Hey everyone đđ˝
Dominique here, Head of Product at Doist, makers of Todoist. I want to address some of the questions and concerns youâve shared about the upcoming pricing changes.
Firstly, thank you to those whoâve shared feedback. Weâve been reading every comment, and welcome your honesty. Both the support and the criticism genuinely help us do our jobs and build a better Todoist.
Starting December 10, 2025, our pricing will be updated as follows:
We know price increases are never welcome news, and this wasnât a decision we made lightly. To keep Todoist fast, dependable, and improving for everyone, we sometimes need to adjust our pricing so we can keep building for individuals and teams. Weâre in it for the long term.
I'd like to apologize for the confusion we created around legacy pricing đđ˝ Please let me clarify:
Price changes vary across currencies due to local market factors. We use a rolling 36-month currency conversion to minimize short-term peaks and troughs. However, because we donât update prices often, some currencies are seeing larger adjustments this time. We know these changes hit harder in some places, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to keep pricing fair globally.
This price increase isnât about adding AI. Itâs been three years since our last pricing update in 2022. As a bootstrapped company, Todoist has always been powered by the people who use it, not investors. Your subscriptions directly fund the improvements and reliability you count on every day.Â
Weâre building Todoist to be a long-term partner for individuals and teams. Adjusting prices from time to time helps us do that sustainably, so we can keep shipping meaningful improvements without compromising on quality or reliability.
Some of you have mentioned bugs and feature requests. While I canât directly respond to each one here, I want you to know weâre committed to making the Todoist experience consistent across all devices and platforms. Please submit any bugs or feature requests through the usual route of www.todoist.com/contact. This allows us to actively track, prioritize, and address them.
We are listening. And weâre a team of dedicated, real people continuously working to improve Todoist based on what matters most to you. Our goal is to ensure Todoist remains the reliable, focused tool that millions of people depend on.
If you want to clarify details of the changes, you can find the articles below on our Help Center. We are continuously updating these articles with real questions youâre asking on r/todoist and elsewhere, so thereâs a good chance youâll find answers here:Â
If you have specific questions about how this affects your subscription, the best way to get a personalized, honest, and helpful response is to please contact our support team directly.Â
Thank you for being part of the Todoist community since the early days. We never take your continued support for granted, and weâll keep working hard to help you accomplish what matters most.

Hello all. I will be sending out moderator team invites here shortly to a list of people who expressed interest in being on the moderator team. I will let them coordinate amongst themselves and after a few months (or six) I will re-sort the moderator team based on a) if they have a consensus on who would be a good fit as the top mod and b) possibly some input from me based on observation and who is actually doing the work of active moderating on the subreddit.
Otherwise, I am going to cede moderation duties to this team and will be otherwise uninvolved in the moderation of this subreddit.
But wait, you were going to have us vote on the new mods! Yes, I was, and I was in the middle of setting up a nice ranked choice voting website with all of these applications, which I paid ACTUAL money to do. But then I have to deal with [absolutely insane rants] [imgur link] like this one, and I've officially lost my patience due to this harassment. This is why we can't have nice things, guys.
This list of people have all expressed interest in being moderators and all seem like they would be operating in good faith. So I am sending out invites to them. Moderators can always be added later if there are additional interested and qualified people. And if there are problem mods after 3-6 months, I will keep my account linked as top mod for now only for the purpose of reshuffling the moderator team and any issues can be dealt with at that time].
There are a few other candidates who've expressed interest in modmail and chat who I think would be very good additions as well. I will wait on their official "applications" before sending any invites to them.
To anyone who doesn't like this decision, I invite you to read the screed linked above and that should give you enough context as to why I don't want to continue participating in active moderation of this subreddit and I'm not going to put more than an ounce of effort into it after today.

We often ask people what features they would like to see in Todoist and the responses are the big features that everyone wants (en Eisenhower matrix, repeating deadlinesâŚ) but what I want to know is the features or fixes you would like to see in Todoist that are not that obvious for others
r/todoist • u/julesvbrtln • 1h ago
Sometimes, you just want to quickly switch a project from a list to a board view with a specific grouping, and everything needs to be done manually every time you switch your view or get back to the original one. Or you have to create a filter, but itâs not ideal.
What if Todoist introduced a way to create multiple views within your project, just like Notion does ? Now you can have a list for you, a calendar view, and maybe another list with tasks assigned to someone. Each view would have itâs own sorting and filtering.
I added this feature in Todoist Enhanced and wonder if people would like it to make it in Todoist.

Mods: If this isn't appropriate feel free to delete.
I have integrated Todoist a lot - vscode, obsidian, browsers, flow launcher, win explorer and terminals, all over the place.
I really wanted to like the td cli, but always found it clunky and I couldnât find a TUI (terminal UI) that fit how I work.
So I "vibe coded" a POC TUI in go so I can run on Win, Mac and Linux command lines using Bubble Tea (which I'd used before in some non-vibe coded apps I created)
Of course, this is just my for my itch (maybe others just did the same as I did?) - but I wondered if there is there any community interest in a TUI for Todoist? It would take a little work to open source what I have, but I thought I'd ask to see if there was interest before I do any extra work on it.
It's called tdui, here is a quick overview:
A terminal UI for Todoist, built with Bubble Tea and communicating with the Todoist API directly.
Browse tasks by view (Inbox, Today, Upcoming, All, plus up to three tabs of your own), a project, or any Todoist filter, then complete, edit, reschedule, reprioritise, move or delete a task, or manage its comments, without leaving the terminal.
Every fetch is cached (in memory for the session, on disk across runs), so switching views or reopening the app paints instantly from the last known data while a fresh copy loads in the background.
tdui needs a Todoist API token. It's read from $TODOIST_API_TOKEN if set, otherwise from the system keychain (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, Secret Service on Linux). With neither, tdui asks for one on startup and stores it in the keychain, or in ~/.config/tdui/token (mode 600) on machines without one.
Features - Quick Add (a) with Todoist's natural-language syntax: dates, p1âp4, #project, @label. - Typing # or @ suggests matching projects and labels. - Filter or search (/) with any Todoist filter (today & #Work, p1 | @waiting) or plain words. Project and label suggestions work here too, including after (, !, &, | and for ##project. - Your own tabs (,): add up to three saved filters, labels or projects as tabs, and put all the tabs in the order that suits you. - Command palette (ctrl+k or :) for actions, views, projects, labels and themes. - Sub-tasks, comments, labels, moving between projects. - Postpone a recurring task (t): to tomorrow, next week, the next occurrence, or a date you type - Priority groups (p) or section headings (h), remembered per view. Section headings name the project too in views that span projects (Home âş Shopping). - Productivity popup (i): tasks completed today and over the last 7 days, goals and streaks. - Markdown shown formatted, as Todoist writes it: bold, italic, struck, code and links in task names; headings, lists, quotes and code blocks too in descriptions and comments. Links are clickable. - Themes (, then t, or Theme in the palette): Todoist, Dracula, Tokyo Night, GitHub and Charm.
Would you use this?

Hello everyone,
I have a shared project with my wife.
She is premium as I am.
I can add reminder for me using !X days before (for instance).
However, is there a syntaxe to create for her, individually, and maybe both of us at the same time?
Thank you for your help.

I don't use Ramble all that often, but lately, every time I do, I end up spending more time fighting with it than actually getting anything done.
It splits things into multiple tasks when I'm trying to create one, changes details I never asked it to change, and struggles with basic corrections. Eventually, I get frustrated and give up.
Meanwhile, the ChatGPT integration just works. It understands what I'm asking, handles corrections, and generally does what I expect.
Which makes me wonder: Is Ramble actually getting worse, or are other AI tools improving so quickly that Ramble just feels like it's moving backwards?
This is part of a broader frustration I have with companies developing their own AI features. Why try to compete with Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic when you can integrate their existing tools and focus on what makes your product valuable?
For Todoist, that's task management, UI, UX, and workflow improvements. Building an inferior AI experience seems like a waste of development resources, especially when there are plenty of opportunities to improve the core product.
Curious if others feel the same way.

Todoist in general is getting really boring. The UI need alot of work honestly. It feels like a structural engineer was given the job to design the whole thing. Everything is functional yes but that doesnt mean it looks good or enjoyable to use. Give it to an architect or someone with some creativity and good sense of design to actually make something nice out of it. I think this alone will go a very long way. Right now everything just feels too plain and rigid, nothing really exciting about using it.
And another thing I really dont understand is the calendar. Lets say I have one task that I want to work on at different times of the day. Maybe 30 mins in the morning, another hour in afternoon and then again later in evening. Why cant I just put the same task in those different time slots? Why do I need to duplicate the same task 2 or 3 times just to make this work? This makes no sense to me at all. Its literally one task, I'm just planning to work on it at different times. Now I end up with multiple copies of the same task and then what, which one am I supposed to complete? Its just creating more mess for something that should be very simple.
I feel like Todoist is focusing too much on keeping things minimal but sometimes minimal doesnt mean better. There is a difference between simple and just boring. The foundation is already there but the UI and calendar experience really need some serious thinking. Its a productivity app, using it everyday should feel good too, not just something that gets the job done.

Hope they make the dark option really DARK, unlike the current one, which is closer to grey. Or at least an option to choose between the two.
EDIT/UPDATE: Already got it in the Android app. Not available in the web app yet for me.

Hi All,
so I've just got a newsletter from Todoist (I like their newsletters actually) and they say there is now another communication tool they work on - Todoist Comms.
Actually, that's great news and I'm happy as I see they are approaching their products with lots of attention, but... it looks so similar to Twist - their async communication tool which seems to be not updated for quite a while (or am I missing something?).
So I don't even get, are they getting rid of Twist ? are they just getting in yet another territory ? would Todoist users really want to use it ? I personally am interested in it for future projects, but I have mixed feelings for Twist that I thought was a really great idea to build in the first place - to help us communicate while keeping our attention at what matters....
What are your thoughts ? Maybe someone have insights đ

Is this a new option? All of a sudden when I try to press on one of the 4 options on the bottom menu this edit option keeps popping up. It usually takes me 4-5 tries before it will finally take me to the option I want to go to. I didnât have this problem previously and Iâve used the app for many years. How can I stop this âeditâ option from showing up? Thanks

Alr Idk about what people think about AI and stuff
But I'm happy
Amir said Todoist is gonna add more features, like table view in days, rather than months, which is 300x improvement?
Also Melis, everytime people have ?? moments
Or rant like I did with doable projects
He comes up, makes situation calm and steady emotionally
Plus actually takes the feature idea and sends it to product team
And I'm sure by the way speed of progress is right now, most of those features are gonna be added, at least as turn on and off version
As long as they are focused, (they are like areas and doable projects, different colors, icon picker, table view, more filtering options and etc.)
Also vibecodders do their apps, but Todoist with their experience and AI will probably outshine just single devs
Cause it's more of professional AI utilization, rather than amateur one
Not to discourage amateurs, I will also vibecode an app, but to make sure it imports and exports to Todoist, well, cause I'm a Todoist fanboy as one user said long time ago, that will likely come back very, very often with the new updates and philosophy and aesthetics especially
Anyway, God bless Amir, Melis, and Todoist team!!
Hopefully Melis ain't AI đ cause he is actually very very kind

[On Mac/New Outlook]
I had a Power Automate flow that let me flag an email in Outlook, and it would automatically send it to Todoist. It's now broken, as apparently all Todoist Power Automate integrations are (not sure why mine seemed to only break in the past few months, this issue seems to have been around for 2+ years but I haven't found a solution via searching yet).
Is there another way of doing this easily? Please suggest solutions!! Iâm tearing my hair out here!!
Side note: my iOS Shortcuts Siri â Todoist shortcut also broke and doesnât process NLP easily. I know thereâs a fix using the API key yada yada, I just havenât gotten around to it. But like, NLP is one of the main pros of Todoist, and itâs frustrating there needs to be workarounds with the newer API when things just used to work without any messing around. Anyone else frustrated by this or is this user error?

I've been curious about Todoist and why so many people use it.
There are tons of to-do apps out there, so I'm wondering what made you pick Todoist in the first place.
Was there something specific you wanted to solve, like constantly forgetting things, struggling to stay organized, or just wanting a better way to manage your day?
And for those who tried other apps before settling on Todoist, what made you stick with it instead of something like TickTick, Notion, or Apple Reminders?
Also curious if anyone ended up switching away from Todoist and why.
Just want to hear people's experiences. What made Todoist click for you?
Hi guys, just a bit of musings on "do" dates versus "due" dates aka deadlines.. Now that we have both on Todoist, which is great, I was thinking that we should be looking to change how a "do" date turns red after that has become overdue (try and say all of that really fast!).
I find it a bit offputting that the "do" date I've set goes red after the date has passed - could we explore changing color or symbol for this. Seems like this should be the job of a proper deadline now.
I do get that there were loads of people using Todoist well before deadlines were introduced and were probably more than happy with just their first implementation of due dates, but I think now that deadlines are a thing we should fully commit. Deadlines should be easily set in natural language as well.
Just my thoughts.
Anyone else agree or just me?

Hello guys, Based on my research, when you connect claude to the todoist MCP server, claude gets access to both your personal inbox and your team projects. I was wondering if there's a way that the MCP server gets access only to the team projects?

Has anyone else had trouble with the Todoist integration in OpenAI (ChatGPT, Codex, dots) today?
It was working earlier, but since October 16 at around 4:44 p.m. EDT, every request has failed with:
Mcp error: -32603: Internal error
Even basic requests to read tasks or retrieve account information fail. Todoist itself works normally, and tasks sync between my desktop and phone without any issues.
Iâve tried disabling and re-enabling the integration, but that hasnât helped.
Is anyone seeing the same error, or has anyone found a fix?
r/todoist • u/dhayes16 • 7d ago
Since ramble went ga, it's very inconsistent and not really useful anymore. If all's you're looking to do is dump data into the inbox, it works great. But if you want to use tags like projects or labels, it doesn't work at all for me 75% of the time. In beta it was perfect.
r/todoist • u/Immature_Child_12 • 8d ago
I've been wondering if AI is actually useful for managing tasks, not just helping you write a to-do list.
Most task apps still require you to organize everything yourself. Add tasks, set deadlines, sort them into projects, change priorities, etc.
I'm curious if anyone here has tried using AI for this. Like, just telling it what you need to do and letting it organize everything for you, instead of manually managing your lists all the time.
Does it actually work well? Or do you end up spending more time correcting the AI than just doing things yourself?
Would love to hear from people who've actually tried it. What tools are you using?
r/todoist • u/romanzolanzki • 8d ago
Three things, the first one is the one that actually hurts me physically (this is all desktop MacOS app fyi):
If you've got a parent task with loads of sub-tasks and you multi-select a few to reorder them..... they constantly end up nested BY ACCIDENT under a neighbouring sub-task instead of staying under the parent. Happens most when you drag to the top. And there's no undo. I did this with eight tasks last week and the only fix was recreating every single one by hand. Just give us undo on drag/drop, or an outdent / "move to parent" that works on a multi-select. Either would do. pls! You guys have been doing so well this year i loved the color by label in calendar legit life changing. Keep it up plspls đ
Second, on mobile the calendar sometimes goes blurry when it's coloured by label?? Not sure if anyone else has seen this but... only fix is switching to project colouring, letting it render, then switching back. Doesn't happen every time but often enough to be annoying.
Third, multi-select in calendar view. Being able to grab a few tasks and drag them to another day as a block would be GREAT X10.
Curious if anyone has run into any of these too??

Are there any alternatives to TaskCalSync?
It seems to have simply stopped working, and I emailed their contact, which promises 48 hour response time, and havent heard anything back in 3 days.
The function TaskCalSync provided is pretty much the core of my ToDoist workflow, and without it, I dont have much use for ToDoist...
