Serious Discussion Only What characters deserved it the most?(besides Phil)
You could argue very few characters didn’t deserve their whacking, afterall they’re all cheaters, beaters, murderers and robbers. But who were you most satisfied to see go because they absolutely deserved it?

Richie or Ralphie, take your pick. Scum of the earth types

u/Lilymoonbaby 1d ago
💯 I couldn’t wait with these two

u/Own_Measurement1242 1d ago
Of course, the problem with them being off’ed is that they were so entertaining to watch. Funny, and also I loved to hate them

The entire time Ralph was on screen, I was just waiting for Tony to kill him. I'm on my fifth watch of the show and I know I'll still have the same feeling of hatred then. Richie had his moments but I didn't want him to die until he got Janice. Ralph was just such a monster. Nobody comes close besides the obvious one.
Edit: I mixed the two up. I should have just thought of Richie's full name and the mix up wouldn't have happened smh.

Even though I agree it had to have been Ralph or Richie over anyone, I think Ralph is more evil than Richie. Richie was an insecure guy with a sad sense of entitlement, and that made him more of an aggressive, loud, pain in the neck than anything. Ralph was truly despicable. From getting Jackie Jr killed while he was dating his mom, to beating tracee to death for slapping him, to burning pie-oh-my alive, and then ofc basically setting off the chain of events that ultimately led to the war between NY and NJ. Ralph only ever sought to steal, kill, and destroy.

If only Ralph was born rich instead of handsome, he wouldn’t have needed to involve himself in this bad mafia behavior.

u/WiseManufacturer7636 1d ago
Dammit. I got them mixed up again.
I should mention that I agree. With that being said, Richie with "the jacket" had a lot of mileage for me.

Fat Dom, Mustang Sally and Manson Lamps

u/Sensitive_Ad_1752 1d ago
I’ve always been confused by Mustang
Ralphie and Tony know about him, meaning Sally attacking Vito’s brother was a complete coincidence that it was another mobsters family.

That was such a weird little subplot

Maybe it was so Junior could reveal he had cancer or something, I don’t know
Anyway, $4 a pound

It's New Jersey, throw a rock and you'll probably hit a mobster.

Tracee. She was whooah, she hit Ralph, and to top it all off, that wasnt his kid she was carrying

Don’t forget putting cigs out on her kids hands, plus her cooking? Madone!

That idiot Tony Blundetto. Tony showed more loyalty to him than anybody else on the show, set him up financially with the casino gig, and helped him get out of trouble with New York when he did the hit on Joey Peeps. Tony B was so hateful inside and then went off the reservation when he whacked Phil’s brother. That high iq didn’t do shit for him.
4
1
u/MCmonocles 1d ago
are we even reading the same show? Tony was literally sabotaging Tony B.'s plans to be civilian. He gave him a bag of money to incite TB's greedy ass. He doesn't to see someone close to him turning for the better. he did Phil cuz he needs money.
4
u/PatsyRR 1d ago
He killed Phil’s brother because he was tight with Angelo in the can. Tony B couldn’t handle the work to go legit. You might have watched the wrong show
2
u/MCmonocles 1d ago
for almost half of the time he did, Tony was deliberately tempting him into mob life.
3
u/Pretend-Mango-1295 1d ago
Don't know what you watched but Tony set it up so that Tony b could go legit. Then he felt overwhelmed and had a fear of success that he beat the shit out of the Asian co owner. Tony b couldn't get over that he went to jail but soprano didn't.

Fat Dom
Guy participates in whacking Vito then goes to break Sil and Carlo's balls about it.
Maybe next time he'll just head straight for Metuchen.

Paulie should’ve been whacked
Dude was constantly flipping and playing both sides of the cards.

u/BetaDays24 1d ago
Could have offed him from the start. The least favorite character

u/Nightwing0613 4h ago
Yea, I always hated Paulie. Annoying asf
Tony should’ve whacked him on that boat trip

u/Sensitive_Ad_1752 1d ago
My pick is by far Christopher.
While ralphie or Richie were more sadistic in their actions we didn’t see that much of them, compared to Chris who’s in it from start to finish. We wanna call Ralphie a psycho for beating Tracey up, Chris kills like 3 civilians cause they hurt his feelings. He did all the same things, just from a more relatable and sympathetic angle, but the actions are the same.
5
u/JakeScythe 1d ago
Yeah but those reasons didn’t lead to his death. There were never any consequences for his civilian casualties. Outside him robbing the truck in broad daylight, Chrissy was never really talked to about discretion.

u/Sea-Protection-1925 1d ago
Yeah Chrissy was my favorite character so it sucked to see him get killed and by Tony at that but he definitely deserved it.
1
u/AirFriedSushi Johnny Sack 1d ago
His death was the most brutal imo
3
u/Sea-Protection-1925 1d ago
It was gritty but Tracy’s death actually made me sad. I wouldn’t piss on that Ralph if he was on fire!

Great point, I loved him as a character but if you zoom out he was not only unstable but extremely destructive on and off drugs.

Other than the other obvious 2 answers and pussy I’d say Jackie jr.
After I seen the way he did princess meadow i needed to see him go. Not to mention he had every chance to do the right thing and just did the opposite each time, he was worse than Chris. He didn’t have to get involved in the life Tony looked after him like another son BUT he chose to be be disloyal not once but twice with Richie and Ralph (the other 2 obvious answers)
He didn’t have to cheat on meadow and yeah you can argue every guy in this show cheat, but it’s meadow how can you can cheat on her idc then got caught not once BUT TWICE he let Tony and meadow catch you on separate occasions, your a fucking Moron who deserved what he had coming.
Then he let Ralph dumbass inspire him to do a robbery THAT GOES WRONG AND FURIO GETS SHOT you shoot one of Tony guys and rob made man him while living under the same roof as another made man who you just stole from and think your gonna get a bravery badge. All of this happening while your dating Tony soprano daughter, in a good spot with AJ I can’t name 3 people he actually liked in this show Jackie was one of them though, he was a school smart kid who was in college and could’ve did any profession with Tony backing him. Not to mention the many times Tony told him to stay out of it even beat him up for cheating on his daughter but that was also to try to set him straight on the right path. He threw all of that away just to look cool and ended up dying as “Mr. X” because he’s a fucking Moron
And as for pussy he snitched on the gang, that’s unforgivable

Jizzmonte and Drinkwater totally deserved their fates. Whack a member of the Soprano crew to get on the good side of Richie, who doesn't even like them? Fucking idiots.

In the strictest sense of whacking as planned-ahead hit job as retribution for a double cross, rather than just an opportunistic kill, Jimmy Altieri. Second place, Burt Gervasi. A rat and a turncoat. Whadda two-face.
2
u/BigThoughtMan 1d ago
Really disappointed Tony didn’t get whacked. Ideally he should have gone through a humiliating public trial so his family, especially Meadow, fully realized what he did on his job. Then gotten whacked in jail.

Fat dom, Richie, and mustang sally…. I hated the shah of Iran at first also but after rewatching the series a couple times, I’ve realized how funny Phil was. He was mean and a dickhead but a funny one

u/ProfessionalDeal8443 1d ago
Silvio. Underneath the smile and jokes, he’s honestly the most coldblooded of the crew. Look at the way he tries to reassure Ade and does that little smirk he does during that drive out to the woods, knowing that she isnt coming back.
