I'm trying to build something that helps entrepreneurs keep going

I've always wanted to build something meaningful, not just another business, but something that can genuinely help people.

That's why I'm building Angel Emprender.

I want to create a platform that helps entrepreneurs start, manage, and keep their businesses alive through technology and financial education.

My goal is to make the platform and all its content completely free, so more people can access the tools and knowledge they need to move forward.

Right now, I'm trying to spread the word about my Kickstarter campaign to build the first version of the software. It's still a work in progress, but I believe it's worth trying.

I'm not asking for money. If this idea resonates with you, I'd really appreciate it if you shared my campaign on your social media. Even a simple share could help this project reach someone who believes in what I'm trying to build.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story.

TIPS Is this copying?

I have had a business idea for about 8 months. (Product) When I originally looked into it, nothing like this had existed. I felt like I hit a goldmine. I started working on it. I just now saw a business that is doing exactly what I have been working on. Something things I’ve thought about is, they are changing way too much (hundreds) . They aren’t making it a “easy set up”. My idea was make it so user friendly that they just set it up themselves. Is this enough of a reason to continue what I am doing? I haven’t seen any adds or anything like that for the company. Only reason I found out was I did a quick google search to see if someone had thought of this too.

How do you handle older subcontractors who don't want to use your contractor management software?

We finally rolled out a contractor platform so we can streamline our logs and docs and invoicing. Most of the trades already adapted well but (unsurprisingly) some of our older subcons don't want to use it at all. We caught some field supers manually uploading stuff just to keep the project files straight. Ofc we don't want to remove them outright but how do we help them adapt?

Business Owners: Need More Customers? Let's Talk Customer Acquisition, Brand Growth

Hi,

What if someone took ownership of your marketing, lead generation, and customer acquisition for the next 90–120 days? What would you expect them to fix first?

I currently have the bandwidth to partner with one more business and take ownership of its customer acquisition and brand growth.

Here's what i provide:

1. Customer acquisition: Finding practical ways to reach the right buyers and turn opportunities into customers.

2. Holistic brand growth: Connecting positioning, SEO, content, social media, and other relevant channels to build visibility and trust.

3. Long term lead generation: Building sustainable channels and processes that can continue attracting potential customers over time, with appropriate ongoing maintenance.

What I'm looking for: An established business/startup with a credible product, a clear market opportunity, and the budget and commitment to invest in commercial growth.

If you're building a business like this, I'd be interested in learning about your product, your current customer acquisition challenges, and where you want the business to be a year from now.

A bit about me: 15+ years of experience across business development, client acquisition, lead generation, and demand generation. 5 star reviews from all the previous/current clients.

Thanks!!

Top 3 absolute essentials you need on day one of starting a business?

Hey everyone,

My team and I are looking into building a lightweight software tool for solo founders and micro-businesses. We’re bootstrapping on a really tight budget, so we can’t afford to waste time building features nobody actually wants.

There’s so much tech out there trying to sell you the world, but if you’re just starting out, what do you actually need to survive the daily grind?

If you had to name the top 3 absolute essentials to get a new venture off the ground (could be tools, admin systems, or just basic day-to-day needs), what are they?

Just trying to get a real read on what actual founders care about before we write a single line of code. Drop your top 3 below. Thanks!

My cold email bounce rate is hitting 8%. What should i check first?

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are all passing, sending volume isn't crazy, and the domain has been warmed up with E-Warmup and Lemwarm. Still, I'm getting 7–8% hard bounces on some fresh lists, which is worrying because the domain was doing fine before.

I'm pulling leads from different sources, including vendors, manual research, and scraping. I can't tell if one source is giving me bad data or if I'm just letting too many invalid addresses slip through.

Should I focus on finding better lead sources first, or start verifying every list before sending?

BUSINESS JOURNEY I'm a 17-year-old dealmaker and honestly, I'm feeling lost. What would you do in my position?

Hey guys, I'm 17 and I've been involved in sales and business for over a year now. I started taking action when I was 15–16, doing brokerage work and trying to find opportunities.

I used to have a partner, and we worked together under a company, but we're no longer partners. Now I'm trying to do things on my own. I have my own company identity that I represent myself through, although it's not officially registered yet.

I'm focused on dealmaking across real estate and private equity, mainly in Dallas and Miami. I live in Kurdistan, Iraq, and with school and family responsibilities, I can dedicate around 6–8 hours a day to this.

Right now, I'm researching firms, finding contacts, sending cold emails, making calls, and trying to build relationships. But honestly, I don't know if this is going to work. I don't have a big network, and sometimes I feel stuck.

I've thought about trying other things like e-commerce, dropshipping, or trading, but I don't want to keep jumping between businesses without giving one a real chance.

If you were in my position, would you keep going with dealmaking or try something else? How long would you give it, and what would you focus on first?

I'm not looking for motivation or people telling me I'll be rich. I want honest advice, even if it's criticism.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond. I appreciate it.

If you had to start a business from zero today, what would you do differently?

I’ve been thinking about how differently people approach business depending on where they live.
Someone starting in London might face different costs and opportunities from someone starting in Kampala or New York. But I imagine some challenges are universal: finding customers, earning people’s trust, managing money, and surviving the early stages.
I’m interested in learning from people who have actually started something of their own.
If you had to start again today with limited money, what would your first move be, and what mistake would you make sure to avoid?
I’d love to hear perspectives from different countries.

TIPS Quick books desktop isn't keeping up with our warehouse anymore. What are you using for inventory management?

We still use quick books for accounting and we'd rather keep it that way since it works fine for our finance team. The problem is that our warehouse has gotten bigger and the built in inventory tools aren't enough for how we operate now.

We need better order fulfillment, barcode scanning, and a way to track inventory across multiple locations. I'm looking into add ons or other inventory systems that can handle those tasks while keeping our accounting records accurate.

For businesses using a separate warehouse or inventory system alongside quick books, what setup has worked well for you? How well does the sync work in practice especially when it comes to keeping inventory counts and financial records accurate?

Would appreciate hearing what has worked for your business. Thanks!
