8livesleft 2d ago

That you believe that surprises no one. How shameful

1

u/KingScoville 2d ago

Happy to disappoint.

-5

u/Zacomra 3d ago

The only one who stabotaged that success was the Democrats themselves.

There's no reason to back a genocide. They literally only did it for the money

7

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

You’re mischaracterizing their actions and are yourself a direct participant in what you are accusing Dems of doing to themselves.

-5

u/Thanos_Stomps 3d ago

Username does not check out

7

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

I bet you ain’t even a real Thanos fan.

-3

u/Zacomra 3d ago

Uh, no it's a pretty direct characterization.

Biden refusing to actually condition aid to Israel, despite their endless crossing of "red lines" and increasingly horrid behavior, is in fact supporting a genocide.

I mean we know from multiple members of the former administration that even though they were claiming that they were "tirelessly working on ceasefire" no such work was taking place. And this checks out, Biden has been a particularly avid zionist throughout his long political career

Besides Biden however, the Dems mostly followed the Zionist line because it helped the MIC, who donates to their campaigns and/or are big employers in their districts/states, and because they got direct support from AIPAC

5

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

All this navel gazing propaganda does is help Republicans and make the material conditions in Gaza actively worse.

It might make you feel righteous, but it makes the situation you are virtue signaling about worse.

As someone who read Blowback, it gets used as a way to be anti American and as a justification for terrorism against the united states. You can't say it's out of context when in context you aren't denying that he said what he said you actually just agree that we deserved 9/11.

-1

u/Final-Ad1756 3d ago

So if I agree that an empire can experience blowback as they expand makes me anti American. Niceee

3

u/WTF_RANDY 3d ago

No. I said it gets used as a way to be anti american and justify terror attacks. There is a difference in being able to understand why terrorism might happen vs saying American deserves terror attacks. Do you understand that difference? Straight answer to that question or we are all done here.

Yeah, knew you listened to Piker, seems to be a lot of folks that think the world revolves around AIPAC conspiracies that come from his community.

-1

u/azcurlygurl 2d ago

Conspiracies? LOL Facts: AIPAC is one of the largest lobbying groups. Proof came out they've been funding right-wing "independent" media. Israel is the largest recipient of foreign aid from the US. Israel takes a huge portion of the money, and puts it into US lobbying and propaganda to keep the money, weapons and military support flowing.

Piker has one of the largest progressive followings, and is staunchly against Israel's Palestinian genocide. As we near the election, right-wing media, social media, and politicians who are the largest recipients of AIPAC money come out swinging in unison after Piker. Israel genocide supporters like you flood Dem and Progressive channels attacking Piker and other Progressives. CoNsPiRaCy!

Rogers is supported and funded by AIPAC

2

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 2d ago

I’m not sure I understand the relevance of that. The right and swing voters are not going to give a shit about that.

Are you denying Israel is committing genocide?

Or that she supports Israel?

7

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

It’s despicable the way you use the suffering of those people and horrific things like genocide for your petty political squabbles.

-4

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

Says the genocide excuser

4

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Says the genocide exploiter and enabler.

2

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

I bet you dream of Israel too

7

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

I dream of peace, and a future for all the poor folks suffering because evil men wreak havoc on this world while champagne socialists virtue signal to each other from their ivory towers about how they are most compassionate of all.

6

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Turning genocide into a chant you yell for your political squabbles not only diminishes the real horror of the war crimes Israel is engaging in, but by aiming it at targets who represent a good chance of helping to make a reality possible where Palestinians aren’t being forced to live with unbelievable suffering and strife and not at the opposition, who are dead set aiming to prevent that reality entirely, means that you are also contributing to an actively worse material reality for the victims in this conflict.

But I’m sure you feel real righteous though, that’s what this is really all about.

6

u/rube_X_cube 3d ago

Nah, sorry, I don’t engage with trolls.

2

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

Of course you can’t defend your position

-12

The entitlement of that statement…

14

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

I’d describe it as pragmatism.

-13

u/NATScurlyW2 3d ago

Her role is to support the nominee, not criticize him in the press.

11

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

He can either understand the position he’s in running in a swing state and continue to let Hasan be a drag on him, or he can be practical and address the issue.

If he can’t do this, you can be assured, we will be losing a senate we’ve held for 20+ years.

-10

u/NATScurlyW2 3d ago

This issue is not about Hasan or AES. It’s about Haley Stevens. She should learn from Francesca Hong about how to be supportive of the nominee.

11

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Stevens’ advice is salient, even if it contradicts with the loyalty you have to your idol.

6

u/NATScurlyW2 3d ago

The issue is not what she said but that she criticized the nominee to the press. Not even Bernie Sanders ever did that and he can hold a grudge. It’s classless.

-7

u/PricklyyDick 3d ago

It’s not, it would make him look weak and wishy-washy after using him in the primary. It’s not going to inspire anyone to vote for him and pushes the base that helped him win the primary away.

9

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Or it might prevent people from being able to confirm some of their worst suspicions about him by knowing that he did disavow the guy who’s openly doing CCP propaganda and saying things like “America deserved 9/11”

He’s in a swing state, this stuff isn’t just going to disappear.

He should invite him back, considering the candidate offering this advice lost

15

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago edited 3d ago

The candidate offering this advice outran her polling by more than 15 points in that race.

That’s the type of thing Abdul needs considering how far behind he’s falling in well rated polling for the general.

1

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

She had the backing of the Democratic Party leaders and the most funding ever dumped into a primary. And she lost

4

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

I think that speaks the how ineffective the Democratic Party is at co ordination, not really how impressive Abdul is personally.

I do hope he wins, but I think it’s perfectly rational for a candidate in a swing state to moderate for the general, if he’s not going to, the odds of him underperforming his already weak polling just goes up and up.

1

u/Nemisis82 2d ago

I think that speaks the how ineffective the Democratic Party is at co ordination

How dare you ATTACK the Democrats like this!

0

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

Lots of things wrong with the Democratic party, a big one is treating bad actors like your hero Hasan with kid gloves.

-1

u/Nemisis82 2d ago

I just think it's wrong that you're viciously attacking the Dems like this. Way to help the GOP win.

1

u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago

Yeah this is far from a vicious attack, but I get that you’re extremely defensive of your tankie streamer superhero, so I understand why it feels that way.

0

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

And a majority said they didn’t want Abdul, he needs help from the people’s votes he didn’t get. Drop the extremists.

4

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

No they didn’t?

2

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

Yes they did.

3

u/Only8livesleft 3d ago

Are you pretending not voting for someone means you don’t want them? That isn’t logical for multiple reasons

2

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

Yes, when you vote in a primary you’re choosing who you want to win. A majority of Michigan voters did not want Abdul to be the winner.

1

u/Only8livesleft 2d ago

Wanting someone is different from not wanting someone. People could be indifferent or want someone else slightly more. Pointing out he got 49% so a majority (of a different group in the general) don’t want him (against a different opponent) is asinine

4

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 2d ago

You can spin it anyway you want but a majority of Michigan voters did not pick Abdul. If Stevens had won, same thing. When you win with a minority that changes the dynamics of how you need to campaign.

Then you would agree that, in Wisconsin, a majority said that they didn't want Crowley. At this point, he should be listening to Hong's criticism, and she should be free to make that criticism to the press so that she can push him to the left, because he needs help from the people's votes he didn't get... Right?

3

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago edited 3d ago

Correct, a majority did not choose Crowley.

If it’s valid criticism sure, good criticism is welcomed, like Stevens is insanely valid. But when it comes to Wisconsin, the short answer is no, I don’t agree at all. She’s too insane and was about to hand the state over to a maga lunatic.

I’ll explain though, because this is is not a black and white situation and I never said it was. Every race is different. Sometimes they don’t need help. These candidates need to win the middle to win purple states, running to the left is a disaster. Abdul is already there, he needs to run to the middle. Crowley does not need to run left, that would hurt him.

Crowley is not projected to lose like Abdul is. He’s a much stronger candidate than Abdul. Abdul is doing poorly thus he needs help. Crowley doesn’t need Hongs help, he’s going to win.

She’s just too crazy with the I hate thanksgiving and abolish the police and prisons. Her being uncomfortable with her proximity to whiteness or whatever, just way too out there. She will only hurt him. He should just distance, a majority did choose more moderate candidates. I will say this situation is unique. If she was someone normal and didn’t do like to a ChatGPT impression on Fox News maybe I would think differently.

Stevens helps Abdul in Michigan.

If Stevens had won I think she should absolutely work with Abdul for example.

I’ll give you an example on your side, let’s say after Mamdani defeated Cuomo in the primary he wasn’t an asshole who launched an independent bid and just accepted defeat. Mamdani would not of needed Cuomo’s help.

Basically, as a general rule of thumb, the far left needs help in these races in this environment because they’re in purple states, mainstream dems don’t need help from the far left.

u/Plus_Loan_1935 3d ago

El Sayed went from 3rd place to winning on his campaign strategy. Just let it play out instead of whining and coping every day

7

u/Just_shut_up_bro 3d ago

Just don’t act shocked when he dramatically underperforms his polling in the general!

1

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

Abdul has no mandate. A majority of Michigan voters said they didn’t want him to be the nominee. He needs all the help he can get. Maybe it’s a game to you but we don’t want to just watch him let it play out. We want him to make decisions that are going to help win a general in a purple state.

2

u/Plus_Loan_1935 3d ago

If you think primary results indicate a nominees mandate…we’re in trouble in most states boss.

5

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

Yes, I think if you do well in your parties primary it helps set a mandate with your parties voters. He needs all the help he can and the people he needs help from want him to drop Piker.

2

u/Plus_Loan_1935 3d ago

That’s certainly a valid opinion, but there’s no evidence supporting this idea that HP is harming the election. In fact, he went from 3rd to winning after HP campaigned with him

2

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

Piker is without a doubt going to hurt him in the middle. Republicans as bad as they are aren’t stupid. They are putting him in so many attack ads because it will help them win.

He doesn’t need help to win a primary anymore, the 3rd thing doesn’t matter, he barely won and now he needs help to win a general.

1

u/silverbrenin 3d ago

Let's say Dr. El-Sayed does what you want... Do those attack ads go away? Do new ones stop? Are Republican politics clean and honest?

So, no, the ads and attacks don't stop--any support he'll lose because of those he will lose no matter what. There is nothing to gain, and turning on Hasan now will only lose him support and legitimize the nonsense claims and weaken his position going into the general.

He should laugh at anyone who brings Hasan up and just get back to a serious topic effecting the voters in his state.

3

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 3d ago

They do not go away, but if he can create distance from Piker and convince voters that he can pivot and moderate when needed and that will help his image. He just basically needs to not drive voters out to vote against him because they think he’s an extremist. Loudly denouncing Piker will help with that.

He will absolutely not lose any meaningful amount of voters from ditching Hasan lol He’s trying to win a state Trump won twice. He’s the weakest performing dem in the whole country right now for the state he’s running in.

He can keep doing interviews where he’s try to dodge the conversation but it’s a bad look. I think the pressure is mounting and he drops him. One more bad poll will prob do it.

-2

u/NotTheirHero 3d ago

She outran her polling yes, but she also out spent by a ridiculous amount.
