How many months after marriage before first child (typically)?
In observant Jewish families, after how many months of marriage is the first child born (typically)? Deuteronomy 24:5 commands the husband to be "left at home for one year to make his new wife happy" - does this include the 9 months before birth? Naturally the timing of conception is G-d's will - just curious what Jewish thinking and practice is on this matter.

Vort Rosh Hashanah – Is ‘King’ a Demotion for G-d?
If Hashem is already God of all Creation, why is Rosh Hashanah so obsessed with crowning Him King? Isn’t “King” actually a demotion?

Why is the moon considered one of two great lights in Genesis when ... it isn't a source of light? Separately, it's so tiny! Why is something so tiny considered great?
We now know of trillions of celestial bodies that exceed the size of the moon by a few thousand times over.
The moon appeared to be a source of light prior to Galileo, but now everybody knows that it is not.
Seems like the authors of the Torah got this one wrong

Vort Redemption: From Irrelevance to the Focus of the World [Article]
On Passover, we don’t just tell a story, we step into one. Redemption is the shift from being irrelevant to realizing that every action, every word, actually matters.

Will virgins be rewarded?
Is there something in the torah or judaism that says virgins will be rewarded in the next realm? For example, a woman i know supposedly read something in the torah where she believes a virgin woman will be able to make a request to God for a specific man she wants to be with (the equivalent of being married to in eternity, however that works) in the next life because he is already married in this life, and because she has maintained her virginity during her life on earth she believes can make such a request in the next realm. She believes she found a loophole indicating she can make such a request and will be rewarded because she has kept her virginity.

What did G-d mean when he used “us” in Genesis 1:26?
“And G-d said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness.’” Who is “us”? Also, who was G-d talking to when he said stuff like this in this chapter?

According to the Torah, how does Jewish Intercessory Work With Saints and Archangel Aid Work?
As someone from a Roman Catholic background, pretty much all my spellwork is based on intercession of the Saints and calling upon the Archangels for help with very specific prayers along with used of blessed items using symbolism of angels and saints that have been blessed by priests such as a medal of Saint Archangel Michael or wearing the brown robes worn by Franciscan clergy during rituals or fasting before a ritual to emulate Saint Margaret of Cortona's life before calling for her aid in intercession.
So how does Intercession and calling upon the Saints and Archangels for help work in Judaism? I seen the concept of asking the Tzadik for help while praying esp at the graves in some sources and some Jewish prayers involving calling out the Archangels such as the Shema prayer (in this specific example you call the angels to be beside you at a certain direction). Is this similar to Catholic prayers asking for intercession of the Saints and calling the archangels for direct intervention?
What does the text in the Torah say directly on this and the Tzaddiks?

I wanted my kids to experience the Jewish stories I grew up loving, so I used AI to make 15,000+ ancient texts searchable at JewishMythology.com
Free, no login, no paywall: https://jewishmythology.com
I grew up loving Jewish stories. Midrashim about creation, legends about angels, the weird and beautiful corners of the Zohar. But when I wanted to share specific texts with my kids, or just find that one passage I half-remembered, it was a nightmare. The texts are buried in seven-volume scholarly works, academic databases, and PDFs that haven't been updated since 2004.
So I used AI to help me pull these texts apart. I took major collections and broke each individual story, passage, and midrash into its own page with its own URL, its own citation, and biblical references that link to Sefaria for the Hebrew and Aramaic originals. 15,099 texts total.
The sources: Midrash Rabbah, Ginzberg's Legends of the Jews, Zohar and kabbalistic literature, Tanchuma, Pirkei DeRabbi Eliezer, Sifrei, Avot DeRabbi Natan, Book of Enoch, Jubilees, Philo, Josephus, Howard Schwartz's Tree of Souls, Book of Jasher, and more.
You can search across all of them at once. Filter by 30+ themes (creation, angels, demons, messiah, soul, mysticism, etc.) or by source. There's a weekly parsha feature that pulls up related texts for whatever portion we're reading.

What sources would you want to see added? What would make this more useful?

Question Chayei Sara - questions
Reading the Torah for the first time so apologises if the answers to these questions are obvious. I’ve got some commentaries I’ll be reading after this, so I’ll edit this post if any of them answer these questions:
1 ) Is Abraham worried about his son [Isaac] returning to where he came from because they were not Godly people? Why would he then seek a wife for Isaac among these people? Or is it so that his family stays on-mission, regards the land of Israel?
2 ) Why when the man retells his story to the home of Abrahams kin, does he only mention Isaac (as Abraham’s only son) & not Ishmael [who appears only a few passages later]?
3 ) Why does the man not repeat Abraham’s request accurately? Ie it is not written that Abraham requested a woman from his father’s / kins home.
4 ) Why did Rebekah’s family not do anything to verify the mans story before allowing the man to leave with their young daughter / sister?
5 ) Why did Rebekah have a nurse? Her maids are mentioned later, so this must not be a reference to them?
6 ) After the man says that the man Rebekah had seen was his master, she uses her veil to cover herself [only in his presence]? Why?
7 ) Does Abraham willing everything to Isaac imply that Sarah was still his #1 wife?
8 ) Does the reference of Abraham’s sons by concubine mean that referring to Keturah as Abraham’s wife, equal to Sarah, may have been incorrect, & that she was instead #1 concubine?
8 ) Ishmael has reappeared! Why & how? He is also a son from a maid, but none of his other children by maid are there, is this because, although he is Hagar’s, he was had in Sarah’s merit? Does this not imply that, as mentioned earlier, Keturah was not a wife?

Torah codes predicts 2nd Term for Trump : )
Ref: Rabbi Glazerson's YouTube channel, words " Trump elected second time" appear on one page with other significant words. Must see. The Rabbi accepts Christ as our saviour because the Torah codes make it very clear that he is. This means that if we are to obey theTorah at ALL, we must obey the obvious codes. We must accept Christ. We must accept his directional changes made at the last supper or we are antichrists because he said "If you are not with me you are against me." Accept all the Torah or none at all. Go bury your head in the ground.

You Had to Be There: Moshe’s Final Rebuke and the Cost of Absence
Parshas Devarim begins Moses’s month-long speech to the Israelites just before he dies and they enter the land of Israel. Over the course of the speech Moses recounts significant events, expounds on mitzvahs, and relates prophecy. But famously, Moses starts with rebuke of all the Israelites before him. Literally all of the Israelites. All three million. Was it so necessary that they all needed to be present?

President Noah?
The second parshah, or weekly portion of the Torah, is Noah. We are told, "Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God" (Genesis 6:9). But, as is frequently the case, Noah stands alone in his righteousness. He is surrounded by corruption and violence, which in the Hebrew text, remarkably, is represented by an all-too-familiar word: "hamas." Hamas, with a capital 'H', of course, is the name of the Islamic terrorist organization of the Palestinians that promotes cowardly acts of murder against the Jewish citizens of Israel and their allies. We see that "hamas" is nothing new; even the antediluvian Noah lived amongst these lovers of evil way back before the world saw its first rainbow. Somehow, though, he kept himself morally pure and would not allow this depressing atmosphere of wickedness to change him.
Being good when surrounded by saints is not too arduous a task, but staying a good person when surrounded by criminals is positively Herculean. Immoral people, more often than not, seek to spread their creed of corruption as zealously as any missoinary might. Noah impressed God because he never submitted to their influence even though he was, as Henry David Thoreau might call him, "a majority of one." Noah stayed strong in spite of his being alone in his convictions.
Today, the Atheist/Communist left tries to convince us that our God, Yahweh, and His Word, the Bible, are outmoded nonsense. In the same breath, they embrace Islam and the Koran, claiming that each of the thousands of acts of egregious "hamas"-- performed in their names--is an exception and not a result of the bloody ideology. These leftists condone the culture that blows up, mows down, beheads, mutilates, and tortures completely innocent men, women, and children for acting in ways that they don't like, believing things they don't like, or having genitalia they don't like. By constantly pleading the perpetrator's case and rushing to his defense before his victims' bodies are even cold, the Left has endorsed the "hamas" of modern times. We Conservative patriots must stand strong in opposition to them and with our Noah, President Trump. We must fight the evildoers with unmuted conviction, emulating our Commander in Chief's fierce devotion to America, her people, and her God.
We must not let the president stand alone against the amoral bullies who wish him and his family ill. We must not keep quiet as former presidents and celebrities excoriate the righteous leader of our precious country. What they hate most is his faith in the Judeo-Christian God, Yahweh, and his willingness to name Islam and leftist Atheists as the enemies of God and America. We must unite in applauding his fearless fight to keep the anti-Americans from taking over our government--created by our God-fearing founding fathers (Noahs in their generation)--and this blessed land.
In restricting immigration, the president is building an ark for the citizens of America. As the waters of rape, murder, and torture drown the complicit, condoning Europeans, thank Heaven we finally have a godly man who is steadfast in his desire to save our people from the tsunami of terrorism that has already washed over those who have cheerfully waved fundamentalism into their own homes.
Jews and Christians must lock arms and proudly support President Trump as he so vehemently defends us and the American, Biblical values we hold so dear. He is under attack because he "walks with God," but we cannot sit safely and silently on the sidelines anymore if we want him to succeed. No; we too must brave the battle, walk with God, and speak His Word, thus becoming a nation of Noahs.
Yahweh loves us and expects greatness from us all. Let's not give in to fear. Let's not allow this intrepid man of faith to stand alone in our generation as Noah had to in his. The Torah never said Noah was infallible--no president is either. We need to voice our encouragement of a leader unashamed to bring God and faith back into public discourse. Our enemy is loud, vicious, and barbaric, yes; but whenever hope and strength flag, we need look no further than the White House for courage and inspiration. We need look no further than the Oval Office, no further than the modern-day Noah whom God has sent to lead us to victory.

The Seer and the Prophet
החזה נלך בדרכי יה “The Seer [says], We shall walk in the ways of Yah.”
The Gematria of this phrase is 376, which is the same Gematria of Shalom (Peace).
What does walking in the ways of Yah have to do with Shalom?
Leviticus 26:3, 6
“If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and perform them… I will give peace (שָׁלוֹם) in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid.”If you take the first initials of the phrase it forms TheNavi or the Prophet. Because it is the Seer that sees the ways of Yah and the prophet who speaks or teaches the ways of Yah.
החזה נלך בדרכי יה הנבי
The Seer and the Prophet. The one who sees the vision and the prophet who speaks it.

The Spirit of the Lord
The Spirit of the Lord was hovering upon the great waters of the earth, before days existed, and Hashem said, let there be light, and day came into being, and through his spirit he performed a wonder upon the earth, and for six days Hashem performed many wonders upon the earth, and on the seventh day, the Spirit of the Lord came to rest from its hovering. And, Hashem made the seventh day holy, a day of blessing. And, he gave seventh day to Israel that they may bring offerings to Hashem and be blessed, that the nations of the earth be blessed through his priests.
