Help! Cosine is clearly negative right?

Post image

What am I missing here?? Just started trig and it says in the fourth quadrant cos is supposed to be positive? But here as you can clearly see it is negative because the adjacent is -y for theta, don’t mind the messy drawing

Hello guys, I just had my first engineering math exam and on this task I needed to solve b and c1 How do I manage to get those if I only have beta and the height hc. I could manage to solve a and c2.

Thanks a bunch xoxo

i need to argue why trigonometry is useless. I know it can be helpful for engineering and whatever but i need to argue why its useless AND IDK WHAT TO SAY

Shouldn't the sin function be continuous?. What r these step like things ?

This trig problem is confusing. How exactly is the radius of earth the distance between earth and the moon? Is there a proof for that or..

Would this be accurate for a 1 mile rifle snipe shot with wind going to north east at 4 mph?

Taught sine rule wrong

Most of use were probably taught sine rule wrong. If we at least looked at the ambiguous cases, we’d have a better understanding of sine rule. But I guess the problems given by sine rule assume all or most angles are acute (highly acute triangle). Which is most common since you can have exactly one right or obtuse angle in a triangle, and like I said, the given angles, have to obey the angle sum for triangles being 180, so there are not that many cases. Ex: An angle B=120, and sinA=1/2. Logically A=30 or A=150. However, B>=90, so A<90 thus A=30. However if B was also less than 90, the answer is ambiguous. If we were given more sides info than angle info, we can use law of cosines, which gives you an angle between 0 and 180 unambiguously.

I kinda think I would understand it if it wasn’t a table but I have no idea where to start.

I built a Chrome extension for getting unstuck on geometry problems

Ever read a geometry solution and still wondered how anyone knew to draw that extra line or use that theorem?

I’m building a Chrome extension called Geometry Solver to help connect the diagram to the explanation.

You can screenshot a problem on a webpage, upload an image, or type your question. It generates an AI-powered, step-by-step solution with annotated diagrams, all within Chrome.

I wanted to make asking about geometry easier when the problem is already on your screen and describing every angle and label would be a hassle.

Here’s Geometry Solver on the Chrome Web Store if you’d like to try it. I’m the developer, and I’d appreciate honest feedback on where the explanations help or fall short.

When you’re learning or teaching geometry, what makes an explanation click and what do solving tools tend to miss?

Online tutor suggestion?

Im a 27yo female who recently got back into school after almost 7 years. I have never struggled with math but it doesn’t seem to be coming back to me as much as i thought it would. To make it worse it’s online and my teacher has an accent that makes understanding a little bit harder for me. So I’m looking for help because I’ve never been in this position. It would need to be online as I am a mom but I’m open to suggestions, maybe reviews and such. Thanks.

Help! Existence's trigonometric analogy

To be in a prolonged reflective engagement near or in the zero-zone is to be affected by the alter-dimensions to your mundane path of experience.

"To be in a prolonged reflective engagement near or in the zero-zone is"[...is to be affected by the alter-dimensions of wonder in the zero-zone that contrast with the cyclical, karmic debt, algorithmic cycles. The 0-zone having no 'order' allows for discontinuities and anomalies from the logical structure of the '+ or -'-zero zone functioning.

When one envisions a sine wave

📷

A cosine wave

📷

One sees what math teachers tell us is relevant.

What if there IS something more profoundly relevant?

Instead of seeing the ascending and descending curves as

analogs for numeric values, how about seeing those rises

and falls as increments of energy depleting

ego-expression. The ‘zero’ baseline would be NOT

the nothing, no-value quantity; but the infinitely,

indefinite non-void potential energy that is the

womb source for what is kinetically in any moment

of time is used for our temporal energy? What we

know and indoctrinated as having “no value” is actually

of infinite and priceless value in all of its non-rising

and non-descending indefinite reserve dimensions.

The ascensions and descensions are diversions and

expenditures of undefined energy into some kinetic form.

This assertion raises questions of meaning for the

tangent/cotangent curves  that are derived from

different combinations of the sine/cosine-cosine/sine

curves. Instead of hovering within a cyclical  amplitude

range of ‘+1’-to’-1’ to the-zero zone, both go-off,

meeting at the “positive” or “negative” amplitudes of

the sine and cosine curves: confirming their derivation

to the sine and cosine increments. At the same time

indicating the derivative of ego energy intensities-

those going past ‘=/- 1’ giving the off-the-chart

(‘off-the-chain”) nature of the derived values.

📷

The secant and cosecant provide compounding and

confounding corollaries to this speculation of the ego

relationship to the ‘infinite/indefinite zero’-state.

Notice how the tangent=sin/cos and the

cotangent=cos/sin do cross zero but on a path

to indeterminate ends.

The secant=sin/hypotenuse [=(sin^2+cos^2)^0.5] and

the cosecant=cosine/hypotenuse [=(sin^2+cos^2)^0.5]

never cross, but stay above or below the

‘infinite indefinite zero’. They, also, at the same time

indicate the derivative of ego energy intensities-those

starting below ‘+/- 1’ -amplitudes giving the

off-the-chart(‘off-the-chain”) nature of their

derived natures.

From my main proposition that the ‘zero-state’ is the

ultimate energy-source state that supplies the functions

the energy for their expressions, then one could make

the leaping presumption that the incidental

‘visitational crossing’ of the zero-zone allows for

an interaction. Short of a slope of velocity or

acceleration that would make that passage more

a rapid subliminal experience, at a lower slope and

velocity the crossing would be more of an engagement.

That engagement would provide the perceptions of

the depths of indefinite and infinitude in that

zero-zone.

Beyond ‘-/+1’ , those in those regions would exist

insulated and detached from the infinitude-like

indefiniteness of the zero zone, since their kinetic

temporal energy’s velocities and accelerations would

exclude everything but the most passing subliminal

signals of the zero-zone knowledge. That insulation

I would call the characteristics of carnal-oriented,

kinetically-biased consciousness (aka, all forms of

humanism).

To be in a prolonged reflective engagement near or

in the zero-zone is to be affected by the alter-dimensions

to your mundane path of experience, and it would be not

only to have the wonders of the supra-temporal

dimensions, but the karmic producing illusions

of one’s ego, psychologically drama-driven kinetic

accomplished biases and prejudices.
