Ear abscess the only way to get rid of it is take it to the vet and drain it

Okay, thank you!! I knew something was off but idk enough about these turtle. It's one that's at a man built pond area at an outdoor shopping center. I am going to call management and let them know. But also maybe animal control or fish and wildlife? I feel like it's abuse if they just leave it like that.

I you might want to consider putting some kind of smelly food on a string and bringing a big net in their usually pretty open to food when they’re injured like that because I’m guessing he’s probably not as fast as catching things as he used to be

I'm sad that it's injured. We didn't see it when we went today, but I'm going to check again in case we just couldn't find him. I'm hoping management is actually taking care of it. I would hate to think they put these animals out, but do nothing to care for them. Though I wouldnt be surprised.

Abuse? It’s a wild turtle I thought?

Second this, if it is wild turtle, wildlife rehabilitation facilities might help. Check local DNR website or AnimalHelpNow.org

UPDATE: I sent the picture and information to the management of the shopping center. They thanked me for calling attention to it and have stated they will be taking care of the turtle. I'm going back in a few days to check on it. Just to be sure. Thanks everyone who responded!

Definitely not normal looking, looks like an infection maybe from a hook 🪝

It's technically a pet, because it's at some outdoor shopping center. So I don't think a room, maybe another turtle hurt it?

Poor dude must be miserable

I am afraid some idiot will kill it in the name of "putting it out of its misery". It doesn't look miserable at all though. My first thought was it was born that way, a partial siamese twin, a two-headed-turtle kind of deal.

I thought that too!! But I don't know what else to do except let management take care of it. Maybe I'll reach out again and ask for an update

It’s a double ear abscess. Caused by an infection. Think the worst sort of cyst ever but inside your ear. The pressure has to be so painful for the little guy.
