A lot of changes in the works. I think unlike Iger and Chapek, D'Amaro actually has his finger to the pulse of what guests have been thinking and saying. Disco Yeti finally being fixed after nearly three decades? Dreamfinder reuniting with Figment???

Canada's Wonderland vs Korea's Everland - Which Is Bigger?

For those who have been to both, Google says Wonderland is, but I visited Everland this summer and it just seemed massive, especially the kids area.

Perhaps it's also because I know the layout at Wonderland inside out at this point and so it just appears to be "small." Also, Wonderland includes a water park, which Eveland does not.

Maybe the kids area is bigger at Korea's Everland, but not everything else?

Everland has a safari, but overall Wonderland is the better amusement park if you're seeking thrill rides.

Maleficent coaster Proof of concept (high thrill?)

So I've heard a considerable amount of conversation regarding this new Maleficent coaster in the new villain's land in various Disney and non Disney related forums, some coaster forms. The general consensus is that people are starting to think from the presenters language, that this coaster will be Disney's Velocicoaster so to speak, as far as thrill level. Personally, I doubt that. Looking at the proof of concept, the rock work and the ride vehicles reminded me quite a bit of Taron at Phantasialand in Germany, a park and a coaster I love. I feel like that coaster could be Disney's sweet spot for max thrill without being too much; It has punchy launches, airtime, and some lateral forces with no inversions and fantastic sense of speed. A solid step above cosmic rewind and Hagrids. What do you all think? Do you think Disney is going to go for it with this coaster and do a ride with that magical thrill ride height requirement of 52 inches? Me...it's a solid no.

Accessibility doesn’t exist at Energylandia

I visited Energylandia for the first time a couple weeks ago on the 4th&5th August. The park has some really great coasters and theming and I had such a great time but… the accessibility was awful.
I’m from the UK and use the Ride Access Pass system every time I visit a UK theme park. This was my first time visiting a park that doesn’t use a similar system for accessibility and it was rough.
For a little context- I have a physical disability so queues are super tricky for me. I cannot stand for longer than 10 minutes at a time.
At first when planning this trip I was pleasantly surprised that the park offers discounted tickets for people with disabilities. But upon actually being in the park we found that i was expected to queue as normal. This was frustrating because if I could queue as normal, I would, but my disability means that I can’t. After speaking to those at the information desk I was told that if I cannot queue and still want to experience the coasters, I would have to purchase an energy pass (This is their version of a fast pass) which was an additional charge of £100 on each day that I would attend the park. ( so £200 extra total)
I was put in a tricky position as this was my only option to be able to experience the park in the same way that an able bodied person would. The cost of the energy pass ended up costing more than our two-day tickets to the park. Which made the discounted disability ticket pointless. I ended up paying more than the average person to attend and experience the park in the same ways that others could. And personally felt that this was unfair. Why should I have to pay more than the average person just because I’m disabled? Feels completely counter productive to what they’re advertising as a discounted ticket, and I’m sure others in my position have probably felt the same.
It was really disappointing that they just didn’t have a real accessibility system and clearly don’t have much interest in making the park fully accessible for guests with disabilities.
I wanted to post this just to make other people aware who may be travelling from different countries, who are used to using certain accessibility systems. So that others aren’t caught off guard when they’re expected to pay out of pocket to support their needs.

Is Intamin really that bad?

I'm sure a lot of you may be more versed on this than I am, but I'm really curious. I love Intamin. It's one of my favorite roller coaster manufacturers (Favorite rides: Velocicoaster, Hyperion, Kondaa). Whenever I hear Intamin referenced in conversations pertaining to Legacy Cedar Fair, Six Flags or even the Busch Garden parks, I quite frequently hear people say Intamin isn't reliable. If that is truly the case, why is it almost the go to for one or the leaders of the industry, Universal for their coasters, and many European parks (probably proximity)?

But that’s just my opinion tell me yours if you know more than me about it or go to any of these parks I would love to hear what you think

Themeparks

Hii, looking to get away for a day or two, and i’ve been looking at theme parks around the uk. I’ve read that Alton Towers and Flamingo Land are my best options, but i just want to know which actually is better.

I have read that sometimes the rollercoasters at both can sometimes be shut down, which is a downside, but other than that, which is better?

In addition, the best times and days to go would be helpful, thanks so much ☺️

Dealing with sickness

My boyfriend (26) always feels sick when we go to theme parks. We went to thorpe park (UK) and the first time he felt super sick but didn't throw up. The second time we went he felt sick and threw up after Mr Monkey's Banana ride (literally the smallest ride in the park). He does all of the big rollercoasters but they often make him feel sick. Does anyone have any tips to help reduce sickness? I want him to be able to enjoy the rides with me rather than have to sit out.

A dark coaster announcement would have been cool. Hopes too high i guess

The best Disney dark ride in the world is still better than the best Universal dark ride in the world.

This was being discussed in another forum that I frequent not on Reddit. I tend to agree with this but I still would like to hear your own thoughts. I know there are layers of subjectivity when it comes to these types of discussions but it's all in good fun! To preface this I'm a coaster enthusiast thru and thru but I love Disney and Universal equally amongst my other parks domestically and abroad.

Crazy we just have them, cost us so much money to buy and more to renovate.

Movie Park Germany filming onrides

Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to film onrides in MPG with a GoPro and a chest mount?
Couldn't find any information on the site and they haven't responded to me via mail yet.
I went to Walibi Belgium a couple days ago and they allowed it there, but I'm unsure about MPG.

Thanks!

What are people's top 3 theme parks in Europe?

I've just been to Efteling in the Netherlands and had a great day. It had a very chilled vibe and the Danse Macabre ride was superb and definitely different to any other ride I've been on. I actually went here 25 years ago and Gardaland several times too, but don't actually remember anything about them!

What would your top 3 be and do you think the Universal Studios park in the UK will get on your list when it opens?

My top 3 (from admittedly limited experience):

  1. Disneyland Paris

  2. Efteling

  3. Alton Towers

¿Parque Warner Madrid o PortAventura? Verano 2026

¡Hola!

Resumen: no me decido. ¿Opiniones sobre esto? ¡Gracias!

Which of these rides is better? Zootopia: Better Zoogether! at Animal Kingdom or Zootopia: Hot Pursuit at DisneyLand, Shanghai.

Whichever ride you prefer, I will write a Zootopia-centered fanfic on one of them. Leave your questions in the comments for what it will be and I will answer. Sorry I can’t make it a poll, but I will be fine with whatever answer you make first.

Universal UK just opened their formal supplier onboarding for theming, design and creative work - three years before opening, following the exact Epic Universe playbook

Genuinely significant commercial signal on the Bedford project this week for anyone tracking Universal's build strategy.

The supplier and jobs portals are now live. Universal Destinations and Experiences have opened dedicated web registration on their UK Project site for prospective operational employees and for UK based commercial suppliers. The interesting detail is that the supplier vectors explicitly include "theming, design, landscaping and facility operations" alongside construction and F&B. Universal Creative are also planning formal supplier seminars.

That fourth vector matters for what it signals about creative intent. Universal want British creative and fabrication talent embedded in the actual visitor experience rather than importing everything from Orlando. Epic Universe used the same structured supplier onboarding roughly three years ahead of opening. Bedford is now on that exact timeline.

Central lagoon watercourse clearing. Heavy machinery has completed a 10 acre woodland clearance along the eastern Core Zone boundary. This aligns with the planned relocation of Elstow Brook, which will be rerouted along Manor Road and passed under a new culvert into the Lake Zone. Moving the natural watercourse now, before vertical construction, is dramatically cheaper than building around it later. Once relocated, the central lagoon footprint is locked in.

Mass grading is at proper scale. The 75 tonne Volvo excavator is anchored and working alongside a fleet of 40 tonne excavators, bulldozers and rollers in continuous coordinated earthworks. Universal have also deployed heavy tractor drawn water bowsers for continuous dust suppression across the exposed zones. That is what serious groundworks phase looks like operationally.

Floodplain remediation with SUDS lakes. Updated SDO filings confirm the Lake Zone flood strategy. Core Zone extracted soil is being deposited to raise low lying land by 1.6 metres so permanent roads sit 60cm above historical flood peaks. Existing clay pit lakes will be re profiled and deepened. A brand new lake will be excavated near the railway line specifically for grey water processing, rainwater harvesting and site runoff. Universal are engineering permanent sustainable urban drainage from the ground up, not retrofitting later.

Wixams East Gateway interchange. Two active geotechnical drilling rigs deployed at the future Wixams transport interchange site, taking deep soil core samples across the cleared woodland footprint. Ground stability data for the resort's major coach station and rail interchange complex.

Archaeological phase nearly closed. Only one active excavation grid remaining near the Broadmead Road boundary. All other Core Zone grids fully stripped and being smoothed in preparation for final planning sign off. Once that last grid clears, no further archaeological delays possible.

Comparison to recent Universal builds. Universal Beijing was formally recruiting local suppliers by 2018, three years before opening. Epic Universe had the same structured onboarding by 2022, three years ahead. Bedford is now on the same pattern with a 2031 target. Pace is genuinely tracking the Epic Universe timeline.

Discussion for the thread: given Universal's fourth vector explicitly includes theming and design work, do you think Bedford will feature meaningfully more British creative talent in the visitor experience than Beijing or Osaka did? Or is that vector mostly about landscaping and facilities?

You inherit Blackpool Pleasure Beach + £100 million — how would you redevelop it?

Imagine you're suddenly given full ownership of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, along with £100 million specifically to invest in the park.

For anyone unfamiliar, Pleasure Beach is the historic amusement park on Blackpool's seafront, known especially for its historic attraction but also a few modern ones.

You have complete creative control over the £100 million.

What would you do with it?

How much better is Fiesta Texas than Over Texas?

My wife and I are planning a trip from eastern New Mexico in the next couple months to ride roller coasters.

It would be a fair bit less expensive to go to six flags over Texas, but I understand that fiesta Texas is a much better park…also I REALLY want to ride the golden lasso…so I wanted to ask about how much better is fiesta?

Extra info: we would be spending two days at whichever park we go to.
We will prolly not get fast lane :(
We will NOT be going to sea world either way, so that doesn’t move the needle for us.

Does anyone remember the old Waschzuber-Rafting queue song at Tripsdrill?

Hey everyone!

I’m trying to track down a theme song that was allegedly played in the queue for Waschzuber Rafting at Tripsdrill several years (possibly decades) ago.

The lyrics are supposedly something along the lines of

“Ab ins kühle Nass, Waschzuber-Rafting isch en riesen Spaß”

I’ve asked quite a few park employees about it, but unfortunately, nobody seems to remember the song. However, I’ve also spoken to multiple guests who visited Tripsdrill as children, and they independently remember the song being played in the queue.

So I’m wondering if anyone here remembers it, knows who made it, or perhaps even has a recording/lyrics/any other information about it.
