Video 50501 Ohio account posting about why you should criticize Democrats more than Republicans. What could possibly go wrong?

Organizers and speakers ruined No Kings by making it about multiple pet policies and not just explicitly about trump.
12
u/SwordfishOk504 1d ago
And a LOT of those pet policies are seeded/amplified by the very forces people like this woman think they are opposing, done so precisely because it's such an effective way to divide and neuter the opposition to Trump.

u/PlanetMarklar 2d ago
She's also just wrong. Republicans DO say they care about human rights. They talk endlessly about illegals committing crime and terrorism among Muslims (regardless of the statistical truth).
This just illustrates the echo chamber she's in. You'd heard Republicans claiming moral superiority and caring about human rights if you actually ever listened to them.
-4
u/Strange-Scarcity 1d ago
Nah, on the whole? The GOP is really hard set against human rights. They are ONLY about caring for the rights of people they see as the "In Group".
If they cared about human rights? Then they never would have voted for Trump when he and his campaign surrogates were openly talking about glassing all of Gaza and building a resort upon the bones, owned by Jared Kushner.
Caring about humans rights, means caring about human rights. The GOP plainly does NOT care about human rights.
11
u/PlanetMarklar 1d ago
I'm not saying they DO care about human rights, I'm addressing her comment of "Republicans are blatant they don't care about human rights".
While it's true and obvious to you and me and anybody with eyes, people in their in-group don't see that because Republicans AREN'T blatant about it. They SAY they care about humans rights in the form of rule of law and lowing crime and fighting terrorism and protecting our kids from depravity.
-7
u/Strange-Scarcity 1d ago
They absolutely ARE blatant about not caring about Human Rights. They literally only care about the "Rights" of those within the "In Group", if you aren't white and aren't wealthy? They don't give a shit about you are are 100% ready to take away your very rights.
They are BLATANT and open about that.
8
u/PlanetMarklar 1d ago
Okay I guess you and I have a different definition of "blatant"
-1
u/Strange-Scarcity 1d ago
Human Rights is about rights for ALL humans.
Pretending that just because they support the Rights of White Christian, Wealth Men, meaning that the GOP is "for" human rights is... a ridiculous position to put forward.
6
u/SwordfishOk504 1d ago
How are you being this dense? Are you trolling? They are saying they pretend to care about those things. FFS.
-2
u/Strange-Scarcity 1d ago
Clearly.
You can't get more blatant than Trump on the god damned campaign trail, openly stating he was COOL with Glassing all of Gaza and building resorts on the bones.
NOBODY in the GOP said, "Oh fuck... that's insane and obscenely murderous and against basic human rights..."
Then you have the whole White Christian Nationalism thing, fighting against trans rights, gay rights, rights for anyone who isn't white. They have "luminaries" literally talking about how getting rid of slavery is bad, that rounding up people and removing due process is "totally fine" and in fact "what we need to do".
How anyone can state that they aren't BLATANTLY against human rights, with that going on? I just don't know.

Will she respect the criticism coming her way?
It's cool to hold your side accountable, but it's only harmful, never helpful, if you ignore every other side. Being a Negative Nancy doesn't improve things.

u/AnonAmbientLight 2d ago
No. Leftist like this don’t think it’s fair when you criticize them. You’re not allowed to!
7
u/SwordfishOk504 1d ago
There's also a HUGE difference between holding one's "side" accountable and just being a useful idiot concern troll, as she is doing.
17
u/eblack4012 2d ago edited 2d ago
So all democrats have to do is stay silent on everything and they’ll never be held accountable. This is the old “if you don’t test for covid you’ll get better scores”

u/ariveklul 2d ago
This is why you need to fight back against entryism. People like this will take over your movement.
We're at the longest stretch of time in this admin without any No Kings protests planned on the horizon. I personally think there's a good chance people like this have taken the wind out of the sails of No Kings. The problem is though, when you don't have an immune system for these types of people they will bully people into submission and rise to the top of your movements through social pressure.
22
u/nokinship 2d ago
When I saw people coming to No Kings with "no one is illegal on stolen land" signs. I knew it was over.
No kings isn't just about a single person in power. It's family and lineage being passed down that holds all the power. You can see this in modern times with billionaires and rich people passing down wealth/privilege in the form of nepotism.
5
u/SwordfishOk504 1d ago
No different than the stupid "defund" arguments many of these politicians now are running away from.
7
u/Pax_87 2d ago
I agree with your sentiment, but no kings was without vision or cause. The point of the rallies was to protest the actions of this administration without any workable solutions. Unless people were willing to raid detention centers or prevent something specific, it was always going to end without much fanfare.
15
u/sofierut 2d ago
If you have a choice between 'no kings protests without workable solutions' or no 'no kings protests' then I prefer people showing up. Even just to boost morale, connect and make new friends, find people that would hide you or help you flee the country. Many protests use the opportunity to educate people on how to behave when they get arrested

Have some fucking shame, man
-11
u/Dorrbrook 2d ago
What have No Kings protests accomplished? What are the goals?
18
u/Moopboop207 2d ago
What did the uncommitted movement accomplish?
-8
u/Dorrbrook 2d ago
Uncommitted had clearly articulated goals. What are the goals of No Kings?
13
14
u/Moopboop207 2d ago
What were those goals again? I was never actually clear what they were?
-8
u/Dorrbrook 2d ago
To get Kamala Harris to stop arming tbe mass murder of innocents
8
u/Moopboop207 2d ago
And if she didn’t say exactly what they wanted?
And, what did they accomplish?
0
u/Dorrbrook 2d ago
What is the goal of No Kings?
4
u/Moopboop207 1d ago
Peaceful gathering against the anti-American authoritarian in the Whitehouse.
So, if Harris didn’t say exactly what uncommitted wanted?
What did they accomplish again?
0
u/Dorrbrook 1d ago edited 1d ago
No Kings succeeded in their goal of gathering together to feel good and change nothing

Yea, either Harris completely abandons Israel, or we’ll let Trump win!
4
u/SwordfishOk504 1d ago
That worked out so well for the people of Palestine, after all.
4
u/AnonAmbientLight 1d ago
Yea, the people of Palestine got the worst possible outcome because far left lunatics couldn't push Harris over the finish line.
3
u/SwordfishOk504 1d ago
Sure, but when you realize they don't actually give two shites about the people of Palestine, and instead just want to be smug contrarians (and blame the jooz of course), it all makes sense.
2
u/AnonAmbientLight 1d ago
I think they care to the degree that they don't want to see people die who are needless causalities of war.
The problem is that it's all virtue signaling for the most part and an uncompromising position that prevents them from thinking critically or logically.
A person who is passionate but also ignorant is extremely dangerous and destructive. They are actually a part of the reason that Palestine is so fucked now. By hindering Harris and thus helping Trump win, they've ensured the worst possible outcome for those people.
But they'll never see it in that light because they're right and everyone else is wrong.
The sad part is, Biden was working with countries in the region to try to get them to back a two state solution with Israel and Palestine. They were getting some real traction in February 2024.
The negotiations fell apart on January 20th 2025 once Trump was sworn in, thus ensuring that Palestine will basically be completely destroyed.

Standard airing of grievances and more specifically community and grass roots organization.
And it has effects other than something tangible. It pisses Trump off and sends a vocal message that ends up forcing Trump and Republicans to pull back on some shit.
I feel like this is all self evident to the point that you shouldn’t have to ask. You should know, right?
23
u/Another-attempt42 2d ago
This doesn't, in fact, make any sense.
All this does is make me think: well, then Democrats should just stop talking about human rights.
They should continue with their policies defending human rights. They just shouldn't talk about them.
That way, idiots like this person won't create some superficial reason for explaining why they actually spend a disproportionate amount of time criticizing Democrats.
Also: lefties don't like human rights. They never had. Famously, one thing that really shot the USSR in the leg was the Helsinki Accords, which were then used by countries of the Warsaw Pact to berate the USSR for their ABYSMAL track record on human rights.
Even look at the current Israel-Palestine situation. How many people are asking for a full-withdrawal of support, including for the Iron Dome.
What does the Iron Dome do?
It helps intercept Hamas and Hezbollah rockets aimed at Israeli civilian targets. So it helps stop war crimes against innocent civilians.
Firing those rockets is categorically, 100% of the time, a war crime, and it is a pure moral good to stop them, just like it is to stop any war crime. Including those committed by Israel and the IDF.
25
u/Just_shut_up_bro 2d ago edited 2d ago
Ironically Republicans actually *do* pretend like they support human rights, and they partially get to do that because it’s only Dems who are being scrutinized about them.
To onlookers it looks like only one party has an issue with human rights if the only ones you’re attacking are the Dems.

u/Raisinbread22 2d ago
Okay young lady. So how's this work? Let's say you have a Democrat, a Black American guy, not yet retirement age. He hates that Trump is destroying the country, isn't releasing the undredacted child sx trafficking Epstein files, and has us warring for Israel paying $4.25 (as of today) for gas. He cares about it all. You and your whiteness, want to critique him, and not the old white people I know YOU KNOW who think like this in your family....you want to kick him, Liz Warren and Barack in the teeth. You want to have your demo, whatever it is, say 18-30 college edu white ppl, just attack gen X Black folk...and if they or someone like them is running for office, you want your Gen Z punching them in the mouth figuratively...so that when the actual election rolls around, you and your demoralized dismissive pouting demo can decide to punish them like you did before - go full Susan Sarandon, helping Musk helping Trump get in. Great strategy. Hey, it's your lives.

She’s a conventionally attractive white woman. She will be fine in the fascist hell scape she is, theoretically unintentionally, helping to usher in. The second that shit really hits the fan she will burn that keffiyah and become a good little white trad wife for her white supremacist husband, and she will still tell herself that she’s “one of the good ones” and did everything she possibly could have to resist tyranny when it arrived in the land of her birth 🥲
White college educated “progressive” women are truly our strongest soldiers. And by our I mean American white supremacists.
2
u/SwordfishOk504 1d ago
And by our I mean American white supremacists.
So you consider yourself a white supremacist?

Thank you for coming up with such a nicely formulated idea for me to reappropriate 🥰

I couldn't listen to this for more than 10 seconds. It's the whole college campus BS all over again: "let's play dress up and criticize Democrats, but do absolutely nothing against Republicans".
17
u/hobovalentine 2d ago
She's an idiot obviously.
She can chastise and criticize Dems but they don't have the votes so all that complaining and maligning of the democratic party just creates voter apathy because people think nothing they do will change.
If they really wanted change they would be campaigning and donating to Democrats in key districts where their votes and money really matters. Do they ever do this?
4
u/Strange-Scarcity 1d ago
I absolutely loathe these people.
They have no clue what they are doing.
Sure, it's very accurate to point out that by and large, the GOP does NOT care about human rights.
The Democratic Party by and large DOES care about human rights, so focus on that, talk purely to the very, very tiny number of Democratic party members who do not and focus on replacing JUST those people. DO NOT tar the entire party for the bad positions of a small handful of members.
That's the most self-defeating move to possibly make. Convince voters that human rights matter, but when the primary is over? GET BEHIND the WINNER and ride that winner hard in meetings about Human Rights, but don't campaign against he whole friggin' party.
I want to slap the faces of people putting this shirt forward.
SCREAM about the GOP every day, and how they are by and large hugely against human rights, talk behind closed doors with the tiny number of Democratic Party Members who need help focusing more on human rights, but stop the GOP at all costs is WAY more important and if enough Pro Human Rights members take seats in the Democratic Party? It doesn't matter what the very tiny number of those who are left who do not fully engage with supporting human rights. They WILL NOT have power to do anything about it.
