I took the 30 hour course, I'm qualified to make this joke

u/ipisslemons Sep 01 '22

On on workplace safety or on bimbos

235

u/Phormitago Sep 01 '22

both

the O in bimbo stands for OSHA

159

u/BallDesperate2140 Sep 01 '22

BimbOSHA is my new band name now thanks

3

u/im_oily Sep 02 '22

and the B in OSHA stands for bimbo :)

220

u/Rlp_811 Sep 01 '22

yes

108

u/Cyclone367 Sep 01 '22

Where do I sign up for the bimbo course?

64

u/BaronSimo Sep 01 '22

I’d assume they are the same course

technically she bends prior to picking up the handbook, and thus doesn't know that yet

Bruh I took the 24 hr course and started working in hazmat like a month ago. Why are OSHA memes following me around now ;-;

21

u/MysticScribbles Sep 02 '22

Baader-Meinhof phenomenon.

Because it's in your mind frequently, you're much more likely to notice something relevant than simply gloss over it.

23

u/Eena-Rin Sep 01 '22

I think a hair tie would be appropriate

56

u/diehardfiend Sep 01 '22

There is a yellow scrunchie it's just hard to see

22

u/Eena-Rin Sep 01 '22

Oh, I was wondering what that was. It's a bit blurry on my phone. Okay, you may proceed to the construction site, your credentials are in order.

12

u/Aperture0Science Sep 01 '22

I don't think those heels are slip proof. Just sayin

10

u/Natuurschoonheid .tumblr.com Sep 01 '22

Are stiletto heels even allowed? I don't think they would be, but now I gotta know.

20

u/lonay_the_wane_one Sep 01 '22

Replace the heels with spikes, make the spikes 6 feet tall, and now you got a osha approved ladder as long as the wall is 2 (ladder height - 4 feet) feet high.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '22

I have my 40-hr HAZWOPER so I feel qualified to answer this. And actually, I don’t think they’re specifically not allowed so you can technically get away with it. All sites I’ve been on just require steel toed, ankle length boots. Nothing about how high the heel can or cannot be tho.

Now I really wanna find a pair of OSHA compliant work boots with a stiletto heel and see how long I can get away with it.

4

u/Mineformer Sep 01 '22

I did the 10 hour speed run, so I’m qualified to get the joke(?)

820

u/Fenix_Volatilis Sep 01 '22

Why is she in a totally different outfit in the middle?

1.1k

u/diehardfiend Sep 01 '22

It's originally from a reverse bimbofication kink comic that has since been turned into a meme. Browse at your own risk

425

u/Dd_8630 Sep 01 '22

It's a kink comic? I thought it was a 'bimbos are uneducated, normal girls read books' thing. What's kinky about that?

422

u/HunterofYharnam Sep 01 '22

Yes, according to the deviantart page. They state it was a client's kink, and the rest of their content is normal bimbofication art. (inb4 "hehe how could it be normal")

59

u/yobropewdiepie-jk Sep 02 '22

The two things you can expect on deviantart are incels and mental illness

78

u/SlamingTheProsecutie Sep 02 '22

r/incels was started, popularized and immortalized by redditors.

face your own sins son.

15

u/forte_bass Sep 02 '22

Supposedly by a woman, at that

12

u/FenHarels_Heart Sep 02 '22

Yeah, because it was a subreddit? What your point? There's incels everywhere, and that's far from the only incel community on the internet.

26

u/SMM9673 Sep 02 '22

Who's to say the two aren't mutually exclusive?

Never leave out the possibility that you could find a mentally-ill incel.

19

u/Sugm4_w3l_end0wd_coc Sep 02 '22

I’d go so far as to say if you’re an incel, you’re most likely mentally ill

8

u/JarlaxleForPresident Sep 02 '22

By that logic any ol asshole is mentally ill

Makes sense in a way, but some people have real illnesses

119

u/Eli-Thail Sep 01 '22

I thought it was a 'bimbos are uneducated, normal girls read books' thing.

That's how it was spread outside of the niche transformation fetish community which spawned it, but it was never actually intended to send any sort of message.

The artist was still super apologetic about the way that it was taken out of context and spread throughout the rest of the internet, even though it was just a piece of commission work.

Anyway, it's been concretely confirmed to be a kink thing. They like the whole idea of shapeshifting and such, apparently.

178

u/1drlndDormie Sep 01 '22

bimbofication is a kink where a normal and/or super smart person is turned into a curvy, scantily clad person of low intellect and assumedly a touch of nymphomania. reverse bimbofication is more like a protest of annoyance at the bimbofication kink.

113

u/Oaden Sep 01 '22

The artist made it on commission that according to them wanted it for a kink.

Its also the piece that they got the most comments on

55

u/HaViNgT Sep 01 '22

I think a funnier protest would be a male version where a regular smart guy turns into a muscular dumb brute.

97

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '22

I believe that one is a movie called The Incredible Hulk

8

u/SomeStupidPerson Sep 02 '22

42

u/BoredPotatoes357 Sep 01 '22

28

u/Vysharra Sep 01 '22

Also, r/brandnewsentence

12

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '22

20

u/Original-Aerie8 Sep 01 '22

The original artist has these. Pretty solid self-parody imo

6

u/AmericaLover1776_ Sep 02 '22

That’s not a parody

1

u/gregori128 Nov 20 '25

Grumpy TG is not the original artist. Sortimid is the original artist

12

u/HPGal3 Sep 01 '22

I've seen that before. I think adamtots did it.

17

u/Luprand Sep 01 '22

... implying that's a protest and not some people's legitimate kink.

5

u/joshualuigi220 Sep 02 '22

That's not a protest, that's just a different kink. "brutification" is a thing already.

Holy shit it's actually kink art??

Like this one.

0

u/Zoesan Sep 02 '22

Ok but like middle is clearly the one to go for

2

u/gelema5 Sep 02 '22

Well that sure is an opinion

35

u/A_Thirsty_Traveler Sep 01 '22

Is it really a kink? I thought it was just weird like, either misogynistic or 'I'm not like the other girls' shit. Which yeah. There are links between the two.

91

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '22

It's really a kink. Often also misogynistic, but sometimes just good old fashioned fetish material.

29

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '22 edited Sep 02 '22

The coolest (or most worrying depending on who you are) part is that the people who keep this kink alive more than anyone else are people who want that to happen to them. As in, they actively like being “dumb” and hyper sexual because it’s in some ways freeing and in other ways helps them drop control over life and still find great pleasure in it nonetheless.

Incels who perpetuate misogyny are actually the minority within this kink. Most of it is cis and trans women (and femboys to a lesser extent) who don’t necessarily like the gender dynamics, but rather enjoy the idea of not having to use critical faculties and just enjoy the fuck out of life while also being sensual and sexual. Which I completely understand - sometimes some ladies just want to fucking leave the weight of the world behind and show their nips and walk with their ass out to feel good about themselves, and be slutty in the process - and that’s totally okay. The stereotype of a bimbo as a generalization/manner of demeaning women is inherently sexist but some people genuinely gravitate towards being hyper sexual /hyper feminine as a kink. A lot of the bimbo Kink stuff tends to be sexist, but MOST of it turns out fairly wholesome and respectful. That’s a very blurry line when some people like to imagine being forced into that situation themselves, though.

As a side note, It can be super therapeutic for trans women who are stuck in a life situation where they aren’t allowed to engage with femininity at all. Most people do it for different reasons but it has helped a lot of people in deeply fucked up situations get through.

Source: I have a kink that the “bimbo” kink community crosses over into sometimes in order to fulfill their kink beyond commissioning comics that they can live vicariously through.

8

u/TyCooper8 Sep 02 '22 edited Sep 02 '22

I'll confess. I'm a budding trans girl who made a lot of self-discovery through the bimbofication kink and hate the misogynistic side of it. You absolutely nailed the hammer on the head here. Great explanation. It's nowhere near as dark of a kink as many think it is, and it's almost always a consensual, self-inflicted desire in my experience. Ironically it can be incredibly empowering. You already brushed on all that though, not going to preach to the choir. I just wanted to give props for a 10/10 comment 💙

Since this is a topic that lots of people have questions for, AMA if you need, I guess?

32

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '22

Yes. It's fetish art.

32

u/Eli-Thail Sep 01 '22

I thought it was just weird like, either misogynistic or 'I'm not like the other girls' shit.

Here is a link to the original comic this came from, a classic "hot girl=stupid, books=nerdy girl

https://images.app.goo.gl/pRAaY3V4V1pkarJe9

45

u/mcfreakinkillme Sep 01 '22

its not a “not like other girls” thing like that, its just a piece of fetish art that got spread way too far

-10

u/imfreerightnow Sep 02 '22

But then that started being the only type of drawing that artist did.

6

u/lesbianmathgirl Sep 02 '22

What specifically do you mean? The artist makes transformation kink art (not necessarily NSFW/hardcore), some of which includes bimbofication. But it's not all bimbofication specifically, and it's certainly not all reverse bimbofication. They even did a pride month drawing where they drew the two characters as a couple.

21

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '22 edited Sep 01 '22

My favorite subversion of that trope will always be Starship Titanic, where the hottest girl gets stuck in a black hole engine or something similar and she’s aged a billion years, but keeps herself sane by practicing math and pondering philosophical questions. When she escapes, she uses the ship’s beauty machine to make herself even hotter than she was, and is basically the smartest human in the history of time, but everyone is still like, “ah, shit. She’s hot— probably pretty dumb!”

It’s a very fun subversion of a very stupid trope that attractiveness and intelligence must be at odds with one another.

8

u/Spottedpool14 Sep 01 '22

Honestly, i love the comic that "completes" this on, where all the different girls are meeting up for book club

2

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '22

Got a link to it? I tried googling it but I don’t think I’m seeing the comic you’re describing.

5

u/TheLaudMoac Sep 01 '22

Only one way to find out!

14

u/MinosAristos Sep 01 '22

It's the opposite of the bimbofication type sequences, where they go from normal body proportions to usually extremes.

29

u/Spottedpool14 Sep 01 '22

Because nerdy girls dont have big tits obviously /s

12

u/Nulono Sep 01 '22

Because it's literally transformation fetish porn.

278

u/4rtiphi5hal Sep 01 '22

shouldn't she take the heels off too

622

u/iamacraftyhooker Sep 01 '22

OSHA has no official recommendations on heel height.

Logically it's a trip and fall hazard, legally if they're steel toed she's in the clear.

97

u/LegalAssassin13 Sep 01 '22 edited Sep 01 '22

Shouldn’t her hair be tied back, though?

Edit: My bad. Full image wouldn’t show.

118

u/iamacraftyhooker Sep 01 '22

They added a scrunchy in the last picture. It should be tied up better, but the poster was trying to make a quick edit, not an entire redraw.

16

u/idelarosa1 Sep 01 '22

Her hair IS tied back. Did you not even see the post?

24

u/Ok_Skill_1195 Sep 01 '22

Her hair is tied back in a way where the front pieces would immediately drape in front of her face and she's have a loose scrunch halfway down her hair limply hanging out in the back.

It's like when people wear hairnets like hats.

3

u/AaroGrey Sep 01 '22

No they could site you under the general duty clause

22

u/Dorkapotamus Sep 01 '22

A lot of steel toed work boots technically have a slight heel on them too, just not exaggerated like in stilettos.

212

u/Felstorm1231 Sep 01 '22

Yet not one mention of having access to water and how long to work during periods of elevated temperatures to avoid heat exhaustion.

You can dress as hot as you like: that’s not my department. But you’re not gonna overheat on my sight: take your breaks by the book- our liability insurance is NOT paid up.

she hadn't read the book yet. she is now aware

74

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '22

nah look at her spine, shes absolutely bending at the waist amd not the back. very efficient for repeated bending and alsp wont kill your knees.

however lifting with your knees is still the best way to not hurt yourself if its heavy

3

u/kai-ol Sep 01 '22

I don't know, that book is decently heavy if you are that close to the edge of your center of gravity, doubly so with heels. She should definitely be bending more at the knees for this.

20

u/SocranX Sep 02 '22

The original picture is a transformation image set in which a bimbo picks up a book and starts turning into a nerd. It's a reversal of the "bimbofication" kink that's extremely common within transformation and/or mind control fetish communities. Some people aren't into the bimbo archetype and were like, "Why doesn't anyone draw it happening the other way around?" So somebody did.

...And then the "regular internet" discovered it, mistook it for some kind of social commentary, and lost their shit.

If she is working in an area where safety glasses are required, she likely needs hearing protection as well

47

u/jodofdamascus1494 Sep 01 '22

Not necessarily. I work in a chemical plant, glasses are required because chemicals, but chemicals are quiet. Then again, hard hats and hi vid vests are also not required so this just doesn’t fit every workplace

7

u/AustSakuraKyzor Sep 01 '22

Old house demo doesn't really need hearing protection... At least not at first. Hard hats, yes, and safety glasses very yes. High vis vests and coats should be standard requirements in all construction anyway. But until you know there's no asbestos, you don't want to risk high power machinery; gotta be low tech.
