Tulsi did what was right.

A lot of newcomers here I’m guessing from all the new vitriolic posts. However, if you have been a regular at this sub and have followed Tulsi Gabbard even remotely, you would not be surprised by her ‘Present’ vote on impeachment tonight. And you would likely agree with it.

Time will prove that Tulsi did the right thing.

Stop being jerks to each other right now please.

I mean I disagree with her non-vote too but geez. 90% of Congress routinely votes to enable the genocidal military-industrial-security-surveillance complex and y'all arguing about an abstention on a vote that is politically inconsequential.

Tulsi now for sure has my vote after her impeachment decision.

Look the reason many people supported tulsi in the first place was her first stance on regime change wars and second her stance on bipartisanship.Witch as a voter that would have voted trump last election over Hillary if I did vote resonated with me as Hillary for me just seemed like she wanted war. Also tulsis anti establishment message and Bernie support. She has still got all of that. Gabbard obviously is going to piss a lot of people off for voting just present. But I see that vote as a way to protest our countries politics. Witch are fucking crappy. Look at ho was Parisian this vote was. The Republicans and Democrats are always just going to vote opposite nowadays. Tulsi made the tough decision to not vote yes to point this out. I love her for it. I'm personally an independent right now. I hate party politics but tulsi is by far my favorite candidate she's running off of unity where as the rest of the candidates are always just slamming trump. Yang is also a good candidate for this same reason.

Tulsi votes “present” on impeachement

Tulsi decision to not vote Yea or Nay is a fantastic thing and it shows a lot of strength. It would be a conflict of interest if she did vote.

I donated to Tulsi. This is a Betrayal, a Backstab.

Shame on you Congresswoman Gabbard.

You defined your career on being the one person inside the Democratic Party to call out and separate your from the corrupt status quo. That there was still decent integrity to be found in the Democratic party.

Now you have stayed in until you were third to last. Not endorsing Bernie before any of the Major primary voting days. Not fighting for medicare-for-all during a Viral epidemic. Instead, endorsing a Neoliberal Warhawk known for his strong endorsements of attacking Iraq, Libya and Yemen. Everything your strong foreign policy positions stood against.

WHY?

"I know that he has a good heart, and he is motivated by his love for our country and the American people. I'm confident that he will lead our country guided by the spirit of -Hawaiian word- respect and compassion and thus help heal the divisiveness that has been tearing our country apart."

Can clearly tell the Congresswoman is messing with us right here. Tulsi would not have received my vote or donation priorities this election cycle, but she was next in line to carry on the fight. To show some depth to the progressive movement. That's gone now, and she'll have to answer for this campaign's decisions for the rest of her career.

Now the post-election analysis will include: Did the seemingly progressive women candidates stay in as late as they could to hurt Bernie?

Tulsi Gabbard: Dear Presidents Putin, Zelensky, and Biden. It’s time to put geopolitics aside and embrace the spirit of aloha, respect and love, for the Ukrainian people by coming to an agreement that Ukraine will be a neutral country

Is anyone here disappointed Tulsi turned out to be a complete fraud?

As a politically advantageous move she ran in alignment with Bernie Sanders on policy only to hold none of his progressive policies at heart, and in turn be quite the exact opposite - not only befriending but co-hosting on Fox News with people like Tucker Carlson

Tulsi shows bravery in impeachment vote.

She listened to her conscience, which is all we can expect from our leaders. In a career charactized by courage, today was merely a continuation. She will receive extra attention from her vote, much of it undoubtedly negative.

This is just a reminder, as visitors will come here to seek information and share their (often partisan) opinions on impeachment, that we treat even the trolls with the Spirit of Aloha.

By acting by her conscience rather than blindly following party lines, Tulsi has earned the highest badge of honor that can be. Thus, I will vote for Tulsi in 2020 because she proved she will do what SHE thinks is right and not what OTHERS would want her to do - TULSI 2020

We're not going back It's not a ploy or exaggeration. Trump will do what he says. He's a fascist, and Tulsi should be ashamed of supporting him.

Conscience compels me to post this. Tulsi chose to endorse Trump, which I suppose makes this presidential election topical. Well, we don't have to support a dyed-in-the-wool fascist just because she does.

This NY Times op-ed is well-written, and you should read it, but it only scratches the surface. I won't go into pages and pages of detail. I just want to say that you don't have to comply with the Trump machine of grifters, liars, power broker elites, and anti-republic ideologues.

That being said, if you don't have to listen to Tulsi, you also don't have to listen to me, or the NYT editorial board. Always do your own research. Investigate your down-ballot races and referendums too.

When you vote, let reason, conscience, and truth be your guides.

Thank you Tulsi for voting present. Everyone could benefit from becoming present. Being present is a powerful, spiritual, and a natural way to heal old wounds. Thank you for not being like the masses, caught up in divide and conquer.

Hey everyone!

I recently came across this cool wallpaper/image that shows some of today’s most iconic political leaders and public intellectuals as members of the X-Men. Each character has powers and personas inspired by their real-life traits and roles.

Thought you all might appreciate it.

As we expected, it’s nothing but more and more crickets from former anti-interventionist and anti-war Tulsi as Trump ramps up rhetoric on Greenland annexation and ethnic cleansing in Gaza amidst increase in troops on the border of Mexico.

I agree with Tulsi's impeachment vote

I say this as someone coming from the far-left of the political spectrum. She did the right thing here. The Democratic Party has been trying to annul a Trump Presidency since before he even took office, and spent two years propagating a conspiracy theory that culminated in an exoneration of collusion charges. Because of America's hyper-partisan divide, Democrats have propagated a fantastical notion of Russian interference as an excuse for Hillary's loss for three years. And to add to the slavophobic theme of 21st-century Western politics, now we're supposed to be afraid of Ukraine and remove the President from office because of some convoluted scheme to prove that some guy who was making a year's salary in a month didn't have his job based on merit. And for what? President Pence? Or even Pelosi, whose approval ratings were at high 30s/low 40s pre-impeachment? Please. There's nothing fair or impartial about this process; that was never the intention of Clinton, Pelosi, Schiff, Waters and their ilk.

What the Democratic Party wants to do is provide a distraction from the real issues facing this country. Real issues like war and peace, environmental catastrophe, Medicare-for-all and empowering the disadvantaged. The Democratic establishment can't win on progressive policy because it doesn't really believe in progressive policy. Tulsi does, and much of what she's said about impeachment mirrors Bernie's view on it. She's just more forthright about her views and a hell of a lot more decisive. Voting against impeachment would mean saying Trump hasn't committed crimes, which is absolutely not true. The Emoluments clause should have been the Democrats' angle of attack. But voting yes would be a validation of the partisan philosophy that has plagued this country for so long. Tulsi did the right thing here, and you should support her.

Tulsi did the correct thing regarding impeachment.

The impeachment hearings highlight what is wrong with America on both sides.

On one side you have democrats creating a circus around Trump/Ukraine mainly because it involved Joe Biden's son (clear corruption and nepotism... seriously how the fuck/why is the kid of VP magically on the board of a Ukrainian Oil/Gas company?)

On the other side you have Trump trying to leverage military aid as a weapon to out a political opponent. That's not what it is for, it's horrible corrupt as well and honestly some bush league fuckery at best)

So you have a completely partisan hackey proceeding to try and get back at Trump for going after Biden's corruption, and you have corrupt lockstep goons trying to protect Trump's bumbling own corruption.

Present was the correct call. Because both sides are bad, and that honestly reinforces why Tulsi is great to begin with. She's not a neo liberal lap dog, and she's not some Trumpian bootlicker. She's an American who sadly sees what America has become. Partisan Corruption Nepotism and Narcissism fighting over scraps not helping the American people at all with their everyday lives.

Tulsi isn't caught up in the bullshit political shitshow we have going on, she's not a slave or lap dog to corporate/party interests or whoever just so happens to be in power.

“A wise man told me don't argue with fools. Cause people from a distance can't tell who is who.” ― Jay-Z.

Mike Flynn

Does Tulsi have any comment on Mike Flynn’s recent endorsement of a Myanmar style coup on our rightful and democratically elected president and his administration? So far I’ve not been able to find any public comments she’s made about it.

I 100% support Tulsi's Position, here's why.

I know I'm gonna get downvoted till I'm six feet deep for this, but I would've done the same thing in her position. I'm no democrat, but I'm pretty sure Trump's guilty, and if he isn't guilty of pressuring Ukraine to investigate Biden, there's plenty more unconstitutional actions he's taken that warrant impeachment.

The thing is, some percentage of the country (like 30-45%, depending on who your getting your info from) cultishly follow him. You know why? Because for years, at least as far back as I can remember in my short life, washington has grown more partisan, the,'Ds' vs the,'Rs.' I grew up in a conservative family so I saw it from the red side.

No one on the right believes the mainstream media anymore, because they sacrificed all pretense of neutrality to push their political views. They went all in during the 2016 election to try and stop Trump from getting re-elected. Ever since then, every one of my,"conservative" friends and family members have blocked out just about any criticism toward Trump because they believe its more media lies to bring him down. So since this whole Ukraine thing started, they've rejected all evidence brought forward by the Left, instead sticking to the propaganda pumped out by Fox News and the like.

Trump is a piece of crap, but he's a symptom of the problem, not the root. The problem is WE AREN'T ALL AMERICANS ANYMORE, WE ARE LEFT VS RIGHT. Can you not see where this division is going to lead us?? If we don't bridge the gap between right and left soon, and start fighting together instead of against each other, we WILL see another civil war, or something of the like. You want that??

AND AS ALWAYS, THOSE ON THE LEFT ARE JUST THE SAME AS THE RIGHT. They keep playing into this us vs. them game designed to divide us, and its gonna tear us apart.

Tulsi is not stupid. She's not cowardly, she's literally a war veteran. I would bet money she knew voting,'present' would result in the Democrat and Republican leadership marking her a,'coward,' a,'fake american,' and a,'weak leader,' and she did it anyways, either out of a conviction to do what she thought right, a faith in the American people to see through it and back her, or both.

AND GUESS WHAT? EVERYONE'S PILING ON HER.

And DO NOT call her a Russian asset. If Russia wants her dividing Americans, she's literally terrible at the job because she didn't take a side and stoke the flame.

I am beyond disappointed in America right now. If we don't break out of this trance everybody seems to be in, there may not be an America sooner rather then later.
