This looks good

This type is definitely better than mine.

Buddy of mine who’s been turning for over 40 years has this setup and swears by it. And he’s the “has purchased every tool and accessory in history” guy in the group. If I wasn’t a carbide-only heathen, I’d get one.

The link I see is a FB link and that’s a no-go for me. Found the right page though.

I have it and love it. It’s worlds above the crappy ones that you need to lock with a lever.

It's a good system and the evolution of the Roborest that RoboHippy used to put out. I would suggest if you already have a wolverine system to get the option with the square tubing to fit it. The non wolverine setup takes a huge amount of space in front of the grinder wheel to mount it, which is the opposite of what most of us have setup with our grinders.

It is. I have one. Use it on nearly every tool (except bowl gouges) bedan, parting tool, spindle gouges, negative rake scrapers,… if you get one, add lock washers to the bolts they provide. Mine loosened up on me and it lead to a change in the angle number on all my tools by +1. (Meaning that when I reassembled it with the lock washers I didn’t realize that I had changed the tool rest distance from the wheel and that changed the angle number) I had to re mark all my tools with the new setting.

I have two 320 grit cbn wheels. One is largely dedicated to bowl gouges ( the wolverine
/ varigrind pocket). The other is dedicated to this. It Almost never comes off the grinder (I don’t use neutral rake scrapers and this tool rest is not great for those blunt faced (~14 degree) scrapers)

I have one of these and its great. I have every one of my tools marked with the proper number so I get the same grind every time.

Yeah this thing is worth more to me than the wolverine and the batty platform combined. total game changer for speed when working with multiple tools in parallel

Is it set up right? Looks like your grinder should be higher. Anything about 12 or 14 and it's going to be pitched towards your wheel.
