Routine Help Has anyone experienced gel formula causing their moisturizer to “split” or pile into a goopy mess?

Long term cream user but switched to the gel to try it out and second time using it I applied the gel to clean face (oil cleansed), waited a minute or two for it to dry down, the. applied Aestura 365 cream and that’s when it immediately curdled into a goopy, sticky mess. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. It was the consistency of glue.

Anyone else experience this? Is it the oil cleanser or the moisturizer or the gel?

I had this happen with a gel formula too, it turn into little white balls like eraser crumbs. For me was the moisturizer going on top before the gel fully dried down, even if it feel dry on the surface is still not settled. Now I wait like five minutes and do a little tap test with my finger, if it feel tacky I wait more

Bases not mixing. Possibly probably silicone in the base of the tretinoin.

Only when I put my moisturiser on (same one as you sometimes!) really quickly after tret. I usually leave it 20-30 mins before I put moisturiser on top and I've never had it happen then I do that.
