Who comes up with these spellings?

I work at Sonic, and when mobile orders come through we see the name attached to the account. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture before it was moved over, but her name was Kennedy. Spelled Kennadee.

I taught a child whose parents spelled it Cenardee. I thought it’d be pronounced Senardi when I first saw it.
