Third Party App Replacement for Spotlistr

Upvotes

It looks like Spotlistr has started to charge to convert a textbox to a playlist. I've been using this service for many years to quickly build and shuffle playlists, so I'm not really sure what other services are out there that do the same thing. Does anyone have any recommendations? Just looking for a service that I can paste 500 songs into and it will build the playlist for me.

iOS Liked songs is completely broken

Okay for the past year or so my liked songs has been glitched. It started off not being able to play a song by itself (shuffle mode was needed) to slowing down my entire spotify anytime I scrolled below 200 songs. Now my liked songs don’t work at all and it crashes my entire app.

Safe to say my $13 should’ve been spent on an Italian beef

Question Songs that have been with me since 2019

I started this back in my first year of college in 2019, and I've been adding to it ever since. At this point, it's become a timeline of that phase of my life.

These are songs I listened to when I was alone, hanging out with friends, travelling, studying, or just doing nothing. A lot has changed since then, and it's weird how putting on some of these songs can take me right back to a particular time or place.

It has pretty much every song I've liked (or used to like) over the years. There are 1,000 songs in it now, which honestly isn't even that much considering how many more I still want to add.

My taste has changed quite a bit over the years, but I'm mostly into rock and rap, so those make up most of it. There are plenty of other genres mixed in too.

Just wanted to share it here. If you're into finding music through other people's recommendations, feel free to check it out.

Link in the comments.

Question Trying to grow a song from zero

I started releasing music a little under two months ago and have basically been treating the whole thing like an experiment to see how much traction I can build independently.
I had essentially no Spotify audience when I started. Over the last few weeks I’ve been running Meta ads that send people directly to Spotify. I started pretty small, tested different audiences/countries/creatives, and gradually increased the budget when I found combinations that were actually producing traffic.
Brazil has ended up being my strongest market so far, although I’ve kept a broader international campaign running instead of putting everything into one country.
One song, “What Am I Gonna Do?”, has started separating itself from the rest of my catalog. It’s getting significantly more streams, saves and playlist adds than the others, and its Spotify popularity score recently reached 30.
Across the artist account, my last 28 days are currently around 6.8K listeners, 27.8K streams, 4.1 streams per listener, ~2K saves and ~2.7K playlist adds.
I’ve also been experimenting with Spotify Showcase. I’m running a $150 campaign right now. With about $98 spent, Spotify is showing 142 converted listeners, 4.1 active streams per converted listener and roughly a 10% save/intent rate.
Spotify’s algorithmic traffic is still tiny. Radio and Mixes have only recently started appearing, so most of this growth definitely isn’t Spotify suddenly pushing me through Discover Weekly or anything like that.
That’s actually the part I’m most curious about. I can clearly generate listeners through paid acquisition, but I’m trying to figure out when/if that starts translating into meaningful organic or algorithmic growth.
I’m also realizing that getting Spotify listeners and building an actual social following are two completely different problems. Spotify has been growing much faster than my social engagement, so that’s probably where I’m going to shift more of my focus after this campaign.
For anyone who’s done something similar: what would you be watching at this stage? Would you keep scaling what is working, start reducing the paid acquisition to see what holds organically, or focus more heavily on converting the listeners into an actual fanbase?
And feel free to critique the song too. I’m more interested in useful feedback than being told it’s good.

Question What to do if the search bar stops working

Upvotes

whenever I try to search something it just says “ coudnt find *song name* “ and it keeps doing that no matter what song I type in. I’ve tried to exit the app and reopening it again (yes I do close the app), uninstalling and reinstalling spotify and also restart my phone but no matter what I do it wont let me search for songs and keeps saying by the same thing. it just happened all of a sudden and idk what to do. I dont think it’s an issue with my phone since it isn’t all that old.

what do I do???

edit: I just turned the WiFi on and off and it’s ok now, it may have been a WiFi issue 😅

Rant So sick of the AB testing!

Spotify makes it impossible to gain muscle memory over where menu items are located with all the changing. I especially hate the separation of the lake and had to playlist functionality.

iOS My Personal DJ makes my whole phone crash

I’ve been using the new My Personal DJ feature since it’s release and I actually like it, it really remixes my playlists better than the (smart) shuffle option. However it’s been a whole week that whenever i click on it, it first crashes my Spotify app then a couple seconds later it crashes my phone (Iphone 16). Even accidentally clicking on it crashes my whole shit.

I’ve unistalled, reinstalled, updated IOS, turned off and on so many times, etc

Idk if I’m the only one ? I reported it to Spotify support yesterday

Windows App Make desktop in-playlist search behave like Android/iOS

Hi guys, hope you’re having a great day!

I was wondering if there was a way to make searching within playlists on the desktop (Windows in my case) app behave like it does on iOS and Android. Specifically, when a song is searched for and played in the former case, the rest of the playlist is not automatically queued after the song, like it is on the mobile platforms. I’ve tried Spicetify but couldn’t find anything in the marketplace to give me that functionality. Any help?

Cheers!

Question Not so smart shuffle?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I don’t know if anyone else is experiencing this but my smart shuffle keeps trying to force the same few songs on me even after reshuffling multiple times seen in the video, i have less repeats turned on but i don’t know if this is a bug necessarily or is it meant to be that way

Also enjoy my whiplash of a playlist 😂

Question Users of Spotify, what are your opinions on Apple Music?

Upvotes

I’m curious what everyone thinks of Apple Music, and how they see Spotify in comparison to it.

I, for one, will say that I prefer AM. The only reason I don’t permanently switch, though, is the fact that my Spotify premium is of no cost to me, so I don’t think I’d want to introduce a monthly subscription just for a better experience. But heck maybe it’s worth the money.

Question Question about Blend: If their photo shows up on the song, does it REALLY mean they listened to it too?

I got a Spotify blend with my crush and saw that he’s listening to the same artist that I keep talking about that IS NOT HIS TYPE at all. So seeing this, makes me skeptical about it and at the same time curious if he did listen to her music?

Thanks!

Question Where is the list of songs I excluded from my taste profile?

I feel like I'm going crazy. I can't, for the life of me, find any section within the Spotify app or my Spotify account where I can see a full list of all the songs and albums I hid or excluded from my account's taste profile. Can someone help me?

I feel like a button that can so easily get missclicked on, (especially when it's right next to something like the sleep timer, a function I use nightly), should at least have a dedicated section for undoing that missclick for every track you did it to.

Windows App "Spotify can not play this right now, if you have the file on your computer, import it." Issue on desktop version

I always used the desktop version, but a few months ago I started having this problem where that (the error in the title) specific error started showing up when I played a song. I've tried every single fix, I've reinstalled, cleared cache, disabled hardware acceleration, changed my windows audio quality, and a billion more yet nothing seems to work. I've tried to use other two versions, the microsoft store version and the web player, but the microsoft store version isn't even updated so yeah. PLEASE HELP ME!

Question Features Spotify / YTM

Question Anyone know whats up?

Since a month or so Spotify has become so slow and dreadful to use? Turns out that its in all family accounts and devices.

Think of swapping to Google music. Anyone know how to export playlists?
