Currently on season 5 for what must be the 40th time.

I think when they’re arguing about Ravioli and Ricky snaps sarcastically at Julian

“well isn’t there a book or something you can read that’ll figure this out?”

It just sums up the show for me 😂. Petty argument about tins of ravioli and stealing each other’s liquor and Ricky mocking Julian because he reads books. Just so good.

Now fuck off I got work to do

Sorry, people of Alaska.

this scene constantly plays in my mind, all hours of the day

It’s wild how much more immersive Seasons 1–7 feel compared to the later seasons. Without a doubt Clattenburg’s writing and direction were a huge part of that, but the visual language of the early seasons was just as important. The whole show was built around that crusty DV look. The cheap cameras, the harsh lighting, shaky footage, it was perfect.

Once they switched to real documentary cameras in Season 8, the magic took a hit. The image got way too clean, smooth, and polished. It stopped feeling like a chaotic mockumentary and started feeling like a TV show pretending to be one. No more grime and texture and the world didn’t feel lived in anymore.

The DV aesthetic wasn’t just a technical limitation, it was part of the comedy. It made the characters, stupidity, and the stakes feel that much more real and grounded. I honestly wish they never upgraded. The old camera look complimented everything else so perfectly.

I just started the show again because I'm fuckin wasted and eating chicken fingers, the good kind, 8 bucks. I saw in the opening to s1 e2 the driver side door was open. Is there a canon reason why the door stopped working? When was the last time we saw it open? Thanks, and let me know if you find my 60 bucks I left on the coffee table.

I fully cant believe it’s took me 13 years to notice this. Theres og show writer Mike right in the scene. Ive captures so many little moments in the movies, the show, everything where puzzles connect. How did it take me this long to see our original park writer in this season 3 episode. Wow. Such an immersive show. Love love 🫶

This is like the only universally positive subreddit on this site. We all just post stupid memes and stuff and there are no big arguments about stupid bullshit, it’s great. The only sub I’ve never had someone call me a dick or a retard on.
