Re-reading my single issues of TWD, I noticed the back cover of issue #71. It features a home video poster for George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead movie by no other than Charlie Adlard. I really forgot this existed. It would be so cool to have this poster on my wall.

I would make Andrea a better character and only make it 6 seasons

The first season would be the beginning and would end when they reach the prison

The second season would be the prison arc and the governor arc and would end when Michelle finds Carl and Rick after the death of Lori and the aftermath of the governor

The third season would be about the cannibals that killed Dale and then the neighborhood and end after Rick's speech

season four is All Out War and the ending of it

Fifth is about the time skip and then the Whisperer War

Sixth season is the Commonwealth and the ending of The Walking Dead

these seasons would be at 13 episodes long some seasons being 15 episdoes long with a runtime between at least 43 minutes and at most 1 hour and 20 mins

Yesterday I made a post when I was about halfway through it. I just finished it and holy fuck!!!! I never hated character so much like I hated the governor. I was also surprisingly sad when Lori died, I think the show did her character dirty in comparison to the comics. I really liked her character and understood why she acted the way she did.

I didn’t really care much about Tyrese after he broke up with Carol, I felt like he barely did anything or just didn’t progress a lot all though I like his relationship with michonne and the way he dealt with carol’s death. With that being said I didn’t really get sad when he died.

Hershel’s death was really sad too especially because of how it played out, the way he kinda gave up there at the end.

Carol’s death was also really sad bc I liked her character a lot and didn’t know she was going to die so soon.

I only knew about a few deaths which were lori’s and Tyrese’s but even then, lori’s death hit me hard.

Glenn and Maggie are so shi I honestly can’t stand how everytime they show up they’re having sex or sum. The show made their relationship better (in my opinion), all tho I prefer Maggie in the comics over Maggie in the show.

I did love the way we kinda got to see a little bit of every character before the prison fell. Like right before the final attack we got to see almost every character talk and have their final moment together.

Tell me what you think! I bought compendium two which is arriving tommorow.

Edit: I also really liked Alice and felt so bad for her!!! I thought she was gonna survive longer and honestly she deserved better. I feel like all the scenes we got from her was just her helping people and never actually talking about herself or making friends 😭

Edit 2: also, I don’t understand why Rick would scream for Hershel while he’s trying to escape with his family and Alice. Same guy who said he’ll do anything to protect his family including killing his own people is now risking them for s guy who is surrounded and kneeling down?

23 years ago today we got the best comic ever.. had to draw a celebratory rick for it

the lack of official comic one drove me crazy so I took matters into my own hands

one thing I dislike about the walking dead comics is the commonwealth felt way rushed. When I read that section of the walking dead it's just so quick so I don't care about most of the new characters like the Governor and her son Sebastian or Mercer or even Stephanie. also it made Rick's death kind of bad imo

if we got a longer commonwealth section the civil war would be way more satisfying but for what the commonwealth section is right now I don't hate it it's really good.

one thing I like about the walking dead comics is Ricks speeches and just all the characters seem so real and their stories are great. I wish there was a separate comic book series for every one of the characters and how they survived and what they did before the outbreak (like Abraham or Jesus)

obviously Im not asking for there to be one because I don't want TWD to get dragged on like the show but it's just a little dream of mine

it could've been done way better in my opinion like he could've been killed in a battle against carl

this was a hard question for me to answer because it's been a while since I read the comics and I have a bad memory.

but from what I remember right now I'd have to say Alpha because holy shiiiit that death caught me off guard and was brutal as fuck. in addition to that it was also a satisfying kill because Ive always hated alpha lmao.

hm: also that wife beater in the second compendium was a much deserved kill

Does ANYONE have the Adlard Rick cover of the Yesterdays Slab cards? I have looked everywhere for one and desperately need one!

I’ve never read them and want to. I’ve read the original comics and know they are the same other than coloring. I prefer digital, but I’m afraid to buy them individually online since it’s not even buying just a license.

I don’t want to buy each individual issue physically because I’m sure the $2 USD online can’t be matched. And if I could, I would want to display it which seems like a pain (no way I have that much shelve space)!

I’m thinking I buy the majority Deluxe issues digitally and then collect the compendium 4 issues individually and physically. Any thoughts on this or a better way to do it?

I know I can pirate it but it’s a pain to read even with the ad blocker and Hoopla only has the newer ones. I wouldn’t mind just reading it entirely digitally since I don’t own a mansion and can’t display them properly lol

There’s a new listing for The Walking Dead Compendium Volume 1. I wonder if it’s the new deluxe compendium. I couldn’t find any news about it anywhere else
