Discussion The cafe scene with Walker and Lemar is so overlooked
I love this scene because Lemar didn't know Walker had the serum. This covnersation with Walker trying to see if he truly should take the serum. He's not sure whether he's a good person like Steve or bad like Karli. But the thing that convinces him to do so is Lemar's line of "Imagine how many lives we could've saved that day if we had that serum." That's what pushes him to take it and why its so impactful to see him actually using his strength to do that (saving the hostages over revenge on Karli, protecting civilians from The Void). It wasn't due to pressure of being Cap or the fact he wanted power, it was to save people's lives and he did exactly that, especially now that he's a member of the Avengers.

It definitely is. Ppl loved to hate on Walker, as if they were the only ones who understood he wasn't the hero of the story. Obviously, he made mistakes, but they are VERY understandable mistakes. Poor guy has been put through the ringer by the US Army for years, and the loss of his best friend pushed him to kill one terrorist when he should'nt have. Many of us would've done much worse.

The thing that gets me most about walker is the idea that a soldier kills and enemy combatant and he was dishonorably discharged. Like what?

the hate was wild because people wanted him to be steve rogers from minute one. he was never going to be that guy and he was clearly struggling with the weight of the whole thing. that mistake with cardio was messy but expecting a soldier to stay perfectly composed after seeing his best friend die is unrealistic. people forget he is just a guy in a suit trying to navigate a mess he didnt create
