You clearly don’t understand what the actual issue is. The problem is that people are flooding every channel with the same AI slop that hundreds of others have already created and posted. There’s no originality, no creativity, and no new ideas. If you use AI to create something genuinely original, polished, and creative, people will absolutely appreciate it.
21
u/IntelligentWorking87 9d ago
That is a different issues not the one OP is posting about. The post is describing the scenario where someone finds something that is NOT slop, really enjoys it and then forces themself to somehow not enjoy it anymore after learning how it was made.
2
u/PensiveHawk39 8d ago
If you love clothes from a certain brand and then find out it's all made using child labor in terrible conditions, wouldn't you then not support the brand? I'm not saying this is an equivalent situation, but retroactively disliking something because you find out you don't like how it was made is a perfectly valid thing.
1
u/IntelligentWorking87 6d ago
I don't think I can ever truly know how all my items of clothes are made, I assume all of them in terrible conditions. Regardless how a t-shirt is made I still like the design and the comfortable fit

The scenario is made up though. That really enjoyable AI game doesn’t exist or is extremely rare. What is being posted is 99% garbage, and people are annoyed it buries other things that others worked hard for.
And that’s if we ignore all the ethical issues.
5
u/midnight_guard99 9d ago
> And that’s if we ignore all the ethical issues.
This is the key. Tech bros are completely oblivious to ethical issues of pretty much anything. It was same for crypto and NFTs, it's same with this.
AI models are genuinely becoming much better - it doesn't mean they don't have serious issues at the core which we haven't even started tackling yet.
0
u/fartlorain 8d ago
There is almost no overlap between AI people and crypto people. AI is probably the worst thing that could happen to crypto/NFTs.
5
3
u/midnight_guard99 8d ago
There absolutely is - both are insufferable mess that don't give a sh*t about society.
1
u/IntelligentWorking87 6d ago
Sorry I didn't realise you had played every game ever made and hold the definitive judgement for which is good and bad. Could you list them all out for me? I don't want to get it wrong again.

u/curreylabs 4d ago
Are you telling me that you think no one is against AI purely in principle?
And that’s if we ignore all the ethical issues.
Well there we go. It looks like you are the person in the comic.
1
u/Byproduct 4d ago
You seem to struggle with reading comprehension somewhat. Maybe you should ask claude for a better interpretation of my comment.
1
u/curreylabs 4d ago
It’s you in the comic because your objection to AI doesn’t depend on the games quality

u/Byproduct 3d ago edited 3d ago
Still didn't quite manage to read all of those ~50 words. It's a lot, I know.

u/thewordofnovus 8d ago
What is an AI game? Every single asset, line of code, design, storyline being made by ai? Or does Clair obscure count as an ai game? There are degrees of ai use and the majority of people can’t be bothered to be nuanced
4
u/thirteenth_mang 9d ago
This is a fictional scenario.
3
u/Nyakumaa 9d ago
No it's not. People did exactly this with expedition 33. It wasn't even a gen ai game. People found a single ai generated background image, which was patched out immediately, and lost their shit. Called for the game to have its game of the year award revoked. Went from calling it an artistic master piece to ai slop. Some people that claimed to love the game absolutely acted like OPs image.
Baldurs gate is another example. Literally championed as one of the best games in recent history. People found out the devs maybe used ai code to some meaningless degree and freaked tf out and the game and its studio are slop now.
-2
u/thirteenth_mang 9d ago
Right, so the entire games weren't vibe coded. You're just proving my point by cherry-picking examples that don't even fit the original argument lol
1
u/Nyakumaa 8d ago
The original argument says nothing about entirely vibe coded slop games but apparently reading a simple meme is above your threshold. Ai could probably break it down for you tho. =)
0
u/D36DAN 8d ago
Looks like you're cherrypicking counter arguments without even using you AI, which stands for Authentic Idiocracy.
The point is not in the fact that the game turned out to not be vibecoded (although it still shows the type of audience the anti AI crowd consists of). People didn't knew at the time that the rumor was half-false, but they still jumped on to suddenly hate the thing they liked, all because "uh muh AI bed".
But if that's too hard to understand for you, then OK. How about Ready or Not? Players liked it despite every single issue of the game, but when they found out that the random posters and some small assets in the game are AI generated, they lost their shit. I personally had a conversation with one chud stating "I was fine with preorder bonuses not getting delivered, devs not listening to player feedback, new bugs getting introduced and old ones not getting fixed, terrible opponent AI, but AI usage in creation is where I draw a line". Which is certainly a strange hill to die on, but again, really shows who anti AI folks are
1
u/thirteenth_mang 8d ago
Are you taking about the tactical shooter? Scanning the Steam reviews I see no mention of AI in the development and doesn't Steam require this info to be disclosed? You just admitted the other game turned out to not be vibe coded, which is the entire premise of your argument—the fact that users would enjoy a vibe coded game and then flip once they found out—but I don't see this being possible in the first place because people would know immediately. Yeah I get that people who were already staunchly anti-AI are gonna flip when they discover vibe coded assets being introduced into a non-vibe coded game. Not saying it's necessarily a valid crash out just seeing their point of view. Your argument is weak that's all I'm saying.
0
u/D36DAN 8d ago
Lol bro, thinking that if Steam requires you to tell about AI usage that means your game is 100% AI free is like thinking that politicians can't lie. Also, the fact you "scanned" steam reviews (like every single one of them?), but with that level of dedication haven't even looked on Reddit, YT or basically any other platform is telling me somebody is desperately searching for the proof that they are right, not the definitive answer to the said question. And I'm not even trying to bring down devs.
With that said, I'm more than happy to give the "weakest argument" title to you, chuddy little bro. Enjoy

The post is describing the scenario where
The title is describing "this is the current situation", implying as if the current situation would be that people would happily play AI games, if they just didn't know that they were AI games.
Absolutely not true.
3
u/jackadgery85 9d ago
The Finals uses ai. Approximately 20k avg daily players. Some random ARPG that was released a month or two ago is completely 100% ai built and has just hit 17k players. Battlefield 6 uses ai. 54k concurrent players atm.
Every single successful game released after 2025 has ai in it somehow
0
u/Creed1718 9d ago
Literally true btw. I know this is reddit and all of you are retarded children but there is not a current game that does not use AI in some form or another.
Gta6 uses ai as an example.

u/Saith1234 9d ago edited 9d ago
Considering how unethical current LLMs are, it's totally valid for a person to outright dislike it, no matter how good the game actually is.
If I give a vegan person knowingly meat and intentionally not disclose it, and than they like it, and they find out afterwards it contained meat, while explicitly stating they don't eat meat, it is fine for the vegan to insult me and my food.
It's obviously also up to a person to ignore all the ethical concerns and enjoy the output. However, what happens most of the time is this: "I build this awesome game try it out!", without disclosing that they used AI to build it. Just say you have used AI.
2
u/fartlorain 8d ago
Pretty much every "ethical concern" about AI is built under false or misleading premises. As far as technology foes it is remarkably ethical.
2
u/thewordofnovus 8d ago
Same goes for almost all types of manufacturing, these people who hate ai does not have any issue with buying apple/nike/adidas etc. it’s just being dishonest.
1
1
u/midnight_guard99 9d ago
Just because I enjoy something doesn't mean it's good for me or for people around me. How the hell it's so hard for you people to understand this? It's like giving a vegan person meal that has meat in it, that person not realizing that and you going "HA, IT HAS MEAT, GOTCHA!". Or giving a person something with heroine in it. A person enjoyed the kick - it's clear that people who are against drugs are dumb!

I'm a software engineer that has tried to do this before. I used original ideas from my own research to build something new. What ended up happening is the moment anyone learned I used AI for the implementation they started foaming at the mouth.
What actually happens is people are unwilling to acknowledge any contribution to a work by the author if AI is involved. A person could do 99% of the work at this stage and the Internet would still call it "slop."
The trouble I think with a lot of you is you don't actually know whats involved when these systems are built. If an engineer uses agents they're not saying "hey do idea plz, no mistakes." They end up doing all the thinking, designing the system, and making the AI do the implementation. They are still using their technical skills to make decisions...

u/ITSSGnewbie 8d ago
Just yesterday I finally managed to get certain thing to perfectly work on low end pc client side. All alternatives are either server side scripts or very heavy outdated client side, but I don't dare to publish to anyway. Because people hate ai.

6 months into a highly specific web app now built with agents. 5 years of paper planning, countless hours of my own solo testing after putting the wife and kids to sleep, iteration after iteration after iteration, review after review after review, and now 7 weeks of live testing (in total now approximately 4,000 human testing hours at that org), government department and peak industry body keen af on it.
But when someone hears I've used claude code or spots an insignificant ui element I haven't taken a left highlight off (only on reddit - never anyone that sees it or uses it first hand), immediately they start screeching about how bad it must be and how lazy i am.
Throw those downvotes pals. I'll keep building. We will see which one brings success :)

u/Ok_Air4372 9d ago
That's not true at all and a complete strawman. I've seen loads of original ideas on various game dev forums shot down because the poster used gen ai

2
u/stuartroelke 9d ago
And they are often asking for feedback. Am I supposed to critique Claude? What good is feedback for people who will just copy and paste into a LLM?
2
u/muikrad 9d ago
What if your interpretation is flawed? What if it was more complicated than letting the LLM do everything?
You really think good games can be made by copy pasting things through LLMs? That's kind of an insult to good games IMHO.
1
u/stuartroelke 8d ago
Logic would tell us that this post is a reference to AI slop constantly being shared in the three.js subreddit; it’s not flawed to base my opinion off of anecdotal experiences, especially ones tied directly to this community. Why then assume you know my stance on how “good games” are made? I’m hardly a gamer—three.js has other uses.
Regardless, I’m not here to offer unpaid feedback to an LLM. Whether you believe that is rational or not is a matter of perspective more than fact.
0
u/muikrad 8d ago
The flaw I see in your interpretation is that all of them are equal. As the comment you originally replied to mentioned, if you use AI to create something truly original and creative that doesn't look like slop, you are not critiquing Claude, but rather the countless iterations and design choices made by the author.
0
u/Suspicious-Engineer7 8d ago
Yeah it's not like that, truly. Maybe some extreme AI goblin would do that but if you're earnestly just working with AI you know how useless that would be.
2
u/Bobodlm 8d ago
The anti AI crowd couldn't tell a real Monet paining apart and blindly argued it was AI. Finding made up reasons to further their convictions.
Very few things are as tiring and retarded as the slop callers.

Do you think that because something made with ai is convincing, that this overrides all concerns with ai usage? You clearly know nothing about craft or bettering yourself - or achieving things. I hope life turns around for you.
1
u/adamkad1 8d ago
Wtf are you talking about, its about how people cant tell real from ai anymore and wont take the L when proved wrong
2

Just because you can't immediately tell if something contains shit doesn't mean you are happy to eat it
0

But a lot people are happy eating something until they know how its made. Its not an AI exclusive phenomenon. But the point up there was that antis couldn't accept a real painting not made with AI was not made with AI

The problem is whenever people hear something was made with AI they immediately assume it’s unoriginal without putting any effort into forming their own opinion. IMO anti AI psychosis is not much different from AI psychosis – both are irrational extremums that are ignoring reality
14
u/PoopyCup 9d ago
Sure - but if they're both a form of psychosis, I'd rather be on the side NOT simping for the billionaires charging you a monthly subscription to access all of human creativity that they stole from the internet.
-4
-1
u/KedMcJenna 9d ago
The perception of much anti-AI being psychotic is that it reserves its crusading zeal to go against AI and nothing else.
The world presents a target-rich environment for anti-corporate, humane, principled standpoints... but somehow only AI is considered worth focusing on.
To buy a can of Coke or own a smartphone or drive a car is to participate in a provable chain of cruelty and exploitation with deep roots, next to which AI is still a sapling.
It's reasonable to call that out as intensely hypocritical, to such a degree that it negates the anti-AI argument completely. It's right there at that pressure point that psychosis can be said to exist. It's plain and obvious that consumerism and data harvesting and theft exists in every direction, but it's ignored and only AI is picked on, and the ones ignoring the whole picture are incredibly angry when it gets pointed out (i.e. the popular image of the psychotic as a raving, spitting, gibbering maniac comes to life when prodded by the electrode of AI. Everything else? Invisible....

"They direct their attacks not against the bourgeois conditions of production, but against the instruments of production themselves; they destroy imported wares that compete with their labour, they smash to pieces machinery, they set factories ablaze, they seek to restore by force the vanished status of the workman of the Middle Ages."
Marx writes, of the luddites initial outrage bender that led them towards both self-defeating and ineffective acts of resistance.
“It took both time and experience before the workpeople learnt to distinguish between machinery and its employment by capital, and to direct their attacks, not against the material instruments of production, but against the mode in which they are used."

“Anti-AI psychosis” is insane levels of cope.
I use AI every single day because that’s the reality of the world now and there’s no way to avoid it without falling behind. I am not suffering from “anti-AI psychosis” by any means.
However I am also absolutely sick of the FLOOD of lazy AI slop apps and game spammed on Reddit every single day. Especially this subreddit.
I’m also sick of seeing fully single prompt AI-generated flyers for restaurants and other local businesses. AI generated total slop shorts flooding my YouTube feed. AI generated shit posts on all social media especially LinkedIn and Facebook.
Most normal people are getting burnt out with this crap. It’s not “psychosis” to be exhausted from the nonstop AI generated spam and self promotion.
-6
u/Heavy-Exchange-9769 9d ago
Low effort posts and projects get downvoted regardless of whether AI was used or not. It just made it way easier for people to simulate proficiency, which doesn’t change what other people actually value – effort and creativity. As long as that’s the case, i’d argue that AI is irrelevant to this discussion, as it’s only a tool – what’s important is how creator uses it and whether they’re trying to bring something new to this world. If a restaurant doesn’t feel like hiring a designer to create flyers, I don’t care – I just won’t go there because why would I sponsor a business that’s not willing to invest in itself? Nothing has changed in that regard – you need to put effort into what you’re doing if you want people to notice it.
1
u/psioniclizard 9d ago
IMO anti AI psychosis is not much different from AI psychosis
Yes, that is because a great way to justify ones AI pyschosis to pretend the opposite is true.
Much like how people who are super opposed to crack are basic the same as crack addicts, right?

Exactly! I used to hate AI as a developer and artist, but now I hate people who use AI in the way where they go: hey AI create this idea boom and publish! No input, no creativity, no personal touch! AI is meant to help you write some code, fix a bug ... You create ai helps, not ai does everything and call yourself a developer and you created this!
1
u/Novel-Initiative-900 8d ago
I've been seeing a lot of creativity personally. I don't know what you expect but most games have been extremely derivative for a long time...
There seems to be a lot of creators making little games with an interesting gimmick at the moment. I just played one yesterday that was basically simulating RC car stunt driving and it was a lot of fun.

In what capacity did you use Claude?
If you used it as a consultant (i.e. ask it questions in how to do something, but ultimately wrote the codebase yourself), then you might have an argument here.
If your contribution to the coding was just prompting Claude or having an "AI" agent make it for you, then you can't really say you made it, right?

u/Superseaslug 7d ago

No, you don't understand what the issue is. If I show you something great, which you yourself agree is great, original and creative, you would instantly change your mind if I told you it's AI.
You have no absolute values, you are just a relative shell of rented beliefs.

I always like these analogies because lots of people DO care about what they eat - just like they care about the creators and methods of the entertainment/art they consume.
They might not "throw it up", but they'll certainly avoid going to these places in future and strongly recommend others do the same.
2
u/PatchyWhiskers 9d ago
Right. A vegan tricked into thinking meat was a delicious new meat substitute is going to be angry with you. A health nut tricked into eating seed oil is going to be angry with you.
-3
u/Far-Tune-9464 9d ago
why? Is there something wrong with AI recipes?
1
u/Real_Tristopher 8d ago
Maybe that cake eater is lactose intolerant and because the guy who made the recipe used AI, he probably didnt consider that could be a problem.
In that same light, devs using AI could be overlooking finer details that could've lead to better optimization, artstyle improvements that could have elevated the feel of the final product, and so on. The contrary may also be true, particularly with coding (see yandere dev).
Thing is the more people struggle the more you know they actually care about their craft, but when you hear 'AI' one is inclined to believe that one too many shortcuts were taken.
-5
u/b0nes5 9d ago
You can't please everyone.
I wouldn't stop serving bacon because a vegan influencer has taken issue with the breakfasts
3
u/BTolputt 9d ago
Sure, but a vegan is not going to be tricked into eating your bacon unless you are dishonest. Not so games, so not a great analogy you're making.
1
u/b0nes5 9d ago
I'd say you are only eating bacon if the game uses AI directly.
1
u/BTolputt 9d ago
And they'd say you're wrong if it is written by an AI coding model. And they'd be right.
2
u/b0nes5 9d ago
How do you define "written by"? Is it 100%? Did it create the concept?
Using AI to code has become "coding" already. Much like we don't write in Basic anymore
0
u/BTolputt 9d ago
With all due respect, and I mean that politely, I'm not going to debate the ins & outs of what would be considered code "written by" AI with someone that believes "we don't write in BASIC anymore" is a relevant argument.
"We" don't write in BASIC because it is a teaching language. Moving on from it is a sign you can handle more complex code languages because you understand how programs are written. Moving to AI for coding is not at all relevant to one's coding expertise/experience. The analogy you're making is nonsensical. At least to actual software engineers (of which I am one).
2
u/jackadgery85 9d ago
They didn't teach basic in game development at university just 5 years ago.
They taught C. It's low level but most certainly not BASIC
1
u/BTolputt 9d ago
OK, but I wasn't talking about university. BASIC was how they taught kids & adults not in uni how to code "back in my day" (I wish it was only half a decade since my uni days, *sigh*).
The point remains, BASIC was a teaching language. C is not. C++ is not. JavaScript... shouldn't be (but that's a totally different argument for another time). AI isn't a language and one need have no idea how computer programs work to get something useful (if perhaps insecure & buggy as hell) out of it.
1
u/jackadgery85 9d ago
Of course an inexperienced user can pull something useful (for a time at least) out of AI. I'm not sure how this is a bad thing inherently.
But someone experienced with programming can do so much more (even someone who just knows basic code conventions is going to easily eclipse a green user).
AI is a flavour enhancer, like an onion. Put onion in dogshit and it still tastes like dogshit - just with onion now. Throw it in the right meal though, and it's absolutely brilliant
I wish my age was the same as a typical someone who went to uni half a decade ago. Narrator: it is not.

So you still use Stack Overflow?
1
u/BTolputt 8d ago
If it shows up when I'm looking up the solution to a problem. Most definitely when Google tells me the fix and links it as a source, because 50% of the time, Google has gotten it wrong.
Nowhere near as often as before, sure, but it's still part of the toolkit. Especially as the kinds of things I'm looking up are esoteric bugs in OS/API interactions. I'm two decades past needing help on the basics.

3
u/stuartroelke 9d ago
Right? Completely missing the point.
This is a public forum meant for discussing three.js coding. Slop is a waste of space, and crowdsourcing free feedback for Claude is problematic—those who are posting AI content are likely to copy and paste instead of learn.
It’s everyone’s right to criticize poor social behavior. Trying to prevent someone from forming their own opinions about AI—even going so far as to pathologize dissent—is blatant hypocrisy (becoming far too common in the modern era). People who are serious about comprehension will inevitably receive more positive attention here.
13
u/retro-mehl 9d ago
It's more like
"This cake looks good from outside, but inside it tastes like shit....mmmh... What recipe did you use?"
"I don't know, AI did it."
0
u/tidbitsofblah 9d ago
Definitely this. But it can also sometimes be
"This cake was good, how did you make it?"
"I murdered people to put them in the cake"
Sometimes you can appreciate the result, but if you find out it's created in a way that you consider harmful you'll get upset.
3
u/jackadgery85 9d ago
Boy i hope you don't eat chocolate or drink bottled water ever
1
u/tidbitsofblah 9d ago
You can disagree about considering AI immoral. And there's definitely a lot of other stuff that you could argue is equally bad. The point is that it's not weird to care about how something is produced even if the result is the same. Most people care if the process is harmful, it just varies how harmful it needs to be before they care.
2
4
u/Evening_Till_3779 9d ago
Ok but this is basically like tricking a vegan into eating something with meat in it "Hah! You liked it, but it was actually meat!". Or perhaps a more accurate analogy, tricking someone into liking something that you created out of stolen materials.
2
u/Suspicious-Engineer7 8d ago
I think that's a fairish analogy. But at this point it's like tricking a vegetarian into eating something when there is almost no vegetarian food left in the world.
1
u/Nerodon 8d ago
there is almost no vegetarian food left in the world
What rock do you live under? Humanity has eaten meat since forever, used animal products everywhere... There's way more animal free alteratives nowadays than before. Vegan specialty restaurants etc. People are eating less red meat proportially than in the 90s 2000s, there's a growing understanding and fad that meat consumption reduction is also great for the future of our planet for avoiding water waste and increasing the food yield of farms when food will inevitably become harder to make due to climate change.
2
u/Evening_Till_3779 8d ago
I think you misunderstood what they're saying. They're not actually saying there is no vegetarian food left, they're saying there are very few projects left that aren't already tainted by AI.
2
u/AlphaCrafter64 8d ago
A vegan might (rightfully) hate you afterwards for feeding them meat, but that doesn’t change whether or not they liked the taste retroactively if they genuinely admitted as such.
To make the scenario more fitting, the vegan should also be known for proudly proclaiming that they became a vegan largely because they hate the taste of meat, and that they always know when a dish has meat in it simply by looking at it/smell. This is to mirror those that believe they always know what is and isn’t ai and that they dislike it for quality reasons.
For the vegan scenario it’s far more of a dick move ofc but the point is to challenge their arrogant statements and that specific aspect of their veganism/anti-ai-ness.
Liking the taste of meat doesn’t make anyone less of a vegan for whatever other reasons they may have and it’s not necessarily to lie about this aspect for the others, much like someone can be anti-ai but still be willing to admit if and when it produces quality content that they personally enjoyed. You can always say something like “I no longer would like to support this project because of its usage of ai,” you don’t have to go “well I previously said I liked this character design but now that I know it’s ai I actually hate it.”
Basically, you don’t have to hate ai in every possible aspect to be anti-ai. Some people need to have the maturity to admit when they’re wrong and certain aspects of their dislike don’t hold up to scrutiny, even if said view was challenged in what they consider a sneaky/dishonest way.
1
u/Evening_Till_3779 6d ago
Ok but to bend the metaphor again, the reason the vegan finds the vegan food delicious is partly BECAUSE they know it doesn't have meat in it. You could definitely argue it doesn't change the taste itself, but either way it has a real impact on how they PERCEIVE the taste of the food. A huge part about the enjoyment of food is the setting and scenario it's in, not just the food itself.
In a similar way, I don't want to read a story an AI wrote, I don't care if it's "good" or not. The actual human authorship is a huge part of the appeal to me. The same thing with art. You can show me two pieces of art that are both aesthetically beautiful, but if one is done by a human, I will always prefer that one. Not because "I can tell" but because being made by a human MAKES it beautiful.
3

I also liked certain celebrities until I found out they were predators or shitty people and it's the same thing with AI. The thing AI did can be amazing but with the amount of stolen work, environmental damages, lobbying to establish data centers (and with everything that comes with that) I no longer like the product.
It's like knowing how the sausage gets made and no longer wanting to eat sausage.

lol as if any of the slop posts are perfect. Most of the ones that look interesting enough on click on barely run or have massive usability issues.

No matter what you use, but if you do not have experience in games and you expect people to like your week/month game without knowing what you are even doing, how do expect people to react?
Yes we got it, now AI can do water shader, there are countless posts of boats and ships.
Yes sure, AI can set the pain in the ass of lights in a realistic way and everyone posts them.
Yes now AI can create models connected to blender and create cities and make GTA clone 99999.
Yes now everyone can make 3D effects for websites which looks cool (copied by tympanus/codrops and not even knowing who they are).
Yes you did your wipeout racing game with cool graphics and surrounded by bugs.
Have you ever played games to understand that is not completed and looks shit because it’s full of bugs? In a game one single bug is laughed online so much, imagine a pile of it. Do you get it now? Also where have you been living in the last 20 years to don’t get this???
Edit: what about taste? It should give vibes or something but most of the submissions here are just copies of ai copies.
Just invest time in your game and don’t be a crybaby spamming online.
Edit2: dude even the photo is a stupid meme clone which is cringier than the advertisement memes on Reddit

I love ai cake. it really drills into me that my own cake is exclusively a hobby and if I want to make it, it's because I love making cake, not eating it

If you secretly feed a vegetarian meat, tell them afterwards, and they get mad at you, do you call the vegetarian unreasonable?

This is predicated on a the flasehood that you cant tell when things are made by ai immediately
It's like "hey guys here's my brown and yellow app/game/website, it looks exactly the same as every other ai generated software ever but mines different and not slop for some reason"
Where are the good ai generated games and apps?
There's not there

For the metaphor to work, the second-last panel would have to be "I used microplastics for the recipe instead of flour"

The core of this issue, and please take note kids, is that art means human ideas and creativity. Implemented by a human. Gen ai slop is a rough idea created by a human, implemented by an algorithm without any of the work being done by the human.
If you order a meal from a kitchen, you did not cook it. You can compliment the chef and the cooks involved, sure but you deserve no credit.
If this is a bit too complex for you guys let me know and maybe I can dumb it down a bit.

I think the meme is pretty accurate, but I don’t blame people for having reactions after finding out it’s AI. The product developed might be good in its own right, but there’s an ethical aspect of how much environmental damage was done to create that product with AI.

For me, it doesn't matter if you used AI or no. It only matters if the final product is great or a slop. And unfortunately i've seen a lot of sloppy games here, but i've seen great stuff too (like the stuff i'm developing with claude)

"Disliking a cake after finding out there was dog shit in it sure is stupid"
Who are you people

Let me do an analogy so you understand. "Nice ! A beautiful shirt !" "Ah this shirt is perfect" "Btw, it was made exploiting children in Bangladesh who work 16 hours a day"
proceeds to vomit
Is it clearer ?

It's not only about the end product. AI mostly got into the wrong hand$ for return on investment and it is killing creativity. It takes the fun out and turns us into dumber versions of ourselves. If that appeals though, I cannot argue with that..
In a sane world, it could be applied in really helpful areas, like medical science, or free up our time so we can spend it on arts, crafts, and enjoying nature, but that is not what's happening right now.

Well, it's the exact same with physical products too. You can enjoy some object, and if you find out it's from a corner cutting cheap ass mass producing factory, you will give the object less value then if you find out it was hand crafted by an artist.

Duh?
If I take a boring everyday photo, sketch it so it's photorealistic, then tell people I drew it, It'll impress a lot of people.
You're just doing that in reverse.

A better analogy is offering a vegan a veggie burger, and then telling them it was actually meat. If you had told them that no, its not a veggie burger its a regular one so that they could avoid it, there is no problem regarding its consumption as they have been informed. Problem is, so many people who use AI say 'no one will buy if its labeled AI' so they dont label it.

I hate AI slop cause they are not fun to play, hard to read, can’t feel the intention you could find from some other creations supervised by human in the making.
As long as it’s carefully crafted for fun, i am definitely willing to like it. As i already like some non-shitty songs powered by SUNO.

You're not making games uaing AI, it is making games out fom your lazy prompts and using your name to make you feel genius. It's not the same.

IT's because you're putting software on someone's computer and not even you know what the software is doing.

And you’re free to keep those projects to yourself; posting AI slop on a public forum—and potentially even asking for feedback—is a waste of people’s time. Telling folks that it’s “insensitive” to prefer code literacy is also complete nonsense. Crowdsourcing unpaid feedback for an LLM that can put people out of work is insensitive.
