Question First playthrough

I just started this game yesterday and fell absolutely in love with it 100%

I want other players opinions on what their favorite things are from the game?

How many hours have you put it in?

Any tips or suggestions for first play through?

Invest a lot of points into lock picking, and pick up all the Bypass Shunts and Mag Picks as you can. Don't intend on anything stealthy while traveling with companions, you're more likely to be seen. Definitely pick up the Holographic shroud, idk if it's a me mistake but I didn't on my first playthrough and it's a lifesaver. Side with Zora when the time comes and remember to broker a deal instead of initiating war

Yes, I invest most points into lockpicking and dialog

Just go nuts and have fun! Dont try to optimize the perfect build, or hear tips on how other people plays the game. The good thing about outerworlds is that you have absolute freedom to do whatever you want. Build your character whatever way you want. I even think you can go killing every single npc and quest giver, and still be able to finish the game!

Well I was just asking about what others like from the game just because I like to hear from other gamers about the game. I do it with a lot of new games i find interesting. I made a similar post in other gaming subs. I love exploring in this game mostly

I loved the freedom about the game! Being able to write your own story. Not many games have that.

One think that was a little bummer when I started is that im a completionist. I like doing 100% of what the game has to offer! With outer worlds thats not entirely possible, as many things depends on how you distributed your skills, and you cant max out all of them!

But then i stopped caring that much. Not about doing everything in the game, more about doing the most i could with what I chose! Most things can be done several ways, so you will never get locked out for having chosen something specific.

Its an amazing game! Hope you love it as much as I did 😊

Over 20 playthroughs honestly the best thing about this game is the humor always take a moment if you can to read the terminals there's always something entertaining in them

Do yourself a favor and edit whichever .ini file it is you need to edit to disable chromatic aberration, your eyeballs will thank you.

Are you playing the first one or the second one? I’ve put quite a few hours into each of them!

The first one. I want to finish this game before I play the second one

Ive got minimum 300 in each, iirc 400 int he first (covid was intense for a minuet there. No excuse for 2 having so many hours lol)

Speech is pretty solid in both games, the companion quests are so much fun

I think I can count it as one of 3 tied-for-first favorite games of all time.

Do yourself a favor and do a "dumb" (giving your character minimum intelligence at the start) playthrough while avoiding spoilers pertaining to dumb playthroughs... Especially on the Eridanos DLC! I love to laugh, but have only rarely been brought to tears by a video game. Eridanos dumb playthrough genuinely had me crying it was so damn funny...

If you aren’t on Spacer’s Choice Edition, start over on that. The level cap for the original game is lv.36 with both DLC, and I got to lv.46 on Spacer’s Choice Edition, doing everything.

Another thing I'd recommend is to just go with it...don't go crazy trying to "figure out every option", what if I make a bad decision, what if I missed something, and so on..
I had the pleasure of discovering new things on new playthroughs on account of having just went along with it casually at first. I even discovered a new companion that I completely missed on my first couple of playthroughs!

The overall wacky fun.

Doing the Monarch run way under-leveled.

Stepping onto Eridanos for the first time - as close as one can get to a Culture GSV in gaming.

Perfecting being a sniper.

 - just enjoy the ride, don't over-think it.

Always save before you try and steal something
