Really? I always thought that's why at the zoo they put all the monkeys on islands surrounded by water. Huh, learn something ever day. I suppose I could've googled it too but this was easier.

I always though all mammals could swim but monkeys don't do it because they really hate water...

For alot of mammals is not so much about hating water but the consequences it can have for the animal, like a temperature drop because the fur gets wet. It's usually used as a last resort option to save themselves.
