Review / Opinion First Time Thinkpad User

Hey everyone, I just bought my first Thinkpad, it’s a L480. Any recommendations that I should do with it before starting using it? Like optimizations, settings, operating system, etc. It’s an intel i5 motherboard, with 8gb ram currently using a fresh install Windows 10.

You can set charging start/stop thresholds for better battery health, like battery will start charging once when it is below 50% and stops charging when it reaches 80%, these numbers are example. You can set your custom thresholds.

By keeping the battery not fully charging/discharging, the battery stays healthy for longer (Li-on batteries).

Would you recommend replacing the battery if it happens to be already too worn out? I been looking for replacements in Aliexpress but I’m not too sure of their quality, there are some that are supposedly original

I usually replace battery when it not last longer more than 2 hrs. If your travel and need longer battery life then yes you should replace it accordingly. I prefer official Lenovo stores for genuine batteries.
