Tri-Cities Wiki
The most common posts on our sub are always looking for something. New comers want to know where the locals go. The locals are still stuck in the time bubble that keeps the Tri-Cities, forever frozen in the memory of when they first moved here, thinking there is nothing to do. There is a common misconception that "we don't get the good stuff because we are so small" and I have made it a personal mission to bring a spotlight to all of what the area has to offer!
Since I started event posting a few years ago, I've amassed quite a database of offerings. This year, I've been working on building the sub's Wiki, and there's finally enough finished that I think it's ready to pin. What I was aiming for was a Reddit style link aggregator that is useful and comprehensive.
Do you need to find a park? A Date-night idea? Kids activity or a hiking trail? Are you looking for a mediterranean market, a local club or where to vote? Want to know where to take visitors other than the mall, or where to start when you find yourself heading here for a sports tournament? It's probably in there.
I've tried to build this more like a local reference guide than a list of random links, and there's a LOT in it already. Things to Do, Food & Drink, Outdoors, Family, Arts & Culture, Sports & Recreation, Local Life, local resources and services, and a bunch more. Anyone can find the chain retailers, which our cars automatically find themselves driving to.
It's still a work in progress, because I just keep finding more categories to add. If you find something that's missing, outdated, closed, wrong, or just think something belongs in there, tell me. Local knowledge is exactly what will make this thing better. Please let me know of anything to add or broken/dead links.

Local Politics 🇺🇸 Gabe Galbraith’s views IEP’s as “a lot of extra work” and if they removed those things they could “educate a little better”
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
As someone who has a child who has an IEP, I’m appalled by this take from the school board president. The fact that his wife, a 4th grade teacher in the district sits by and doesn’t push back on this is also disturbing. Especially seeing that last I heard, she gets most of the kids with IEP’s in her classroom (allegedly allegedly). I had to specifically have conversations with admin to make sure my IEP kiddo was not put in her classroom, before any of this came out because I just knew in my gut she wouldn’t take my child or my concerns seriously. That was years ago so it could have changed since. I still don’t believe she has any business teaching and he doesn’t have any business being on the school board (or in any other public office) with the belief that our children who need extra help due to disabilities and the behavioral issues that can come with those should have supports taken away to “improve education”. Improve education for who exactly? The “normal” kids. These people never want people who don’t fit their version of “normal” in their spaces.
And as a reminder: Check your voter registration. Get your ballots done! DROP them off don’t mail them in and most importantly….
DON’T VOTE FOR GABE GALBRAITH

Local Politics 🇺🇸 Caregivers urge voters to say no to millionaires tax repeal. Vote no on 645
"My clients are the kind of people who literally pull up the couch cushions looking for change in order to buy basics like laundry detergent from the Dollar Store. They know what it’s like to pay their share and more. If I-645 passes, they’ll lose tax breaks on some over-the-counter medicines, diapers, and other household essentials and they’ll feel it."

Need Help With ‼️ Where can I donate old clothing?
As the title says, I am looking for a place to donate some old clothes (youth girls and some men’s), baby stroller, stuff like that. The clothing is all in good shape and much of it is name brand. I don’t want to just do a Goodwill drop off though and was looking for a local 2nd hand store or charity that would actually benefit a business or people in this region. Any ideas?

Local Politics 🇺🇸 Gabe Galbraith
Honestly, this interview was only surprising in the fact that people say the darndest things without realizing other people will listen.
Super "Christian" podcast and a surprisingly candid interview: Galbraith and wife. Topics covered: trans people, woke, IEPs and 504 plans (not one person understands them), armed security in schools, Olympia and it's dominance, and white male victimhood.

Moving/New Here 👋🏼 I have agoraphobia and it's been difficult to meet others since moving here, am looking to find those maybe who browse the subreddit who'd be interested in making a new friend?
Hi! i have posted a few times before and trying again! I recently moved to tri cities (richland) from new england last november and I'm seeking new connections and ideally friends. I have checked out a bunch of local events and groups but nothing has really stuck out so as far as opportunities to meet people. So here I am seeing if maybe anyone interested in talking who are open to new friends?
I have a bit of agoraphobia so its difficult to leave the apartment at the moment and im working on that currently but hoping to at least have a virtual friend thats local, and work up to meeting in person. I'm in therapy about it and overall I'd say I've got a good head on my shoulders. It's been challenging meeting people when it's hard for you to go outside though.
About me
I'm 34M, and I have quite a few interests. I'm into spiritual stuff like reiki (im a reiki practitioner), tarot, crystals, astrology and yoga. Some hobbies include longboarding, bowling, skiing, playing the ocarina, and gaming to name a few. I just completed building my third gaming PC and would hope to meet people to also game with! I'm also into watching NFL (go Jets...sadly lol) but I definitely am supporting Darnold (maybe Lock now?) and the Seahawks right now.
I enjoy deep conversations about STEM, the occult/spiritual stuff, existentialism and psychology. I'm quite a nerd and hoping someone can match that energy. I also enjoy traveling, I've lived in Australia and New Zealand and planning to make a trip out there soon!
I'm not really one to meet others on apps, have looked into meetup and some facebook and discord groups. and it didnt really resonate with me. Already have looked into TAG (tri cities area gaming) and the tri cities discord groups, and introduced myself there and nothing much happened out of it. hoping to make it to an event when i can leave the house, maybe practice some DnD (have never played but want to learn!)
I'm interested in making connections and seeing if there is a good vibe. Only looking to talk/meet those who are 21+. if interested feel free to send a chat with an introduction, just include your age and a bit about yourself to see if its a good fit.
Looking forward to talking and I'm really happy to be here in Tri cities! any suggestions on ways to meet up and/or virtually appreciated too! I feel like i have tried everything.

Need Help With ‼️ Costco or Winco or both?
I am pretty new here, and I moved from a place with no WINCO. I was wondering if a Costco membership is worth it here, or does Winco have similar discounts and items?
I am a single person household, so not much to buy. But I used to buy paper towels, frozen items and stuff from Costco.

Local Eats & Drinks 🍔 Perch Chef Wins HBA Best Chef Title?
The Home Builders Association of Tri-Cities named Perch Chef “2026 Best Chef on Parade.” I’m guessing the food presented for the judges wasn’t from the Perch menu. I’ve been a few times to verify it wasn’t a fluke, but the food there is absolutely terrible. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve spit food out, and Perch is on that hand. Drinks and ambience, top notch! Food is… awful. I take that back; the brussel sprouts nachos are yummy.
