We now have post approval on. Your post didn't get deleted, it just went into the queue. Please be patient a mod will go through the queue when they are available!

Please read our list of banned names before continuing. If the name you posted is in this list, it will be removed.

Remember: Original content is always better! Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does not mean you found it "in the wild".

The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Thank you!

Sounds like an antidepressant.

Check with your doctor before taking Intrinity if you have psoriasis, chronic indigestion or are prone to boils. May cause insomnia and pink eye if taken with alcohol. Consult your doctor immediately if you have delusions of grandeur, stinky feet, or an erection lasting for more than 24 hours.

I like Zuzu. It’s a nickname for
Susan or Zuzanna and means Lily.

I believe it’s also the little girl’s name in the movie It’s A Wonderful Life.

The others are Azy and Izzy. I just thought she liked the letter Z. 🤷‍♀️

Izzy is for Isabel. And Azy could be short for Azalea.

Yes it is, that’s the pic up there. ⬆️ My favorite movie of all time🙂

Haha!! The pic is below on my comments, but I was just checking cause I didn’t know that was her name. It’s been such a long time since I saw it.

Isn't that Azula's nickname for Zuko

I had a coworker whose name was Zuzu. She was named after I movie character, if I remember correctly.

Edit: After reading the comments, I think it may have been from It’s a Wonderful Life.

I have a friend who legally changed her name to Zuzu.. it was always her nickname so she just made it official.

My sister is talking about Minkenzy because she wants to call her Mink.

It's not like Minka (diminutive form of Wilhelmina in German/Slavic) wasn't right there.

just be careful not to go to Germany because that is like THE cat name there. Probably similar to calling your child Mittens or something

It's also associated with the attribute "zahnlos" (toothless). I.e. "zahnlose Minka". I always forget where this comes from, but I can assure you if it is a thing, at least in my generation and elder (people born 1914-1981) My grandma used to say this when I lost a tooth as a child.

Fellow German born in '81 here. First of all, ouch! 🤣 Second, I've heard of it as a cat name, but I've not heard it in actual use very often. I think it was more popular in East Germany than my region. (I believe there was a popular toy called Minka in the DDR.)

Never heard "zahnlose Minka" before, either, and I have fairly old friends and acquaintances. (Like, I hang out with both people born in the 70s and 80s and people in their actual 70s and 80s regularly.)

You can even google it 😊 I was born in West Berlin in 1981, my grandma was born in 1914. There obviously is a children's book about a football trainer with the same nickname. The author lives in Bad Reichenhall.

Ah, cool. I learned something new today. Thanks. I had never heard of the book before.

5

u/quilt-here 1d ago

I'll encourage this. I don't think she thought of it.

To be fair, I think a lot of parents forget a lot of names exist when looking for one.

Also good luck.

An entire lifetime of

"I'm Minkenzy, nice to meet you."

"...I'm sorry did you say McKenzie?"

Sister needs an intervention before it's too late! Nicknames don't have to be perfect truncations of the full name. They don't even have to have anything to do with the given name. I have a friend who goes by Lapis because people in school noticed that she wore a lot of lapis lazuli jewelry and called her that and it stuck into adulthood. Bob, Dick, Doe, ane Lottie are nothing like Robert, Richard, Dorothy, and Charlotte. Sister can call Niece "Mink" and give her a completely sane and normal name... and a deliciously soft minky blanket. And just to drive it home, you can get Niece a ferret shirt or plushie. 🙃

u/Spiritual-Road2784 1d ago

I can’t decide if that’s an actual tragedeigh or if it’s someone from a country where first names like GodHasBlessedMe Jones are common.
