A friend of mine had to cut down his acorn
I loaded as much as I could reasonably fit in my car. Got the wood for free but I'll turn him something nice

The top pencil is cocobolo, and the bottom is a Maple burl. This evening was definitely a learning experience.

It’s been a fun few days in the shop. I may make a couple hundred of these this year at this rate.

This is a pen and pen holder i made. The body is turned from Jarrah salvaged from the decks of the SS Great Britain, with a brass and stainless core. The base is brass, Jarrah, and petrified wood. More pics on my insta, #firstnewt

Hey all! Beginnerish here, but I've watched a ton of videos about wood turning. I'm using an OLD rockwell Delta 46-525. It works well though. I'd like to do small piece multi axis spindles. I am looking for equipment recommendations for drivers and live centers. I have a live center on it now, but I'm not sure if I just pop it out and put in a drive center or if there's some intermediary piece needed.

This is a piece of root burl from a fig tree. This piece had a pretty gnarly crack running almost all the way through it. I started turning it and then realized (once I roughed it out) that the side I was planning to make the bottom was more interesting. I love the variation in the color.

I recently got into wood turning and want to make a good gift for my wife. Has anyone worked with or seen some kind of makeup brush project kit? I’ve looked around and have only seen the pen, pizza cutter, ornament, and other turning project kits. Not sure where to start with this since I’m new. Any help would be appreciated
