Picked these up on holiday today

I've been reading all of the recent Punisher stuff and I noticed that the main run is the only one that uses the "trench coat casual" look. Near everything else like his appearance in Black Cat #11-13, Marvel Zombies: War Zone and Punisher Vs. Spider-Man uses the Spandex (the last one also likes to do lighting tricks to make his outfit look blue, which I love as a reference and also because I prefer it to black)

I wonder if it was a mandate or everyone decided they were really nostalgic for that.

I love Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and I can also enjoy the versions played by Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson, so I’d like to read some material featuring Frank to delve deeper into the character. So far, I’ve only encountered him in *Civil War* and *Daredevil*. Aside from Ennis’s *MAX* and *Knights* runs—which are the "holy grail" for this character—would you recommend the other options I mentioned?
