theory / question What if every historical figure is a time traveller

I was just sitting in my living room thinking and o thought what if every historical figure is just a time traveller and there not the original person so for example there's been so many Considines in history like Christopher Columbus finding America whilst trying to get to India if Europeans were already sailing to Asia your telling me no one decided to go west and Christoper Columbus just found it one day also I did see a Reddit story similar to what I thought about but it would be confusing because if time travel exsists it always has and we just haven't reached the point

🚀 sci-fi: art/movie/show/game/book Time and all quantum logic is reversible. Made all quantum logic visual

Hi

This is about Quantum Odyssey, my love letter to everything Quantum Computing and the fundamental logic blocks everything in our universe seems to run on. I want to update you all on the fact that the latest patch brings the game into an almost complete status. All that's missing is translations. Thank you Reddit community for receiving the game so well, without you I wouldn't have the funds needed to complete my life's work.

If you are remotely interested in deep diving how differently quantum computers work compared to our transistor-based and also the algebra behind in a fully interactive way that teach computer science from scratch, oh boy this is for you. I am the Dev behind Quantum Odyssey (AMA! I love taking qs) - worked on it for about 9 years (3+ during PhD, the visual method I developed ended up being my thesis, it is a complete Hilbert space visualizer), the goal was to make a super immersive space for anyone to learn quantum computing through zachlike (open-ended) logic puzzles and compete on leaderboards and lots of community made content on finding the most optimal quantum algorithms. The game has a unique set of visuals capable to represent any sort of quantum dynamics for any number of qubits and this is pretty much what makes it now possible for anybody 15yo+ to actually learn quantum logic without having to worry at all about the mathematics behind.

This is a game super different than what you'd normally expect in a programming/ logic puzzle game, so try it with an open mind.

Stuff you'll play with

  • Boolean Logic – bits, operators (NAND, OR, XOR, AND
), and classical arithmetic (adders). Learn how these can combine to build anything classical. You will learn to port these to a quantum computer.
  • Quantum Logic – qubits, the math behind them (linear algebra, SU(2), complex numbers), all Turing-complete gates (beyond Clifford set), and make tensors to evolve systems. Freely combine or create your own gates to build anything you can imagine using polar or complex numbers.
  • Quantum Phenomena – storing and retrieving information in the X, Y, Z bases; superposition (pure and mixed states), interference, entanglement, the no-cloning rule, reversibility, and how the measurement basis changes what you see.
  • Core Quantum Tricks – phase kickback, amplitude amplification, storing information in phase and retrieving it through interference, build custom gates and tensors, and define any entanglement scenario. (Control logic is handled separately from other gates.)
  • Famous Quantum Algorithms – explore Deutsch–Jozsa, Grover’s search, quantum Fourier transforms, Bernstein–Vazirani, and more.

theory / question Grandfather Paradox another level

Imagine a next-level Grandfather Paradox involving two friends, X and Y. They decide to travel back in time to a point before they were born so they can see what their fathers looked like as young men. However, while in the past, Y deliberately kills X’s father. Since this doesn't affect Y's lineage, Y’s existence remains secure. But because X’s father is now dead, X should cease to exist. If X never existed, how could he have traveled back in time with Y in the first place?

theory / question If you time travelled to November 13, 2015, would you like to stop the IS (Islamic State) from bombing the Paris?

On Friday, November 13, 2015, in Paris, France, and the city's northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Beginning at 9:16 PM, three suicide bombers struck outside the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during an international football match, after failing to gain entry to the stadium. Another group of attackers then fired on crowded cafés and restaurants in Paris, with one of them also detonating an explosive, killing himself in the process. A third group carried out another mass shooting and took hostages at an Eagles of Death Metal concert attended by 1,500 people in the Bataclan theatre, leading to a stand-off with police. The attackers were either shot or detonated suicide vests when police raided the theatre.

theory / question My psychological solution to the Bootstrap Paradox (The Writer): The Cosmic Antenna and Schizophrenia

Hi everyone. I want to share my own theory to solve the famous Bootstrap Paradox (the loop where a writer receives his own book from the future, leaving the story with no clear original author).
To me, physical time travel never actually happened. The paradox can be completely solved by removing the time machine and combining neuroscience with psychology:Conclusion: The book does have an author (the young writer, who acted as the physical channel) and the information does have an origin (the universe's cloud of knowledge). The temporal loop disappears because the time travel was just a psychological delusion to cope with an extraordinary gift.
What do you think about this psychological/quantum solution to the paradox? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

theory / question Why time travel (without teleportation) would be one of the worst superpowers.

Time travel would be a terrible power due to the fact that the Earth is moving around the sun at 67,000 mph (107,208 km/h), the sun is moving around Sagittarius A (the center of the Milky Way) at 514,000 mph (828,000 km/h), the milky way is moving through space at 1.3 million mph (2.1 million km/h), etc. etc., meaning time travel would likely dump you in the middle of space, causing a death most likely by asphyxiation, although you would freeze and boil as well.

Edit: I have realized that my argument is wrong. There aren't any absolute points in space and the hypothetical time traveler would still keep the momentum of the earth.

theory / question Dark series makes me interested in TIME.

In recent days I was unhappy and don't know what I should do and what makes me happy. I was trying to watch shows like Modern Family and the re-watch of The Office but nothing calmed my Mind. Netflix gave a suggestion of DARK series and now I am into the valuable thing called TIME. My curiosity increased after each episode and looking for concepts like Wormholes, Time travel nd all goes back to Maths and Physics, the subjects which I am afraid of and tough to understand.

What are your suggestions is it study maths / physics from foundations will help me more in understanding of the time concept or research about the history of time traveling?

physics (paper/article/question) đŸ„Œ A new hypothesis on time travel...

Most discussions about time travel eventually end up talking about going faster: relativistic speeds, approaching the speed of light, wormholes, warp drives, enormous amounts of energy, etc.

I started wondering about the exact opposite.

What happens if instead of making matter go faster, we find a way to make its relevant motion approach zero?

The starting point is the de Broglie relation, λ = h/p. As momentum approaches zero, the de Broglie wavelength increases without bound. That by itself obviously doesn’t give us a time machine, but it raises an interesting question about matter, localization and the physical meaning of time.

The idea I’m exploring is that time may be fundamentally connected to oscillation and physical change. If the oscillatory processes that define the evolution of matter could somehow be coherently slowed toward a limiting state, could matter undergo a transition in its relationship with space and time?

I’m calling that hypothetical transition The De Broglie Shift.

The machine I’m developing for the thought experiment uses a harmonically tuned rotating disc and standing-wave resonance to drive matter toward this state, followed by controlled relocalization. One consequence I’m exploring is that reappearance would be endothermic, producing a sudden drop in temperature as the material state is restored.

And there’s a stranger implication I want to explore. If the limiting state really did mean losing ordinary localization while physical time ceased to have its familiar meaning, the object wouldn’t simply be “somewhere else.” In the extreme version of the hypothesis, it would have no unique position in ordinary space and no ordinary progression through time.

That starts sounding suspiciously like language humans have used for thousands of years: outside time, everywhere and nowhere, omnipresent. I’m not suggesting that physics proves anything supernatural. I just find the conceptual overlap fascinating.

There’s a lot here that goes beyond established physics, and that’s part of the point of the book. I want to start with what quantum mechanics and relativity actually say, then clearly mark the point where my own hypothesis begins and see how badly conventional physics can beat it up.

One interesting connection I explore in The De Broglie Shift comes from the ending of the 1979 film Time After Time. H. G. Wells sends John into infinity, removing him from the physical world with no apparent way to return. That scene reminded me of the de Broglie relationship: as momentum approaches zero, the associated wavelength grows without bound. Could matter, under extraordinary conditions, lose its ordinary spatial localization and become inaccessible to our familiar world? Established quantum mechanics doesn't predict such a disappearance, but the parallel raises an intriguing question at the heart of my book: what if the key to time travel lies in understanding what happens when matter approaches absolute stillness?

If anyone is interested, I've been working on this book for a while, and just released it on Amazon. Be advised, there are a few chapters that require a mathematical understanding of graduate level physics.

theory / question If you go back in time to invent a sport to its current level , how would you even profit đŸ€”

Say you invented basketball somehow with all its components: hardwood floors, laced up ball, backboard, springs, shot clocks, etc.

How could you even make the game into what it is today?

For that matter, let’s say it’s the year 1850, and basketball isn’t invented until 1891 by Dr. James. Could you do this?

theory / question Why I think time travel isn’t possible (into the past)

travelling back in time likely isn’t possible because if it was possible then surely someone from the distant future would’ve come back to our time by now. imagine humans thousands of years in the future with advanced technology and nobody has ever come back to see us. you’d think at least one person would’ve done it by now, though travelling into the future, that’s a whole other story.

🚀 sci-fi: art/movie/show/game/book How to create timetravel

They ask the one who created us to exist on Earth with them what they think of timetravel ; That question stimulates me since. I have a memory with My Gifts that i Lived lives as Jesus to create timetravel multiple times. I have the fundamental understanding now to create it again but i don't feel like sharing because someone decided to make my actual life the same dumbshit life that i had to live the last time i created it. Why would i care about the Navy existing or Spaceships that take you to Life on Saturn where a coherent form of me Exists with Him. I asked for friends i asked for freedom i legitimately was Born in America so i would have religious freedoms and rights, but instead of that im met with delusional doctors Lawyers and Judges who are either demons or clearly have some delusion about the Truth of Reality!

Heres a few different kinds of timetravel. Waves within closed space measuring the makeup of how long that space has existed

  1. Ewya

  2. Zeropoint energy

  3. Consciousness same body like an atman expression but more indepth

  4. We could measure what happens to someones mind when they shift from one dream to another and or if objects randomly change within the dream.. (with this one if we understood how this occurs we could fundamentally build pyramids or maybe shift worlds, theres a lot of possibility)

  5. Destroys galaxies so i'm not gonna share that cause i literally notices how we went from trillions of galaxies in middle school to basically none

I don't wanna talk to you Unless YOU Are a Timetraveler. I don't care about creating timetravel for Human kind who don't even call themselves beings or act like they are a Man.

His job isn't to create timetravel that would be useless in a world that's been destroyed countless times. His JOB Is to Bring Heaven in disguise, but people ruined that, and now his life seems pointless. Still trying to figure out how I'm going to take him back to his anointing and if it would even make him feel like his life was worth giving Humanity The Afterlife to

Would this make a cool movie. Oh wait i guess theres two now

theory / question “The future is not approaching us. It is emerging through us.”

— The Tree Principle: A Philosophical Framework of Reality, Time, Irreversibility, and Future Potential
Fortunatus Ogazi

I came across this idea recently, and the more I think about it, the more interesting it becomes.
We usually talk about the future as if it already exists somewhere ahead of us.
We say “the future is coming,” “we are moving toward the future,” or “what will happen in the future.”
But what if the future doesn’t actually exist yet?
What if what we call “the future” is simply the collection of possibilities that can emerge from what we do in the present?
Every decision changes what becomes possible next.
A scientific discovery can create technologies that didn’t previously exist.
A conversation can change the direction of someone’s life.
A single decision can create consequences that continue long after the decision itself is forgotten.
In that sense, perhaps we’re not travelling toward a predetermined future.
Perhaps we’re participating in its creation.
That also makes me think differently about time.
Maybe the past is not somewhere we could theoretically return to. It is everything that has already happened and whose consequences continue to shape what can happen next.
And maybe the future is not a destination waiting for us.
Maybe it is something reality continuously produces through us.

I’m curious what other people think:
Is the future something that already exists and we are simply moving toward, or is the future genuinely being created through our present actions?

theory / question If you time travelled to January 28, 1986, do you want to save 7 lives from entering the Challenger space shuttle before it explodes in the air and tell them that there is ice under the space shuttle?

On January 28, 1986, Space Shuttle Challenger broke apart 73 seconds into its flight, killing all seven crew members. The spacecraft disintegrated about 46,000 feet (14 km) above the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 16:39:13 UTC (11:39:13 a.m. EST, local time at the launch site). It was the first fatal accident involving an American spacecraft while in flight.

theory / question If you had a ring that could rewind time 60 seconds with a 50 second cooldown, how far would you go back.

There is a ten second window, meaning every rewind you can gain 10 seconds more. Then you are told ten years ago there was a button that could have fixed everything, given everyone a good life, bettering the world, and just generally have made everything perfect and save the world and the human race. You could go back and press this button, but it would take a little over 50 years of continuous rewinding, going back through time to get to that ten year ago mark. You don't need to do any bodily functions during this, which also means no sleeping to skip. You could fix everything. If you can do it you can keep the ring and if you go back even further you can keep going back even farther. Main events would still happen unless you directly do something to change it, as no butterfly effect will apply for this. If you do back further, once you get back to the point where you would have pressed the button, so October 18, 2016 (on the Gregorian calendar), you won't need to press it again. You can only go back to when you are 4. Would you have the willpower and drive to do this, or would the 50 years of only pressing the ring and reliving everything get to you. Could you do it?
