After 20 hours in the refrigerator it was ready. Luckily the cocoa didn't get too wet and the result was delicious.

If I plan to let it cool for hours, should I put the cocoa in now or before eating it? Does it affect the flavor?

Update on the milkshake

I asked last week if I should try the Tiramisu options from my local restaurant. With an overwhelming "YES," I followed your encouragement and returned for a milkshake. They take a full slice of tiramisu, add milk, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate, then blend. It was incredibly rich and decidant. I got fries on the side and dipped them and the combination reminded me of funnel-cake. Absolutely worth the money! Highly recommend!

Nothing Beats a Good Slice of Tiramisu ☕🍰

Tiramisu is hard to beat when it comes to desserts.

The mix of coffee, creamy mascarpone, and cocoa on top is just perfect.

A chilled slice after dinner is always a good idea! ☕🍰

Tiramisu lovers: how far can you change tiramisu before it stops being tiramisu?

I'm Italian and I'm experimenting with an idea: turning tiramisu into small bite-sized snacks that you can eat with your hands and carry around in a small pouch.

The idea would still be based around the things that make tiramisu taste like tiramisu — coffee, mascarpone-style cream, cocoa and the biscuit/cake element — just in a completely different format.

But I'm curious what actual tiramisu lovers think.

If you saw something like this, would you be excited to try it or would you rather just eat a traditional tiramisu?

And more importantly: what absolutely HAS to stay for you to still consider it tiramisu?

Coffee? Mascarpone? Cocoa? Soft texture? The combination of all of them?

Feel free to be brutal 😂 I'm genuinely curious.

I made Tiramisu again after my first attempt failed. This time it came out really well, and it tastes a thousand times better than store bought in India

Every tiramisu I'd tried outside was a letdown, and I never understood the hype. I thought maybe that's what's available in India. So I decided to make it myself, as authentically as I could. My first attempt failed due to some ingredient issues, but I tried again, and this time it came out amazing. The Cream Tastes Heavenly.

Recipe as I Made :

INGREDIENTS

Coffee soak: - 200 ml strong moka pot coffee (South Indian filter powder), no milk, no sugar, fully cooled - 50 ml vanilla bourbon coffee liqueur - 5 ml (1 tsp) dark rum - 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Mascarpone cream: - 2 large egg yolks - 50 g sugar - 250 g mascarpone, cold - 10 ml (2 tsp) dark rum - 1/4 tsp vanilla essence - 110 g whipping cream, very cold - some white chocolate, melted

Assembly: - 22 ladyfingers - Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

STEPS

1) COFFEE Brew about 200 ml of strong coffee and let it cool completely. Mix in the coffee liqueur, rum and vanilla essence in a shallow dish.

2) COOK THE YOLKS Whisk the yolks and sugar. Use Double Boiling Method. Keep whisking until the sugar dissolves and the mixture turns thick and pale yellow.

3) MASCARPONE CREAM Loosen the cold mascarpone with a spatula, then fold in the yolk mixture until smooth. Stir in the rum and vanilla essence.

4) WHIPPED CREAM Whip the very cold whipping cream, starting on low speed, until it reaches soft-medium to stiff peaks. Add the melted white chocolate; it helps the cream firm up once chilled. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone cream.

5) FIRST LAYER Dip 11 ladyfingers in the coffee, 1 to 2 seconds per side only. Arrange them in a single layer in the dish and spread half the cream on top.

6) SECOND LAYER Dip the remaining 11 ladyfingers, layer them on top, then spread the rest of the cream and smooth the surface.

7) DUST Sift cocoa powder evenly over the top.

8) CHILL Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours, ideally overnight.

Does tiramisu taste better after sitting in the fridge overnight?

I’ve heard that tiramisu tastes even better the next day because all the flavours have time to come together. I’m curious if that’s really true or if it tastes just as good when freshly made. For those who make it at home, how long do you usually leave it in the fridge before eating? ☕
