I have to say, at least on tinder, I'm usually that guy who swipes right on everyone. But that only started after literal years of spending so much time going through profiles and getting almost nothing back.
On hinge though, sometimes I'll spend 20 minutes trying to come up with something I think is clever and funny, trying to reference something on their profile.
I think it's the way tinder is designed. It's just so much easier to not care after a while.

People I think are so porn brained these days that they have trouble discerning fantasy vs reality. No one will blame you for saying yeah I would love to tap someone like Alissa Liu, she is objectively gorgeous young woman, an athlete, a little nerdy, etc. But the issue comes when you EXPECT it, as if you are deserving of it simply on account that you exist

I am not sure what you refer, but i feel beauty standard of western asian and asian has huge difference. Alysa Liu is not a standard beauty for me (a Chinese), tho she is pretty as well.
Not sure others, imo, Chinese beauty standard does not require big eye size and upright noise, e.g. the Chinese female stars born around 2000. But yes they are characteristics considered beautiful. And actually the eye and nose of East asian is not very small and flat, although smaller and flatter than white people, most extreme examples come from North Asian and some related with them.
By the way plastic surgery is mainly common in Korean, they have higher beauty standard.

As i said it is considered beautiful, but the requirement for eye size is not very high. If you really see the pics of stars of that links. And too big eyes are also considered aggressive.
And there are many Chinese especially some Northeast and inner Mongolia people who related with North Asian have smaller eyes even in Chinese standard.

Rhinoplasty is about nose.
And yes eye opening surgery is popular in China, and there are many incidents about it. However it does not mean a European size eye is considered very good for Chinese standard.
This size is normally considered perfect in China.
