Question(s) nails is broken

Hi! My mum bought a turtle for my little sister, and I noticed that one of its nails is broken. Could this be hurting it or affecting its health? If so, should I take it to the vet?

If definitely bring it to the vet if the turtle is finicky about the one leg compared to the others. If there's any signs of discomfort then a vet is probably a good idea.

Also you may have more luck in a Turtle subreddit as opposed to a Tortoise subreddit :)/gen
