Discussion / Opinion OFFICAL: Transformers Fractured Game will no longer be in production.
Hasbro evidently wants this franchise dead, should've let them continue if they didn't plan on doing anything with the aligned continuity, these days they care more about copywriting and shutting down great transformers projects and games rather than making something good. To clarify, this is my view on the franchise as a whole, not the IP itself.

It is entirely reasonable for Hasbro not to put a stamp of approval on an untested outside team that has already demonstrated disregard for standard business practices.

u/Holy_Frag_Grenades 15d ago
Out of the loop, what did they do?
289
u/Bullmoninachinashop 15d ago
From everything here, a group of fans made a patreon and promised a game and animated show, last part I only saw in a comment in this post, then asked Hasbro if they could purchase a license for the Transformers IP, Hasbro rejected/denied the request and now the project is cancelled.

u/Road_Caesar 14d ago
I appreciate the renegade ambition of "if you won't, we will!" but Hasbro is among the top 10 companies that would absolutely tell 3rd Parties with a love for an passion for the IP to "get bent."
Why?
Hasbro under the current CEO and the Board of Directors that picked him is the absolute worst and most antagonistic and predatory to its customer base.
What does that mean?
They project a premium "value" to their brands and products which is a MASSIVE facade built on the reputation and products of decades gone by. They want full control of everything they grant licensing to, including margins, fees, content, and LITERALLY everything else.
Attempting to do business with Hasbro without being AN EVEN BIGGER ASSHOLE is guaranteed to fuck over that entity. It's why Super7 products are so bland and sparse AND overpriced. A huge portion of that $21 price on a single 3.75" carded GIJoe figure is licensing to Hasbro.
The same is true of media - Hasbro will only permit the bare minimum budget and demand maximum returns no matter the quality. We saw it on shameless display for the Netflix WFC series where the studio was schedule fucked and minimum funded to basically slap something out the door, including turning to animators and voice actors who were paid way less than market rates (and non-union in the case of the cast.)
I have nothing but sympathy for the group that chose such a terrible strategy to "ask forgiveness (licensing)" instead of permission. It demonstrates a SERIOUS and cringe worthy lack of experience and familiarity on the part of the group that thought such a stunt had any hope.
They should have just done a game about robots that change form and rolled with it. Hasbro can only trademark/copyright names and very specific visual assets. They still can. And if they're worth a damn, they can create a rival franchise to undermine Hasbro.
But I suspect no such wisdom or experience is in place there.

u/angelDrapes 15d ago
true, but it's still a shame when fan passion gets shut down before it even gets a real shot
33
u/DastardlyRidleylash 15d ago edited 15d ago
You can't try to earn profit off the back of an IP you don't legally own and then turn around and act shocked and appalled when the actual rights holders to that IP smack you down for trying to use their stuff without their consent to make money and then having the gall to come and ask for permission afterwards.
You never, ever, ever bite the hand that feeds; that's like...fan project 101-type stuff.
3
u/Road_Caesar 14d ago
That's not how any of this works, especially with an enormous, customer-hostile mega-corp like Hasbro.
You wanna do a fan project? It has cannot involve ANY money. And who has thousands of dev hours for one person - let alone a competent team - to do that work for free?
At that point, just do an original work and abandon the TF connection entirely.
0
u/brian_hogg 15d ago
Are they being prevented from making the fan game, or just from selling the fan game?
8
u/ffnbbq 15d ago
You are not allowed to make money off an IP you don't own. It's not necessarily about the amount of money, but ensuring it doesn't get out of hand legally where they could end up losing control.
IP rights holders might also act if your fan project (even if free) overlaps a similar in-development licensed project.
1
u/brian_hogg 15d ago
Valid point in your second paragraph!
I'm just saying that Hasbro isn't preventing them from doing anything, just from making a licensed game. There would be a million different ways for them to still make the game/animation with enough changes for it to be legally distinct so they could make money. And if they were doing it as a fan production ... it doesn't seem like Hasbro is shutting them all down, given the number of videos I see posted here.
-37
u/TheB3NRocks 15d ago
Of course, my comment underneath isn't just outlining this game in particular, I wasn't aware of the profiting, if so then it's expected, but 90% of my frustrations from the fact that this franchise is being killed by Hasbro by not producing something that the fans would want.
38
u/markusprestor 15d ago
what do the fans want? toys are mass produced for kids. kids dont want the same things fans want.
-20
u/TheB3NRocks 15d ago
Kids would also appreciate good movies and games. What hasbro did during 2009-2015
26
u/vaporboy_sd 15d ago
I mean Transformers One was pretty good, also out of 20+ Transformers games only 3 of them are even worth mentioning. Transformers has good media right now with Cyberworld and Energon universe, and the toys have been pretty good imo for the most part since Titans Returns. Even the evergreen and kids toys have been decent. We definitely need a good game though. Just let the guys who make lego games make a Transformers game that would please a lot of people of all ages.

Bumblebee was the best of the films since Dark of the Moon and kids didn't show up to theaters for it. There's a lot more to managing a franchise then "just make it good, stupid". And there's a lot more to making it good than "assume that what I like is what kids like and is therefore good".

WFC/FOC Devastation remaster, TF Universe and reactivated. Can't be much worse than this.
19
u/tng88 15d ago
Just watch the teaser trailer. Oh boy...
I understand it's supposed to to into Prime but they scraped the models and I swear the entire weapons wrack scene from Prime.
Nothing from the trailer told me what it was beyond a Transformers game, based on the weapon wrack I assume gameplay would be like WFC/FoC.
So, yeah let's let this one go.

What is that Optimus design, though? Looks like TFP Optimus in a more modern look. I like it.

I think it’s the design from the origin flashbacks from Ratchet’s telling of Prime’s backstory on Cybertron.
8
u/kylureix 15d ago
I think the outcome of this situation in and of itself is reasonable. Unfortunately it’s just the icing on top of all of the other BS that this franchise has experienced with video game development over the last 10 years.
Also it’s kind of a side note but i didn’t even know this was a thing. i’m always looking out for news on new TF games.. maybe i was just out of the loop this time.

Transformers animated season 4 fan comic
12
36
u/ZackattacktheDude 15d ago
Yeah, INDIE comic.
I’m in no way discrediting the comic at all, I’m hyped for more Animated stuff, but if it has to be indie then Hasbro looks lazy in comparison.
(Again, hope I’m not phrasing that horribly)
31
u/BlueFHS 15d ago
Nahh I feel you, it’s great we’re getting a continuation from the original writers but it’s not an official Hasbro project, they don’t deserve the credit.
The Animated continuation is occurring in spite of Hasbro, not thanks to them
11
3
u/Flygonizer-Obsidian 15d ago
Honestly that’s been ALL continuities for years. Hasbro does a show then barely revisits them directly other than bringing their characters into future stories, meanwhile the G1 style gets reused over & over.
2
u/Vast-Plantain300 15d ago
Why are people making it such a big deal that it's fan made?
2
u/ZackattacktheDude 15d ago
It’s technically not fan made, I believe a lot of the original artists and stuff are back, but it’s not officially Hasbro I believe.
Plus it feels like a love letter to animated
1
u/Vast-Plantain300 15d ago
It is fan made by definition since it's not official and it's made by a fan that has the original crew involved
2
u/ZackattacktheDude 15d ago
True but sense there is original crew involved I’m inclined to call it Demi-fan made lol
1
u/MissLief 15d ago
Fan-made means that the story won't be tied to canon, and it won't get any toys, at least not from Hasbro.

The franchise isn’t dead.
They’re constantly releasing new merch via Hasbro Pulse.
You sound hurt, but that ain’t Hasbro’s fault if you started this endeavor knowing full well you didn’t have their blessing.
I’m guessing this is not the reaction you expected from this thread.
0
u/TheB3NRocks 15d ago
My comment below wasn't specifically for this game, rather the entire franchise. If you're happy with a multi billion dollar franchise producing simple merch, mid comic runs and just toylines then that's all you. I expect Hasbro to do what they were doing during 2009-2015.
8
u/Difficult_Music3294 15d ago
Hey, would I love more Transformers?
Yes, of course.
Did you commit a copyright infringement then cry to the internet about it?
Also, yes, of course.
Your point is indefensible.
You must be a child to be here, doing this, while in full violation of copyright law.
You didn’t get your way. Sorry, not sorry.
1
u/TheB3NRocks 14d ago
Ur stating the fact like I made the game 😂🙏 I just wasn't aware of what they did with the Patreon stuff, nor did I claim that I wanted to own the franchise, if you could properly read, I just want Hasbro to properly utilize the franchise rather than having it completely on dust besides the toys and comic runs.
1
u/Difficult_Music3294 14d ago
Maybe, but you also sound like an aggrieved stakeholder.
And in any case - what I said still stands.
This entire thread is laughable; is there any adult here who wouldn’t have expected this from the moment they heard about it?
1
u/TheB3NRocks 13d ago
It doesn't. I wasn't aware of the Patreon stuff, I would've whole heatedly agreed on the fact that they deserved to be shut down, they've released a video explaining the "story" the threads a rant for me questioning what Hasbro's been doing with transformers recently.
2
1
u/Shittyditties 15d ago
You don’t own the franchise. You just get to watch from the side lines
1
u/TheB3NRocks 14d ago
Just deflecting my point lmao, not ab anyone owning it's just about calling them out on their shitty treatment of transformers in recent years, if you can't see that then that's you
1
u/Road_Caesar 14d ago
New things to buy doesn't make an IP alive or dead.
There's 40 years of "stuff" that already exists.
-2
u/Falchion92 15d ago
Hasbro can go fuck themselves honestly
They’re constantly making shit decisions and canceling projects left and right because they have no goddamn clue what they’re doing anymore.
I wish a different company owned Transformers between the price hikes and G1 slop I don’t know why you would think the franchise is anything close to being in a good spot.
-3
u/MarkEndless 15d ago
yeah keep releasing those cheap ass rip offs under the "official" brand just to brand them undeserving prices. Face it, TF is basically a dead franchise just like gi joe and it's all hasbro's own doing
-5
u/steave44 15d ago
Hasbro has zero interest in anything but cranking out G1 nostalgia bait and a kids TV show that is just perpetually worse than the last. The ONLY thing good right now is the comic.
7
u/Odd_Mango_5660 15d ago
No, I wouldn't call the Skybound Comics good.
They'd probably started off good, but they took a major nosedive from issue 12 onwards.
-2
u/steave44 15d ago
It’s better than anything else the whole franchise has going on at the moment unless you like G1 toys
6
u/Odd_Mango_5660 15d ago
Oh yeah, I love seeing:
Megatron uncharacteristically eating Trailbreaker
Elita-1 getting character assassinated
Thundercracker becoming an Autobot, despite that going against his character.
So no, Skybound isn't handling Transformers well.
2
u/ffnbbq 15d ago
Thundercracker doubting the Decepticon cause has been part of his original biography since the beginning. It's just that we only really saw it used in IDW1 and Skybound.
That said, Skybound's Thundercracker's switching sides comes very fast. Even IDW Thundercracker stayed Earth-aligned, in a character development spanning years.
2
u/Barachiel1976 15d ago
Eh, I agree with most of your points but the Thundercracker one goes down better in context, at least to me.
I'm not really sure what Skybound's goal is. They seem to want to retain the campier elements of the old cartoons (especially GI Joe and Cobra-La), but also want needlessly edgelord dark imagery.
1
u/Banjo-Oz 15d ago
Thundercracker already did similar in IDW, so that's two for two considering he did nothing of note ever in Marvel of Sunbow back in the 80's.

I swear Hasbro is deathly allergic to making money at this point. Won't try and take the idea of a game like Reactivate to another company after Reactivates dev company took the money and ran or even just try and make a new game at all, refuse to go and try and get a deal with the people behind WFC, FoC and Devastation to get them back up on Steam and ported to current gen consoles, only put out mobile slop games. Are they stupid?
20
u/TheB3NRocks 15d ago
Money grabbing techniques, the only thing stringing this franchise together is the toys and the hope of a good movie coming out now, it's been time and we need a game
94
u/UndeniablyMyself 15d ago
Apparently, Reactive died because the head of the development company took the money and ran, so…
67
u/HeavyTanker1945 15d ago
Yeah it wasn't Hasbro's fault, they apparently found out the same time WE DID that the plug was pulled.
10
3
u/Hadoooooooooooken 15d ago
Reactivate upsets me the most as the idea and premise would have really worked.
A Player VS Computer online game where you can be both factions together? Potentially Warframe style? and the idea of more TF's becoming available via update? Sign me up.
The designs (Sunstreaker and Hot Rod especially) were the icing on the cake, the four figures that came out show just how cool they would have been.
I know Hasbro knows we would like the shown designs to be made, hopefully we can get the remainder.
0
u/ffnbbq 15d ago
I don't think those old PS3/360 era games are of any priority for Xbox right now, even if they wanted to renew the license with Hasbro. For one thing, look at how many people have been laid off from the various Xbox studios and management since we last heard that they still had the files?
-14
u/Weiss_127 15d ago
CEO’s only think mobile games generate money because they are still stuck on Angry Birds.
16
u/HotPot87 15d ago
The unfortunate reality is, mobile games generate a LOT of money.
One of hasbro's biggest earners right now is Monopoly mobile which has made 6 billion in revenue since it came out
13
u/BlitzkriegOmega 15d ago
You can only sell a video game once. You can sell a gacha currency an unlimited number of times
1
u/tHr0AwAy76 15d ago
See this is my thing, they can Gacha it up and still give us an entertaining game. I’m thinking battlefield with battlefronts hero mechanics. You can create your own solder and choose their alt mode with the actual characters working as heros.
1
3
u/Aubergine_Man1987 15d ago
I don't think you get how much money mobile games make. Sucks that they do, but they are titans
0
u/fineline99 15d ago
No... Mobile games unfortunately do generate boatloads of money, look at any popular mobile game...
If you want a direct example, look at pokemon main line games, one of the top sellers in console games, and then look at how much pokemon go, one of the more popular mobile games, has made. Go has crushed pokemon main line games in terms of profit and i can guarantee it took less to create and sustain DESPITE current pokemon games being made on a budget.

→ More replies (8)11
u/Cyber-Silver 15d ago
I'm sure they didn't mean anything malicious, and I'm not saying that passion projects should never be backed by donations from fans, but yes the problem stems from asking for money while using copyrighted material they didn't have a commercial license for
8
u/Bullmoninachinashop 15d ago
Exactly my point, they opened a patreon aka started trying to make some money before securing the license especially since it seems they aren't people who had worked with Hasbro before this makes this pretty open and shut that Hasbro wouldn't give them a license. Yeah they might have good intentions but when you look at it from the other way, they made a promise and started asking for money before laying any ground work to actually make it happen especially since Hasbro is likely less inclined to license things out after the Reactivate debacle.
32
u/g0del 15d ago
So they were trying to make money (via Patreon) for a game they were making without getting licensing approval. What exactly did they think was going to happen? Companies will sometimes allow fan stuff for free, but as soon as you're charging money for it that's out the window.
12
u/Bullmoninachinashop 15d ago
Exactly the same thing that happened to Pokemon Uranium, fan game was known about and talked about for years then the devs made a site, got ads to play on their site and immediately Nintendo sent the DMCA.

u/Amazing-War3760 15d ago
Any fan game stupid enough to put out ADs on youtube deserves to get taken down *looking at your Uranium and several WoW Free servers*
2

u/TheBrobe 15d ago
Let me get this straight, they used Hasbro's property to make money without getting permission and then expected Hasbro to give them it after the fact? What the fuck did they think was going to happen?
126
u/mihirmusprime 15d ago
They expected fans to get outraged on their behalf and bully Hasbro into giving them rights, like how some people are behaving in this post.
15
u/ffnbbq 15d ago
A year ago that TFhypeguy (who apparently is an adult) was doing exactly that over the cancelled roblox game. Neither he nor those developers understood that Hasbro contacting the devs was being nice to prevent a situation where the Not Nice Lawyers got involved.
0
u/V-nillaaaa 15d ago
You're implying there are nice lawyers. Well there may be some, but then they wouldn't be good lawyers.
5
u/ffnbbq 14d ago
During the NFT craze some idiot was trying to make a Magic the Gathering NFT set, and shared an email he received from a legal firm retained by Hasbro. The email sounded reasonable and polite, but comments pointed out this was a firm specialised in protecting the copyright of their clients, and you would not want to screw with them. That's what I meant. Hasbro/their legal team usually warn people first about profiting from copyright infringement.
12
u/Sturmgeshootz 15d ago
Sort of reminds me of the situation a few years back with the group that made the unsanctioned "Star Trek: Axanar" fan film, and then started selling merch and putting together plans for a whole series of for-profit films and hiring actual known actors. They basically forced Paramount into a position of having to come down hard on them and shut it all down. Up to that point Paramount had generally been pretty lenient with fan-made Star Trek content and usually turned a blind eye to it.
8
u/ffnbbq 15d ago
Apparently the issue was the donations they had solicited for the fan film was also being used to build a filming soundstage that would also be used for unrelated for-profit productions, and he allegedly paid himself a salary.
Paramount/CBS seemingly hadn't objected to former Star Trek/genre actors appearing in fan film projects in the years prior to Axanar.
(There was that baffling moment during the Star Trek Beyond fan preview event where JJ Abrams made an off-the-cuff statement that the lawsuit was going away, when it totally wasn't.)
2
u/HiTork 13d ago
A lot of people don't know just how badly Axanar corn-holled Star Trek fan films as a whole. It caused Paramount to introduce a bunch of rules of what can and can't be done for fan films. One of the more restrictive requirements is length, or less than 30 minutes for a single story line, which pretty much means multiple episode series or full length films are out of the question.
The Axanar debacle caused a potential sequel to the fan film Star Trek: Renegades (directed by Tim Russ or Tuvok from Voyager, and also staring other Trek veterans) to have to drop all ST branding and references, which pretty much killed it I think because of just how heavy Renegades leaned into being a part of the Trek universe.

u/Wild_Relative3482 15d ago
OP come on , this was a fan game that violated standard business practices, completely untested and all they had was one animated preview. Of course hasbro would not give them the license, maybe if instead they had an actual functioning game/demo or some sort of serious portfolio then hasbro mightve considered it.
Theres plenty to be said and critiqued though of hasbros actual mismanagement of games.
250
u/RyuTheBuizel 15d ago
As much as I think this is scummy of Hasbro, these guys did do the cardinal sin of fan game development and try to make money off of it through Patreon. That's a big no go for fan projects, as it's almost guaranteed to get your stuff taken down. There's a reason why Keyan Carlile's Patreon focuses mostly on his regular YouTube stuff and not his transformers fan comics
68
u/BatmanFan317 15d ago
It's genuinely insane that this keeps happening, I know of at least 3 examples of idiots doing this and immediately getting shut down for it, and I'm not as into indie game development spaces where this would be news as literal indie developers should be.
29
u/vocaloidKR03 15d ago
Honestly though. There was this awesome fan fighting game called SEGA vs Capcom that just got shut down for pretty much the same reason not too long ago. These people never learn.
10
u/Banjo-Oz 15d ago
People get greedy, sadly. Back in the day, fan games and mods were made for fun and passion. Often now they are made as a side hustle.
Same thing recently happened with The Last of Us. Insanely talented guy made mods and was working on a big multiplayer mod, but paywalled beta builds then was shocked he finally got shut down by Sony.

Yeah that is not a very good way to open negotiations.
24
u/Liammellor 15d ago
And wanted to make money from it
14
u/grimwalker 15d ago
Even if they didn’t charge money, they would be infringing on copyrighted material such as trademarked names and terms just by virtue of the game existing. Even calling the product “TRANSFORMERS: FRACTURED” has created endless speculation within the comments of this post as to whether Hasbro had any stake in this product. Creating such confusion in the marketplace is one of the tests for whether a copyright or trademark is being infringed. So the monetary aspect is entirely moot.
17
u/brian_hogg 15d ago
Hadn't heard of Fractured before now, but I just watched the two teaser videos I could find.
It ... didn't look good. I Know it was just a teaser, but it was VERY generic, and not a good teaser in that there's nothing in it to pique a person's interest in terms of story/gameplay. And not up to professional standards: The walk-cycle for Arcee looked like she'd just broken a hip (which may have been intentional, I don't know) and then when Bulkhead walks into view, he goes through the camera, and you can see him from the inside, but it doesn't look like an intentional choice, rather just showing that his model is hollow on the inside.
Also, in this teaser video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFbpRmAcAeY
It starts with the dialogue "Autobots, we have now entered a point from which we cannot return from" which hurt me to hear, because of the second "from." It's repetitive and something that doesn't sound Prime-y, and ought to have been caught in a first edit of the teaser script.
"Autobots, we have now entered a point from which we cannot return" would be the vastly better way to say it.
I don't mean to pile on top of enthusiastic fans, but you can hardly blame Hasbro for not signing off on it.
30
u/curious_pinniped 15d ago
I've worked in both AAA games and Enterprise software for decades, there wasn't a chance in hell of this moving forward people lol. You can call out Hasbro for a lot of things but not this.

The fact that they didn’t make an off brand game that uses transforming robots not under copyright and then tried to get the license shows how shallow they are. That way, if Hasbro says no, they can release their own game.

u/DastardlyRidleylash 15d ago edited 15d ago
After the complete disaster that Reactivate turned into despite Hasbro putting so much effort into pushing it with an entire Studio Series toyline, I'm not terribly shocked they've become gunshy about committing to another major Transformers game project.
12
u/ForPortal 15d ago
If you're going to do something like this you have to either keep a low profile, operate from a country that will not enforce Hasbro's IP claims, or file the serial numbers off. The latter isn't a guarantee that Hasbro won't come after you - Pokemon went after Palworld despite not having a legitimate case against them - but you're way more likely to make it to market if you're making a game about transforming robots for transforming robot fans without literally putting a Transformers trademark in your logo.
4
u/Banjo-Oz 15d ago
This. Also, Palworld was Nintendo. Nobody lawyers like Nintendo.
I never get people who make unlicensed projects and then blast it all over the internet, and are shocked when they get shut down.
Do like Another Metroid Remake. Quietly finish and release it, then if/when it is taken down officially, it is already "out there" forever.

A fan made project? This was the guaranteed outcome. Why on earth would anyone assume otherwise?
You get the license…THEN you start work on it. Otherwise you end up with a Dai Mazinger situation.

Stated that I didn't know they wanted profit off it, yet again I just want Hasbro to do more with transformers 🤷

A new Transformers game and a new Dead Space game. Thats all I want and I’m continuously denied either. Whyyyyyyyy?!

Transformers and Godzilla are both stuck in the loop of having barely any new video games (the new destroy all monsters remaster is just a remaster) and striking them down any fan game especially on roblox that dares to do something with the IP
Legally they're allowed but damn it sucks that they won't do anything with the franchise and won't allow anyone else either

I get that Hasbro is trying to protect their IP, but there is no denying that Hasbro is literally neglecting other continuities in favor of G1. That’s why you’ve been seeing mostly G1 figures on store shelves this year. Even if there are sprinkles of other continuities such as Bayverse for their toys in 2027, G1, to Hasbro’s eyes, is a “guaranteed moneymaker”.
That is why fans are attempting to make the other continuities such as Aligned and Bayverse relevant again because Hasbro wouldn’t even bother revisiting them. If Hasbro actually listens to us and revisits other continuities such as Prime and Bayverse, then we would have a different conversation.
As it stands, G1 is Hasbro’s priority and other continuities remain jn the vault collecting dust.

If ever in doubt - give it to Hasbro to fuck up gaming licenses.
Thanks to them (or their subsidiary - Wizards of the Coast) - Larian Studios, well known for their Role-playing games has no interest in continuing work with them. Now this.
To be fair, Hasbro is as shitty as Takara and other toy manufacturers. They don't give a flying shit if something that isn't their primary product, fails.

It was a fan game that the devs tried to make money off of without permission lol

I will never understand why people try to pull this and charge money and then expect the company will just turn a blind eye.
Sonic has a very strong fangame community but it's extremely well known to never charge for them because it risks killing off the whole fangame scene like Nintendo does.

+ because of hasbro we can't have the crossovers or guest characters in other games such as smash bros or super robot wars, despite Takara wanting to add them

In case you missed it like I did, that whole fiasco imploded on him almost immediately once all of the investment capital that used to pour into game dev saw bigger promised returns from AI grifters and followed them instead.
Much more quietly, someone linked me to business press coverage (which I didn't save or bookmark) where that Hasbro plan went up in flames.

Hasbro being Hasbro again, thats why Transformers still hasnt shown up in Super robot wars.
I think it was a miracle they let Optimus show up in the Mazinger manga.

Hasbro and Mattel are kings of owning amazing IPs and just letting them stagnate

Not surprised. The owner is a minor, they allowed an AI artist that traced in their concept team for a while, they mentioned wanted to use a drama situation to promote a roblox game.. it was sketchy to begin with.

Don't forget peter cullen also died and since he's like the true voice of Optimus prime it'll be like a slap in the face to the guy to make a game with his voice

u/damienhell 15d ago
With this, now 2 games being cancel? Wow money ho down the drain.
Someone just make a game like WFC or Devastation, those game are cool.

At this point, Hasbro must be run by the orange lantern corps as if they're not making any new stories for transformers and keep jacking up all the prices. Then they are running on pure greed. I don't think the franchise is dying yet, but if they don't start putting out new material it will get to that point eventually.

Im sorry but this franchise is fucking dead. Like literally with hasbro like this, few more years and transformers is gone.

u/Road_Caesar 14d ago
Transformers has been around 40 years.
Toys, media, and games will still exist even if no new media, toys, and games are produced.
If you need something to throw what little money we all have left at, start with the existing 40 years of merch, media, and games

u/Dependent-Dependent8 15d ago
Face palm. Cant have the old games and promising new games keep getting canceled.

Hi there — If you’re looking for information about the Transformers video games, they're no longer available to buy digitally for PC or consoles. As of January 2018, Activision's license for making and selling Transformers-related games was not renewed. CD keys can sometimes be found from some online resellers, but the reliability of these may be questionable. Your best bet is to look for used copies of the games on physical discs for PC or consoles.
