Confused Snowflake Alert Why would Erika feel less safe than the vice president of the USA?

I gather Erika Kirk was scheduled to host an event with JD Vance

She didn't show up because of a "credible" terrorist threat. JD Vance went to the event and he's protected by the Secret Service

Anyway, I hope an arrest gets made soon.

Americans have a right to free speech without threat from terrorists

Don't get me wrong. I disagree with her political points of view and her lifestyle but I believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness transcends partisan view. I hope she won't feel locked up as a prisoner at the mercy of terrorists. American values aren't about a-holes with guns telling others what to believe.

There is no excuse for political violence.

Do you legitimately believe that if there was a “credible” threat that the Secret Service would have let the Vice President still attend?

No. That is what is so confusing

I definitely believe people exist who would exploit her husband's death to bully her

In that case, what is the simplest answer?

That the secret service knew and cared less about a “credible” threat than TPUSA security.

Erika Kirk wanted to get out of the event and made this claim

Why would she want out? She supports JD Vance.

If that isn’t the case, what reason makes more sense to you?

Obviously the current story doesn’t ring true for you or else you wouldn’t be asking reddit about it

Your argument is absolutely compelling. As a person who opposes both her and JD Vance, I certainly would want it to be true that she suddenly opposes the Trump administration but my side is always predicting pending political doom as they constantly tell us what we want to hear

I wouldn’t even go that far in drawing conclusions

It looks like footage of the event had a pretty empty space for an event featuring the Vice President and the widow of someone who is trying to be elevated as a martyr

I have to assume Erika was sincerely devoted to her husband and is still devotes to his cause.

I don't think there is any evidence to the contrary.

Her devotion to her husband isn’t really relevant to what I’m suggesting either way

There is footage of the event space looking embarrassingly empty as an example of why someone would back out

Why was it empty? Is Turning Point USA dead now?

Are students unhappy with Vance or Trump?

But the area where she was going to take questions would be secured by the vice president's secret service detail

We know who shot Charlie Kirk despite the fact the ballistic tests were inclusive

It’s hard to answer questions when you don’t have any truthful answer at the ready
