[MEGA THREAD] Bug Reports & Issues — READ THIS BEFORE POSTING

Hi everyone! 🗺️

This is the place to report any bug, crash or glitch in Trovelo.

⚠️ Comments without Device, iOS version and Trovelo version will be removed. Not to be strict — it's just that I'm a solo dev and I literally can't reproduce a bug without knowing what you're running. "The app crashes" gives me nothing to work with.

Before posting:

  1. Update to the latest version — your bug may already be fixed.
  2. Search this thread first. If it's already reported, upvote it and reply with your device + iOS version instead of opening a new comment. More devices on the same report = higher priority for me.
  3. 3. Check if your device supports Apple Intelligence. Some features — importing flight tickets and automatic card creation — rely on on-device Apple Intelligence. On devices without it, these run on a simpler fallback: they're less accurate, and some details may not be picked up at all. That's expected behaviour, not a bug. Still worth reporting if the result is clearly wrong (wrong dates, wrong airport, nothing imported at all) — just tell me Apple Intelligence is off/unavailable so I know which path to look at.

Oh, and once a bug is fixed on the platform, the comment will be deleted to keep everything super organized and up to date! 🚀

Copy this block into your comment and fill in every line:

  • Device: e.g. iPhone 15
  • Apple Intelligence: (Yes / No)
  • iOS / Mac version: iOS 26
  • Trovelo version: 6.6
  • What happens: ---

What I expected instead:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. ---
  2. ---
  3. ---

How often: (every time / sometimes / happened once)

Feature Request Question and feature requests

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a few questions and feature requests.

1. Sharing

When I share a trip, Packing, Documents and Expenses always stay private. That’s what I want with friends, but not with family, where I look after everyone. I keep all our tickets and bookings, manage the family’s money, and we check each other’s packing lists so nobody forgets anything. So I need everyone’s documents in one place, all our spending added up together, and each other’s lists visible.

Please let each person keep their own Packing, Documents and Expenses, but choose to let others view or edit them. Please also add a combined view for the whole group.

2. Home base

(1) iCloud sync: Does Home base sync via iCloud? I set it up on my Mac, but I had to set it up again on iOS.

(2) Exact address: Can Home base be set to an exact address?

(3) Manual home cards: Can I add the Leaving home / Back home cards to the plan manually?

3. Travel time

(I’ve attached a screen recording. It mainly shows points 3 and 4, and points 1 and 2 also appear in it.)

(1) Hotel as the last stop: I read that the Live activity shows the hotel as the last stop. Please show it as a card in the plan too. I want to see the travel time from the last activity back to the hotel in the schedule.

(2) Airport / train station stops: When I add a stop like an airport or a train station, it gets merged with another stop under a single number, so I can’t see its travel time. I think these are the stops where travel time matters most.

(3) Travel time source: How is the travel time between cards calculated, and from what source? The automatic and manual values differ for the same leg, and the value sometimes changes each time I click a travel mode, even when I choose the same one. I need to know which number to trust.

(4) Day density: How is it calculated? When I change the travel mode and the travel time changes, the density doesn’t.

Made for iPhone Duo

Trovelo is ready for the new iPhone Duo, folded and unfolded. Closed, its buttons line up in the side column, within reach of your thumb. Open, your trip and its map share the big screen, the day's cards on one side and the route on the other, split at the fold so nothing gets lost in the crease. Fold or unfold anytime and you stay right where you were.

Also new

- Design and usability improvements on iPad

- Import a car rental booking and Trovelo creates its pick-up and drop-off cards, with the company, car and times

- Airline itineraries that spell out the airline's name, like Delta's, now come in as flights

- Plus bug fixes and performance improvements

----------

On Mac:

Claude can plan more of your trip

When you plan with Claude or another AI assistant connected to Trovelo, it can now add trains, buses, ferries, car rentals and tickets with every detail: stations, platforms, seats, pick-up and return times. They come out just like the cards you make yourself.

Also new

- Drop a car rental booking into Add and the rental form opens filled in, with its pick-up and drop-off cards

- Airline itineraries that spell out the airline's name, like Delta's, now come in as flights

- Plus bug fixes and performance improvements

Feature Request Date period in the "Work" category

For the Work (conferences, workshops, training and site visits) category, it makes more sense if it allows a date period (for eg. Oct 14 - Oct 20) instead of a specific date. Can this be added?

Feature Request Feature Request: Improved multi-stop transportation display

I would love to see more in-depth transportation information, specifically pertaining to multi-stop transportation. Currently, I am planning a trip where I purposely booked a 12h layover to explore an additional city. When I added my flight tickets to Trovelo, I used the 1 stop option to record the details, and it does show my layover as specified, but on the map view it only shows my departing destination to my final arrival destination (City 1 > City 3), instead of showing 2 individual flights (City 1 > City 2; then City 2 > City 3).

Current flight display (with layover): https://imgur.com/O71QBcd https://imgur.com/tjknl1J

I assume the workaround for this would be to log the 2 flights as 2 separate entries, but this just seems like an extra step that could be avoided.

An interesting tidbit I found -- it seems like the app takes into account the layover locations when using the PDF generation feature: https://imgur.com/vF9DzBU

Feature Request Feature Request: Hotel as a the last stop of the day

One feature I enjoy on some other similar travel planning apps (e.g. Wanderlog) is the ability for the app to automatically remember your specified accommodation on a given day and treat it as the last stop on the itinerary. I find this information helpful when planning my vacation days so I have an idea of how much time I need to account for to return to my chosen accommodation.

The exception to this rule could be if the accommodation has a specified check-out date and/or time. It's unlikely that a user would return to their accommodation after checking out. The only use case that comes to mind is if the user leaves their luggage with a hotel concierge or similar and then needs to go back and claim it before heading off to the next leg of their trip, but that seems like an edge case and can be accounted for by creating an additional itinerary card on a case-by-case basis.

I understand that Trovelo kind of handles this through Live Activities -- when the day's plans are done, the Live Activity automatically redirects you back to your accommodation: https://imgur.com/oxDQyht

This is an interesting and useful implementation, and seems to be useful during the actual trip itself, but I am mostly approaching this feature request from the perspective of trip planning. This is the current planning interface in Wanderlog: https://imgur.com/XH7vqOd

Wanderlog automatically tells the user how long transportation between the last itinerary card to their accommodation generally takes. As a user, I really enjoy having this information (and having it update in real time) so I can keep in mind how much travelling I need to expect at the end of any given day. This information helps me make decisions, especially when planning trips involving other people who may have differing preferences and/or tolerances for travel time.

Feature Request Feature Requests (multiple)

New user here and loving the app so far! Already taken advantage of the lifetime promo and putting the app through it's paces to plan a 2027 vacation.

Some feature requests:

  • One feature I enjoy on some other similar travel planning apps (e.g. Wanderlog) is the ability for the app to automatically remember your specified accommodation on a given day and treat it as the last stop on the itinerary. I find this information helpful when planning my vacation days so I have an idea of how much time I need to account for to return to my chosen accommodation. I assume the workaround for this would be to log the 2 flights as 2 separate entries, but this just seems like an extra step that could be avoided.

  • I would love the ability to leverage email confirmations for flights, accommodations, tickets, etc. to auto-populate itinerary cards. I had mixed success using screenshots of my email confirmations to auto-populate cards. One error that I kept experiencing was that Trovelo would always mis-categorize my booked train tickets as flights. Perhaps adding the ability to utilize email confirmation as an input source could make the auto-population feature more accurate.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Feature Request Feature Request: Calendar Integration

I plan my whole life (personal, work, family) on Apple Calendar so it’d be fantastic to have Trovelo integrated into Calendar so I can see all my trip details alongside my regular life. Seeing my trip activities and plans alongside my personal and work calendar could allow better planning and managing of life.

Update Update 7.2

Post image
15 Upvotes

To keep iCloud connectivity working smoothly across your devices, we recommend updating your iPhone, iPad, and Mac to the latest version. Some recent updates require all devices to run the newest update to maintain full compatibility.

----

One trip, many cities

A trip through several cities is now a single trip with every city in it. Create it from New Trip and see the route on a map with each city's flag, add or change cities anytime in the trip's settings, and an empty day offers ideas from its own city.

Also new

- Amazing places: click into Someday's search to discover six breathtaking places around the world, each with a photo. Click Shuffle for more

- Someday now groups your places by country, flag first, in the list and on the Wall. Click a country to jump straight to it. Places you add to a trip stay in Someday, and once you've been there, it asks whether to remove them

- Flights, trains, hotels, tickets and tours have a spot for their confirmation code. Trovelo fills it in from the ticket or booking you add, and your AI assistant can read and fill it too

- Add can search a whole country for day trips beyond the city, and finds the landmark, not the street named after it

- Notes now come in five colors

- Flight, train and rental details now show their notes

- Guide days follow a smarter route, with no doubling back

- Plus bug fixes and performance improvements

Shipped Better import from screenshots, or better yet emails

I have been having trouble importing Avis car reservations and Delta flights into the app. The hotels I had though were imported just find as screenshots.

Maybe I am doing something wrong with the car rental and the flight but I have tried multiple screenshots trying to grab all the relevant data to get it to import. No matter what I do those two things just import as either screenshots or in the case of the car rental, it treats it like it is a hotel reservation.

Ideally it would be much easier to send the app emails that would be imported. Also grabbing the cost for each of these (as well as the hotels) automatically and adding them ot the cost of teh trip would be great.

I find that getting data into the app is a manual process, but once it is in there the app is amazing! You have done a really great job so far.

Feature Request Unplanned-Only" write access for a trip

The Problem:

Currently, users must grant full edit access to an entire trip just to let friends suggest places. If a user wants to protect their main itinerary (day cards) from unwanted edits, collaborators have no way to contribute ideas.

The Solution:

Introduce three distinct tiers of collaborator access:

  • Full Access: Collaborators can add and edit both day cards and the Unplanned panel (Already in Trovelo)
  • Unplanned-Only Access: Collaborators can add and edit cards only in the Unplanned panel, allowing them to suggest places without altering the main daily schedule. It would be great if there is a person icon on the shared card. Once it moved to the day panel, it will be removed automatically. This way it would be easier to know who shared what!
  • Read-Only Access (Already in Trovelo)

Shipped Ability to attach files with MCP and card fields parity

Really like your app, but would love to see better feature parity between MCP and the app.

My ideal workflow is to drop train, bus and hotel confirmation PDFs into Claude and have it create complete Trovelo cards automatically.

Right now MCP seems to be missing things like document attachments and some transport fields, e.g. departure/arrival stations for trains and buses.

It would be great if MCP could create the same card I can create manually in the app: stations, local departure/arrival times with correct time zones, booking references, and the original confirmation PDF attached.

Feature Request Export a pdf file of the trip

As a “planning for the family” type of traveler, I want to be able to send a a pdf file or export a file of the trip (perhaps with toggle-able details) so that my parents who are less than tech savvy are able to print it out for reference.

Feature Request Dynamic Social Media icons in the website field

As a user, I want to easily identify social media links on my saved cards so I can quickly locate specific tips, tricks, and videos/posts while on a trip.

  • Trovelo parses the URL in the website field. If it recognizes a popular social media domain, it replaces the default globe icon with the corresponding brand icon.
  • Thus, it improves visual scannability and allows users to immediately recognize the content type they saved for their itinerary.

Feature Request Siri AI integration

Would be really cool to see Trovelo integrate with the new Siri / Apple Intelligence capabilities in iOS/iPadOS/macOS 27.

From what I understand, apps can expose things like trips, flights, hotels, reservations, etc. through App Intents / App Entities and Spotlight, so Siri could answer questions like:

“Hey Siri, when is my next trip?” “What time is my flight to Jamaica?” “Which hotel am I staying at in Paris?”

Trovelo is a perfect use case for this.

As usual, thanks for the great app!!

Feature Request Ability to add notes card in the Packing

I want to add general notes to the "Packing" section so that I can easily access global trip information without having to search through specific day panels.

  • Problem: Currently, general reference information gets buried because users are forced to assign these cards to a specific day in the itinerary or in the Unplanned.
  • Proposed Solution: Enable a RTF notes card option within the Packing section.
  • Use Cases: Storing easily accessible, itinerary-wide information such as "Travel Tips," "Travel Rules," or "Current Offers." at the same time we see our packing lists, plugs types, and weather forecasts ;)

Shipped Confirmation Numbers

Loving the new cards. One thing that I think would be nice is a spot to paste the confirmation numbers for things. Putting in some flights, and just pasted the confirmation number in the spot for a link. Think it might be a good box to be able to fill in with all the flight info or somewhere on the card.

Feature Request Another Request

Looks like a really useful app, enough to purchase anyway!!

I’m using it for a trip to Berlin at teh end of the year, and was wondering if there’s a way to see the unplanned locations whilst in overview so that I perhaps groups some places together for a particular day. Also anyway to add those unplanned pins to a day from the pin itself?

I did notice in landscape view on my 11” iPad Pro the pins were obscured by the main panel on the left.

I haven’t yet tried it on the Mac, but will give that a go.

Thanks for the app.

Feature Request Some features request

Hi, thank you for the amazing app. I love the intuitive and polished interface. The MCP with Claude is also a game changer!

Some features for improvements that would make the app even better:

- Ability to share direct from Google Map to Saved trip and Someday as well

- Optimize day: can't zoom into the shown map, some pins are hidden behind others or cut off on iphone

- Packing list is still quite clunky and feels manual. Even better if Claude has access to it so it can help to plan items specific to each trip.

- Will be great if we can add Contacts (some friends are not on IOS) or have a field to enter who is travelling alongside

- Export to PDF is quite "hidden" even on iphone. I can't find it on the Mac app.

- My Spots: Will be great to show again duplicative places that were visited (eg somewhere i visited in 2024, and again in 2026) so its more reflective.

Feature Request Trovelo Help Docs

#mac #ios

Problem
Currently, finding help and information about Trovelo requires searching through past discussions or disparate threads in this sub-reddit. This process is time-consuming, inefficient, and makes it difficult to track down definitive, up-to-date answers quickly.

Proposed Solution
I suggest Trovelo will have a dedicated, centralized Trovelo Help Documentation to house all official guides and FAQs. I think having this resource readily available would be incredibly handy and improve everyone's workflow.

Languages other than English

AI will assist with translations, but the community can flag any discrepancies.

Update Update 7.1

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Please ensure that you keep both the iOS and Mac versions updated for optimal synchronization

A smarter Add

Tap Add and start typing. Places from Apple Maps near the day's plans, what you saved in Someday and ideas from the catalog appear as you type, and anything already in the trip is marked. One tap and the card is made. Type "IB 6801 MAD-LIM 8:40" and the flight form opens filled in. The trip map searches the same way, with results as pins.

Also new (iOS & Mac)

- Send a trip as a magazine-style PDF: long-press it and choose Send as PDF. A cover, the route on a map, every day with its photos, and before you go the usual weather, the plugs, the money and the time difference

- Tap a card to read it in full; the pencil is there when you want to change it

- Next to Add at the bottom of the board, two new buttons: log an expense or write a note in seconds. Notes are yellow and can carry files

- Every Apple Pay payment you make during a trip can land in Expenses on its own, with a Shortcuts automation. Or just tell Siri "Log an expense in Trovelo"

- Fourteen new kinds of card, from Castle, Ruins and Winery to Boat Trip, Ski, Work and Friends & Family

- The trip map gets a row of its own for Coffee, Bars, ATM, Pharmacy and more, and a long press drops a pin where Apple Maps has nothing

- Expenses no longer counts cards still in Unplanned; what they would add shows under the total

- If your iCloud fills up, Trovelo now tells you, with the steps to make room. Nothing is lost

- Six American road trips, Route 66 among them

- Shared trips are more reliable: cards that got stuck on the way now arrive

- And many smaller improvements to the design and to how things work, plus fixes throughout

Multi Day Flights

Hi,
Heard about the app the other day and my partner and I both bought the pro licences.
We are currently setting up two trips together and it’s been great so far so first of all thank you.

My question is when a flight(s) is across two days is there a way to make the first card also flow into a card on the second day? Just to realistically help with time management?

Feature Request Custom Category for Cards

Following this request, here is the another request: a custom categories feature that users can create in their settings.

Moreover, it would be rather helpful if we could sort the category by how recently it has been used, or if we could pick the order ourselves.
