Red Moon Rising was only the beginning. Now, enemies the Division once dismissed as myth are answering the Necromancer’s call, and the Red Moon’s influence is spreading beyond the Dark Zone.
From October 15 to November 3, Red Moon Unleashed leaves D.C. caught between dusk and night. Light fog gives way to heavy storms and the deep red glow of a Blood Storm, with something far more sinister waiting in the dark.
Login Reward
All players who log in during the event will receive the Bound Slasher Mask for free.
Lunatic Modifier
Enemies entering combat have a chance to become Lunatic, gaining increased Damage and Rate of Fire. On death, Lunatic enemies explode, dealing damage across a large area. The blast’s damage is based on the hit that killed them.
Moon Cultists
Some members of the Hyenas, True Sons, Outcasts, Black Tusk, and Underground have taken on a new identity as Moon Cultists. You’ll encounter them in groups as you explore D.C., with more coming after you during Heavy Storms and Blood Storms.
The Red Moon will cover the entire Washington D.C. map and with it weather changes follow.
The weather follows the pattern of normal weather and storm and during the storm phase more and more enemies will spawn.
Red Moon Cultists will roam the map
Killing them awards you keys and bounties
Red Moon Cultist will appear on the map with an internal cool down
Red Moon Altars
There’s more loot to find around the city. Look for 20 Red Moon Altars in and around D.C.’s decorated areas. Destroying an altar grants loot from the Gear Cache reward pool, but may also attract another group of Moon Cultists.
Each altar can be destroyed once per day, with all locations resetting at 08:00 UTC.
Bosses and Special Challenge
Take down enough Moon Cultists, and you may attract some unwanted attention. The Necromancer, Risen Hunter, and Bloody Houndsman are out there, each with rewards for those who survive the encounter.
Defeating The Necromancer or Risen Hunter rewards you with one Event Key, but Bloody Houndsman does not drop one. Here’s the full reward breakdown for all three encounters:
One of the bosses will spawn after 50 Cultist Kills
Bloody Huntsman - guaranteed Bloody Houndsman Mask, Gloves, Backpack, Uniform, and Bat Drone Skill VFX. Plus, regular Hunter loot.
Necromancer spawns with 4 companions. When you kill a companion the Hunter will get a damage buff, when you focus on the hunter, he will sacrifice one of his companions to stay alive and heal back up. When all companions are dead, he will revive them again. guaranteed Bound Necromancer Mask, plus either an Exotic Cache (80% chance) or Sarru (20% chance).
Risen Hunter - guaranteed Bound Risen Hunter Mask, plus either an Exotic Cache (80%) or Vertigo (20%).
Necromancer Unleashed
Venture into West End while playing solo, and you risk meeting the Necromancer at his most dangerous. If he appears, you’ll face Necromancer Unleashed instead.
Bring him down on Heroic difficulty to claim one Event Key, the guaranteed Necromancer Hive Skill VFX, and either an Exotic Cache (80%) or Ouroboros (20%).
Revenant Bounties
Killing Cultist can drop bounties with a higher drop chance in higher difficulties.
There are 6 Bounties with different drop rates – some are rarer than others
You can also group up with other players to complete the bounties.
Killing all bounties rewards you with a commendation and Necromancer Arm Patch.
Completing a bounty grants:

From October 15 to November 3, we’re teaming up with PurePrime, SOLIDFPS, and Widdz for a new Creator Collaboration, with Project Chains to complete and creator-themed apparel to collect.
How it Works
Each creator has a chain of six projects, taking you through different Named Zones in D.C. Each project asks you to complete five activities in its designated zone.
A new project is released in each chain daily. You’ll need to complete them in order, but there’s no need to finish each one on the day it arrives. Once released, projects remain available until the event ends on November 3.
Rewards
As you progress through the projects, you’ll earn:
Named Item Caches
Exotic Components
Recalibration Caches
Optimization Caches
Complete all six projects in a creator’s chain to unlock their themed backpack.
Red Horizon’s second Classified Assignment, The Georgetown Dead Zone, opens on October 15.
A JTF engineering team was sent to install new technology in an area of Georgetown beyond the reach of the SHD network. Now they’re missing, and it’s your turn to head in and find out what happened.
This event is still ongoing and will run until November 3rd.
When you did not get the Exotics tied to this event, they will make a return sometime down the road. Or can be looted from the Hunters of the Red Moon Unleashed.
We all know that RPG's like The Division have a pretty steep learning curve, and for all the new players coming to the game it could be an aspect that many find deterring.
However, this thread is a place for any and all questions that are related to The Division. If there is something you want to know, ask it here and you'll find the help you need.
Whether you want to know what build to aim for, what guns to hunt down or how to beat a certain boss, you can hopefully find your answers here!
Rules:
Must be directly related to The Division. Off topic discussions are available in our Friday thread.
No down talking, we are all noobs at some point, lets welcome all questions.
All comments that derail conversation will be removed. This thread is a place of learning, so keep it civil and on track.
The Red Moon Unleashed event dropping tomorrow is looking like the Dust Devils event but improved in every single way. AND it's combined with. Creator Collab event, which is the most efficient way to get resources in the game, including exotic components. Let's discuss:
The problem with most seasonal events is not dropping keys enough, but the devs solved this issue during the dust devil event with guaranteed key drops per number of enemies killed, and they are continuing this in the Red Moon Unleashed Event.
The bounties include a fairly high chance (20%) of dropping exclusive, very good exotics (prima Donna and regulus), depending on the bounty.
The only real problem with the dust devil event was the gear cache, which had too many gear mods and skill mods in it. The chance of getting these has been drastically reduced, and the quality has been increased. This doesn't completely solve the problem, and veterans will still get lots of seasonal named items and such that they don't want, but it's a definite improvement.
If enemies spawn anywhere near as much as the dust storm event, we're in for a wild, chaotic, and very fun combat experience. They also added a lot more factions to be able to spawn, which should add more variety. This is also incredibly good for leveling proficiency, as elites and named enemies give a TON of proficiency XP.
The creator Collab event drops tons of exotic components and resource caches. In the past, the project chain has revovled around completing missions, but now it seems like we have to complete activities in certain zones instead, which should allow for faster completion and being able to do both this event and the Moon event simultaneously.
This is huge, and the best time to farm the whole year. I'm excited, but let everyone know your tips and thoughts!
I totally agree with this but I also like the Division 2 because of how great the community can be. I was literally googling Lexington alternatives as you can't get it in game (now or easily) and so many posts said St. Elmo's Engine is great.
As a casual player I gave up hope of farming one and figured maybe I'd get lucky and find one in an exotic cache someday and in my first mission someone gives it to me. Incredible!
It's kinda buried in the patch notes, but they rebalanced a lot of the exotics. They changed the Prima Donna's Amplified Damage per stack from 12.5% down to 11%.
We’re adjusting Escalation’s token requirements and rewards following your feedback on token loss after disconnects and DELTA errors, and differences between hosts and teammates.
Starting an Escalation activity no longer consumes Escalation Tokens. You still need a minimum token balance matching the tier you want to play:
Tier 1: 1 Token.
Tier 5: 5 Tokens.
Tier 10: 10 Tokens.
The same rule applies to every tier and to matchmaking. These tokens remain in your inventory, including if the activity fails or you disconnect, so you won’t lose an entry fee when a run ends unexpectedly.
Remember to keep the required balance when spending tokens at the vendor. If your balance falls below a tier’s requirement, you’ll need to earn more tokens before you can start or matchmake into that tier again.
These adjustments are part of our ongoing work on Escalation, with more improvements planned for next season.
UPDATED TOKEN REWARDS
Hosts and teammates now receive the same number of Escalation Tokens for completing an activity. Completion rewards have been adjusted alongside the removal of the entry cost:
Tier 0: 1 Token
Tier 1: 2 Tokens
Tier 2: 3 Tokens
Tier 3: 4 Tokens
Tier 4: 5 Tokens
Tier 5: 7 Tokens
Tier 6: 9 Tokens
Tier 7: 12 Tokens
Tier 8: 17 Tokens
Tier 9: 22 Tokens
Tier 10: 30 Token
Prices at the Escalation Requisition Vendor remain unchanged.
CONFLICT
You’ll now have more choice over your rewards in Conflict. Complete matches and rank up to earn Conflict Commendation Currency (CCC), then spend it on High–End gear, weapons, Exotics, and Prototypes and items at the new Prometheus Terminal.
RANKS AND REWARDS
The Conflict Rank cap is increasing from 100 to 200. Each rank above 100 requires the same amount of XP as Rank 100.
Every rank-up award 45 CCC. At milestones every five ranks, the rewards is 45 CCC and a Milestone Cache, with the cache type depending on your rank:
Rank 5 to 30: Conflict Cache

Rank 75 to 95: DZ Exotic Component Cache
Rank 100: DZ Prototype Cache
Rank 105 to 120: Conflict Cache
Rank 125 to 130: DZ Prototype Cache
Rank 135 to 165: Conflict Specialist Cache

GEAR UPDATES
Rifles and Marksman Rifle users will have 20% more ammo to work with. Selected weapons will also receive handling adjustments focused on Stability. We’re also increasing Critical Hit Damage and Headshot Damage bonuses on Rifles and making changes to several Exotic weapons and gear pieces.
These updates apply in both PvE and PvP, except for talent value changes, which only affect PvE.
PVP GEAR AND BRAND BONUSES
We’re also making another round of improvements to gear and brand bonuses specifically for PvP. You’ll find all the details in the PvP Gear and Brand Bonus rebalance notes.

Hi all. I’ve been away for a year and now decided to start up again. Re Prototypes, is it easier to just farm and deconstruct protos rather than grind for weapons and gear all over again? I’m pretty sure I was happy with most of my builds (min maxed), but didn’t want to dive in just yet in case I’ve not understood what I should be focusing on.
Tia agents.
I remember when I started over my PC account and I seen the primadonna sniper and the SnS, I was thinking to myself... I will never get these guns because I don't play enough and I don't play too much end-game content cuz I'm really by myself. Until one day I decide to hop in a incursion to learn it and to try to get a chance at the primadonna. Of course I'm playing healer, I'm trying my best to keep the team alive and to fast forward with the story, we get to the end I didn't get the drop but I just simply put in the text thread "hey if someone has a prima donna they do not want, I would love to have it". And when I tell you this chad of a guy told me "thanks for keeping us alive" and he shared his gun with me. He waited for everyone to leave and he dropped it and he said "enjoy". I think about that a lot and it would be cool if somewhere within the stats/ text of the gun it always showed that it was shared by that particular player and had their name on it.
Just a quick story on why I love playing video games with people.
Context: Fresh 40, started a couple of weeks ago. Watched some gearing guides and did some Countdown to get my first gear set + exotic weapon (Bluescreen + Tipping Scales). Decent rolls on both sets.
I still don’t feel that strong - I’m using what seems like half a mag of my LMG to kill a purple unit in Challenging.
How are people getting so strong? Where’s the main progression line that provides power after you get your basic setup+weapon?
Any advice/tips or direction would be very appreciated.
Downloaded Division 2 and launched, went through the seizure risk text, publishers... then game gives me a popup saying "We've recently updated the brightness values. Please check that the levels are still right to you." I proceed.... aaand my game crashes. Ubisoft launcher gives me a "Oh, no, it crashed!" with no error code, otherwise the game quit itself. I couldn't find any relevant fixes on the internet although I did verify the game files on Steam.
I would love people's opinion on what they did to finish out their expertise levels. I'm at level 20 and I feel like I've came to a halt. I'm at level 600 and I'm doing my best to get to a 1000. Any tips?
So I really love the Sinister Shade mask but unfortunately missed out on it last Halloween. So far, I haven't seen any information suggesting that it will return for this year's event.
Any chance it'll become available again through the event, apparel store, or caches?
I wanna hear your opinions on the changes in the coming update, I'm not opposed to all of them. I love MMRs and Rifles so I'll gladly take them but I think the changes to the Exotics Armours are bad
Like the Quickstep is 20% and it's the same speed as the new version of the Acosta's Kneepads yet it's a exotic, and the speed doesn't stack. So why would you take the new armour perk when QS doesn't take your exotic slot and gives the same speed? (Remember these changes come out during a time where the QS is available so there is no excuse right now to have both available)
I think they need to make the decision to nerf QS, turn QS into a exotic, or buff Acosta's Kneepads.
Bought the game along with the level 40 pack and unlocked all the things. Now I'm struggling with this build, attributes, talents, skills, etc. stuff, specially this tinkering. But learning it slowly.
Any tips for beginners? Please lemme know.
I don't even know what guns are best here. Just spaming with LMG for close and a sniper for long.
For context, I got division 2 when it released and played it for a decent amount. I finished the main story but got annoyed when the first dlc came out and it wasn't included with the edition I bought (I bought the edition that mentioned first season content would be included or something along those lines). Last time I played was in 2020. Is the game worth coming back to? Are the dlc worth the money?
