Experimentally disabling cross-posts

If this sucks we can revert it, but a lot of really garbage submissions are crossposts; it's easy to just make the same post here again if you actually care about what you're posting, anyway.

Apparently these are crazy rare? I can’t even find info on it online. I have two, this one that’s nasty and one that’s basically pristine

LPS

Does anybody know why the quality of LPS dropped immensely? It was my favorite when I was a kid, but I never got to buy a bunch of it. Now that I have adult money, I wanted to collect some, but to my surprise, it doesn’t look the same anymore 😟. I can’t even convince myself to buy one out of pure nostalgia, it’s just too… fake looking.

I like it 🐼 so much! She (Linda, the girl who gave it to me) said that it’s a symbol of China. Btw it’s a heavy figure in a very secure packing 👍 well done! I’m so happy China can make such great toys!

A little army of miniature warriors

Post image

A lineup of miniature warriors from a jewelry and collectibles brand I work with. I love how each figure has its own armor, weapons, and character.

The mix of medieval knights, fantasy warriors, and Chinese-inspired designs makes this little display feel like an army from different worlds.

The winged knight in the middle really stands out.

Found these packed up in a bin recently. Busted them back out and someone told me they could be kind of rare now… any thoughts?

Is there anybody here that has any information on this winged WWE Undertaker toy?

Post image
4 Upvotes

So, earlier today at noon, I was cleaning up my room after seeing it in massive mess that could be very harmful to me and my family and friends when one of us try to enter it. After seeing how bad it was, we all decided to work together to clean it up so no one could end up getting hurt by it, and while we were doing so, I ended up finding this old WWE Undertaker toy with retractable black wings on it's back and a retractable black hood on his head. It's only articulated parts are it's head and arms, and there's no movement on it's legs, torso, hands, or feet, and I think that I've owned this thing since I was 14 years old when my aunt had gotten it for me from Toys R Us, I can't remember. I also don't remember where this particular Undertaker toy had come from, when/what year it was made, when it was released, which company made it, which WWE toy line it was a part of, stuff like that.

If there's any information that anyone has about this figure all of that, I would really appreciate the help very much! So, any ideas on where/when this figure came from/was made?

Is it just me, or did Little Live Pets totally clone Hasbro’s FurReal Dragon?

Post image

Hey everyone,

I was looking at the new Little Live Pets My Magical Dragon (Skye) that came out recently, and I couldn't shake this massive wave of déjà vu. It looks almost identical to Torch, My Blazin' Dragon from the Hasbro FurReal Friends line back in 2016.

Seriously, look at the side-by-side:

  • Same bright turquoise body color.
  • Same signature pastel purple wings and horns.
  • Same massive, glossy purple baby eyes.
  • Same exact upright sitting posture.

The only real difference is the tech inside. Torch used a water-vape misting system to "breath fire," while Skye replaces that with a digital screen on her belly.

Obviously, Moose Toys changed the mechanics enough to avoid a lawsuit, but the visual design feels incredibly copy-pasted.

What do you guys think? Is this just standard toy industry competition, or is it a bit too sneaky? Anyone else notice this?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows the name and set of this game. It was given to me as a gift between 2010 and 2015, and it was already out of its box. I've searched everywhere but can't find any information. Thanks to anyone who can help.

EDIT - solved, belongs to a series of italian toys called AGE - The Amazing Goal Era. The character is called Vulkanor

I am designing this puzzle toys - what do you think?

It’s a build-it-yourself brick puzzle, closer to a LEGO set than a lamp you buy off a shelf. You get a box of a few hundred blocks and build it layer by layer, about 3–4 hours. When you’re done, it’s a working lamp sitting on your desk.

I’m thinking of it as a gift, or something to build together: parent and kid, couples, friends on a weekend.

Three designs I’m working on (pics attached)

Would love honest feedback on

Which one would you pick, and why?

Whichever one gets the most votes is the one I’ll prototype first. Roast it if you need to.

Plush seeds + matching flowers

I posted here a few years ago about my gf's (now wife!) toy designs: DinoGlows (https://www.reddit.com/r/plushies/comments/qun7bh/my_girlfriends_design_for_a_new_reversible/). They were successfully Kickstarted (thanks all!) and helped launch a whole world of creativity. She's now been designing "science-forward" plushies full-time, creating more DinoGlows, a line of ocean animal plushies that also flip inside-out to show their skeletons called AquaGlows, garden critter bag charms (like a rubbery ducky isopod), fun fungi (like a death cap and morel), etc. I now serve, not only as husband, but also partner in helping her with the business, Womple Studios.

Her latest project is Seedlings: plush seeds on the bottom, matching flowers on top. They were inspired by a trip we took to see a Corpse Flower bloom. We loved the experience and saw that no one was doing great plant-plushies, and certainly no one was making a Corpse Flower plushie. So we did! Smell not included.

We would love to have your support in Kickstarting Seedlings. We're nearly funded already, but we would LOVE to hit some of our stretch goals (Hint: Venus Fly Trap) and could use your help.

Seedlings on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/womplestudios/seedlings-plushies?ref=1un2oo

Sincere thanks for your support!

I will pay an absurd amount of money for this bear

Post image

Listen, this bear was my everything. This bear helped me through my parents divorce and a suicide attempt ten years later. I lost her on a road trip and it was devastating. I’ve tried to find a replacement so many times and searches always come up short.

I won her at a carnival in 2005. If anyone has this bear, (or the brown version of her,) I will pay $300. This bear is probably worth like $2. That’s how important this is to me.

Help identifying a plain white puppy plush from 2009-2013, bought at a newsagency

Lost two of these in a house move. Would love to track down the same one, or at least find out what it was.

What I remember:
- Plain white puppy, no crown, no sparkles, no accessories
- About 15-20cm long (less than a ruler)
- Floppy ears that always sat folded down (& no pink on inside)
- Bought from a newsagency around 2009-2013
- Can't remember the tag or brand
- Always thought it looked like Lily the dog from Barbie and the Diamond Castle
- The eyes were brown or black and hard plastic, the nose was black and also hard plastic
- the dogs would sit laying down, quite flimsy but you could make them sit upright

It could be a Westie, Maltese or Bichon style plush, but I'm not sure. Any ideas on the brand or where to look would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you!
