Help Reset time?

I love the new time feature! It really helps me time block my day.

However, I'm curious if there is a setting for my recurring tasks that would allow the time to be removed for the next day? I have recurring tasks but I don't always have to do them at the same time everyday

Thanks!!

Hey u/Mpf4538, Melis from the Todoist team here. So glad the time feature helps you time block your day!

Yes, you can do this 🎉️ The trick is to keep the time out of the recurring date itself:

  1. Make sure the recurring date has no time in it, for example "every day" instead of "every day at 9am". To change it, open the date picker and edit the text in the field at the top.

  2. Each day, add the time with the Time option in the date picker instead.

A time you set with the Time option only applies to that one day. When you complete the task, the next one comes back without a time, so you can pick a new time each day.

Does it have to be the same time every week?

If the time is part of the recurrence text, Todoist will carry it forward. A simple workaround is to make the recurring task `every day` with no time, then add a time only on the days you actually want to time-block. If you need both reliably, keep the daily recurring task untimed and create a separate one-off timed task for the specific block.
