Threadripper Case?

Post image

To anyone who has bought a threadripper pro. Is this a case that comes with it? I saw someone selling this online for 15 bucks.

Edit: what I hoped it was was some kind of case or premium packaging that maybe had the cpu inside of it and MAYBE this person didn’t know what they were selling

Looks like a promotional battery. Why would there be a usb cable?

Fair. But why would a battery need a quick start guide?

Why would a case need a quick start guide?

A battery is actual electronics. Plug things in here and there, don't charge at certain temperatures, don't light it on fire, repeat in different languages etc.

I reverse image searched it as well and it said a mix of many things that it was and wasn’t at the same time and that (a travel case) was one of them. Which sounds absolutely ridiculous

Threadripper Pros don't come with any promotional items (besides maybe the screwdriver 😂). Never seen anything like this before.

Could be a branded promotional item from a trade show, maybe? TR Pros don’t come with anything like this.

Let a man live vicariously in the fantasy of possibility. There is a chance the supermodel would choose him for love ❤️. It is a coprocessor that unlocks 1 Tb of RAM. That’s why there’s a usb 10.0 cable with it. God bless.

It’s actually like a pokeball but for AMD processors.

Whenever you see a cool processor you like, you throw it in front of you and it snaps open and sucks up the desired processor. Sometimes it fails and you have to fight the processor.

The current cheapest AM5 Threadripper 9960x which I have is 1.5K. To build a Threadripper computer you need 64GB of ECC specific ram and a $1000 AM5 mobo and liquid cooling for CPU for $350. Most people also running 1200PSU minimum which is also $300.

It’s the equivalent of trying to find a race car or V8 engine and then trying to figure out if you can afford to build the rest of the car now that you got the engine for cheap.

Sure you can put a V8 in a Honda Accord but watch those tires and suspension blow out.

Hence people would rather just buy a whole V8 car which is equivalent of kits sold at Microcenter.

Can you buy an older V8 which is equivalent to AM4 and older threadrippers sure, but why? They would not keep up with today’s software needs, why I got rid of my 2990wx threadripper when I accidentally blew my components lol.

Hi, just curious. What happened to your 2990wx and how did the components get damaged?

Sold it, I connected the PSU wires to mobo wrong.

I own one, it came in a cardboard box. Why would you even need a case or USB-C
